In some cases express fares are relative to bridge/tunnel tolls anyway it’s better than paying an ADDITIONAL congestion price fee. Also utilize commuter rail in city limits especially since ridership isn’t were it once was city residents can help fill up certain empty seats!
It’s good that the Second Avenue (second phase) subway is finally getting the heads up to help ease the crowding on the Lexington Ave line. Now, work should be done on stations that haven’t been repaired in years as well as giving us descent service.

It should also be extended to Brooklyn and Bay Ridge once Phase 2 to 125th Street in Harlem, and Phases 3 & 4 down to Lower Manhattan are completed when the Second Avenue Subway becomes the T train after Phase 3 and gets extended north to the Bronx to connect with the Metro North trains and south to Brooklyn and Bay Ridge to connect with the N R and W lines and a proposed tunnel to connect with the Staten Island Railway as a plan to extend the NYC Subway to Staten Island. The MTA should also consider extending the Subway to Staten Island in the future once the Interboro Express (IBX) line is completed and also plan to build a lower level on the new Goethals Bridge for express traffic and HOV lanes with a rail span for subway and Amtrak train use as well. That would be amazing.

I am pleased that Phase 2 of constructing the upper part of the 2 Avenue subway is underway, but I hope that Phase 3 will begin soon. The people on the East Side need those subway stations badly. I am a railroad buff from Brooklyn, New York.

Well, that's nice to hear. But the real issue is pushing the line to The Bronx at 149th st,and beyond. Next,let's see Phase 3 get fast tracked while Phase 2 is being built. We actually need this section as much as P2. One idea I'd like to see,is instead of the line heading straight towards Chrystie st, is diverting the route to Essex st through Alphabet city connecting to the F line. This area truly lacks rail service, requiring bus to train transfers. With the Avenue C divergent subway, the residents will have a direct connection to the subway system at large with less dependancey on the bus network.
Phase 2 should extend west on 125th at least to the A/D line, with a connection to the 2/3 line as well. A Bronx to Queens direct line is needed. Maybe extend the G line so there would be a Bronx/ Queens/ Brooklyn line without going through Manhattan. Lets alleviate unnecessary Manhattan overcrowding and serve the public as well.
When all is said and done much is said and little is done. I hope to see this done in my lifetime, but at the moment, since it isn't even funded yet, it's still wishware. I also hope to see a proper transit link to LGA in my lifetime, but I don't have much confidence of that either.

The funding was secured in the infrastructure bill. This has not happened in previous decades.

It was Planned to go to The Bronx back then, I hope it does in The Future.
They are planning to do so, with the provisions set at 118th Street rather than somewhere at around 123rd Street.
