Nice to see you back doing bobbin lace. It is much easier to hang your starter bobbins as you need them rather than all a once. It is much less confusing and you don’t get them slipping off when you push the ones to be used to the right out of your way.
Hi Tanya. I was thrilled to see that you did another bobbin lace tutorial!! Since I broke my wrist 2 years ago, I have not recovered enough feeling in my hands to bobbin lace again. I still have my pillow and bobbins though. I also can't crochet anymore either. I bought a 4 shaft floor loom last year. I can do that with major decreased feeling in my hand. I am in love. I am getting old so trying to learn as much and do as much as I can before I can't!! Good seeing you lacing again!!! Jaci.

Question about the thread is the number 8 size thread thicker then the size 10 thread? I was taught that the higher the number the thinner the thread. I have been crocheting for over 55 years, I learned how from my grandmother, I also have a BFA concentration in textile design.
awesome video,I don't know how you manage using a flat pillow it crucified my shoulders I now use a bolster pillow what a difference that has made so much more comfortable

Ibsaw the pricker andy first thought was "haha, it's a probe!" I was a biologist and those are in dissection kits. I'm also a not very serious biologist, so I called them "pokers." Bahahaha!

I saw the Instagram blurb about someone demo'ing a product and having 3imillion views, but because she didn't do it 'this' way, she missed out on (I think it was around 30k$?!)....... therefore, ya, I'm glad you said no to a free pair of glasses, as that wouldn't have come close to retribution ------ even if they hand bobbined them out of SOLID GOLD AND PLATINUM, dipped in chocolate sauce and rolled in crushed nuts. I have a stupid question, probably one of many that I’m going to ask! How do you know to start with a whole stitch? When you get a pattern, are there instructions with it? I’m an avid knitter, so I’m used to everything being spelled out. I have Geraldine Stott’s book, but I find it confusing. Do you recommend any other books?
There are no stupid questions. Only stupid answers because I don’t know! Lol sorry. I think it’s to “lock” the threads together. It’s something I never thought to ask my lace teacher. Perhaps someone else will see this and be able to give you a proper answer.

Is it right that when you do a half stich your pairs do not Stay together?
Yes, they do not stay in pair's when you do half stich.
You always work with pairs, but the pairs themselves can often change.. Don’t look at the bobbins. Look at where the next stitch is going to be.

I believe I put about 2 yards on each bobbin (4 per pair)
I usually measure 2 arms lengths. Arms out to your sides, tip of one hand to the other hand. That’s “one” Do that two times
