“You’re nothing but a piece. Your absence wouldn’t hinder my progress in this game in the slightest. If you can’t think of any other theories in particular, please just go back to the piece tray and gather dust or something. It’s painful to even remember useless pieces.” - Frederica Bernkastel
Bern is such an incredibly well-written villain in general, but especially in EP7. Showing Lion a wall. Nothing scary about a regular old wall. “But why don’t we look at the next world over,” she says, and suddenly the wall starts leaking blood, and Lion sees their own body. All just to get her revenge on “Beatrice” in the pettiest ways possible. She really is The Executioner. Thank you for making this video, it’s my favorite song from Umineko. Hearing the slowed drums at 3:29 especially was very good!
@@boxofspoons8867 >“But why don’t we look at the next world over” - these words really have a much deeper meaning than it might seem at first glance. Objectivity is not always the truth, I think that's what Bern meant.
Bit late, but I still want to give my two cents of this one - its propably the most difficult to describe yet. Its still very much recognizable, thats not it - but you really feel the speed the OG Version had when you slow it down that much, which was pretty much Hype Hype Fight Fight all the way, which fitted well with its use in the visual novel. This one feels more like something you would use for a tense stealth mission or survival mission - the latter beeing all to true for any encounter with Bernkastel.

It is always fun and interesting to read your comparisons with other works or moments from the vn itself, it gives me great pleasure. :p
