    Awesome Bro 😎!! I like what you’ve done. Those old style Torquer intakes were great back in the day, but the sharp turns at the head were always the problem with them. This intake should really Rock-N-Roll now.

    Nice work! I am a MoPar guy, and I like the old Torkers and Tarantulas on BB 383/440s with mods. The Weiand Accelerators and TeamG intakes can be made to work too, with a lot of welding and reshaping, due to core shift and bad casting slag. A 4500 TeamG for a 440 has a built in 1.5-2" spacer for plenty of plenum volume, I just tig in material for the cloverleaf mounting pattern and flow vanes to reduce some dead area. Love the vintage look of your Torker SBF and it will certainly add to the stealth effect for onlookers!!

    Compared to what it looked like when you got it, that thing is going to work very good, you have add and removed alot of material and I have no doubt that it is going to work really well and the runners are much bigger than before, ive always liked the look of those things

    I don't know if you ever watch Drag Boss Garage, but he has some pretty cool (important to me, being an old guy from that era) guests on his channel to talk about how things came about, were developed and so on. One of the few inline valve small Fords I had back in the day had a Torker on it. Ran pretty good, but at rebuild time I put a Holley Street Dominator on it just 'cause I liked the way the ports lined up with the heads better. I was surprised and pleased how much better the engine ran, particularly with the throttle in a high fuel consumption position.
    Drag Boss had one of Holley's developers/designers on one of his live streams who said that the Torker was a pretty poor design, and they initially prototyped the Street Dominator or Strip Dominator, or maybe both, by cutting up two Torkers, and welding the "good" sections together. Devastatingly long and boring backstory, I reckon, so sorry about that. What I wondered, though, is have any of your gang run a Street or Strip Domnator intake, or have you looked one over?
    On my Clevelands, I've run a lot of intakes over the years; Torker, Tarantula, Performer RPM AirGap, CHI and of course the Holley Street Dominator. I've never run the Strip Dominator, but on the old 351C.net forum, it was far and away the most recommended, requested and respected single plane by the long time and lotsa experience guys. I wish Holley still made them, or would bring them back for carb guys, but you do occasionally run across them used or NOS, more often for inline valve than for canted valve Fords. Just wondering, and maybe making a rather veiled recommendation for your scrutineering pleasure..

      I think I've heard of them intakes you mentioned. I've seen the channel you mentioned too, I just typically don't spend a lot of time watching videos, but I'll look for that one about the intakes.

    The dividers under the plenum are too sharp. They need to be rounded off the the Victor intake you have.

    Have you ever used a Weiand Xcelerator? Seems really similar to the Torker, just without the twist.

      I have not used one, but the knock against that one too is the ports are too small to work with modern aftermarket heads.

    DEVCON!! use a bit of aluminum shavings in the mix ...Its an old aviation trick!!

    • @FXRSDriver

      Nice idea, is devcon like splash zone? Think I've heard of it, JB Weld has failed me before.🤣

    • @11secghia
      @11secghia 2 роки тому +1

      Not sure about the splash zone Ive used auto store Devcon 2 part epoxy with CLEAN aluminum shavings to reinforce it to fill dents on floorboards on helicopters, it works killer! Shhh about the auto parts on aircraft , the FAA gets testy about that stuff!

      @@11secghia Devcon won't handle the heat, why would you epoxy an aluminum intake just weld it. But if you are dead set on epoxy use Belzona 1111

    • @TL-angzarr
      @TL-angzarr 2 роки тому +1

      @@FXRSDriver Splash zone is much better than devcon in an intake. But Belzona 1111 is better than splash zone for resisting fuel.
