As you approach a roundabout if it has road markings (arrows) then you must follow the correct lane to take your desired exit. On a roundabout like this where there are 2 lanes on approach and 2 exits (not counting the exit going back on yourself) the left lane takes the first exit and the right lane takes the second exit, whether it’s straight at 12 o’clock or right past 12 o’clock. There are a few more roundabouts like this. One is on Frank Lester way heading towards Eaton Green road. The other is going up hitchin road and also the one at the top of hitchin road with multiple zebra crossings.
