The dancing in this is UNREAL... It seems many people, especially younger people, are just learning about Madonna during this time of her highly publicised Celebration Tour. As she's no longer really played on mainstream radio, she hasn't really been a fixture, musically, in the last decade at least. Except for long time fans who always buy and seek what she's up to, a core group, her music, dancing, performance now plays second fiddle to her other efforts to stay in the public eye so giving people an incorrect impression... Not Madonna's fault... It's a real pity that age means one is precluded from playlists on most popular radio, if not elsewhere in the world, certainly in the UK. It is partly the reason I didn't keep up much with her output much after Confessions/Hard Candy/MDNA. I simply didn't make the effort to search out her newer stuff or perhaps what I did hear, I didn't like....the little I did hear....How much I missed out on and how much everyone is missing if they only concentrate on what the media currently wants you to see of her! The songs from the MDNA album and tour are OUTSTANDING as are many on later records such as Hard Candy. But I've hardly never heard any of them on radio. Since seeing her for the first time just a couple of weeks ago, I am now reviewing all the stuff I've missed, all the performances, tours etc. This footage is incredible and shows what a truly fantastic performer she is/was - athletic, energetic and VITAL. The press need taken to task for the way they have tried to obliterate her career in the last few years, erasing her from public view except to denigrate her efforts to draw attention to her talent, music, viewpoint, which she has every right to do. Her musical output, versatility and virtuousity are ignored to make way for ageism, sexism, mIsogyny and ridicule...what a nerve these people have! But perhaps only the British press, the stack 'em up, knock 'em down 50s revivalists who hate strong and progressive women as a way of life... She is actually more relevant than ever precisely because of the way ANYONE over 30-40 is kicked out of the picture whether they have something to say or not. She still has something to say which is that AGEISM, SEXISM, MISOGYNY, RACISM, HOMOPHOBIA, HATE - NOT ON! NOT NOW, NOT EVER. Madonna is the greatest performer alive and should be respected as such. She's earned it. I don't see why she has to keep on paying.
SPREAD THE WORD. I've been doing my best for years to share her current stuff! It's so unfair that most of America has no idea what she's done past Ray of Light, TBH.
But english press wrote great reviews for the Celebration Tour, so they acknowleged her greatness. It's a shame radio don't play old singers in UK also because I suppose MOST teenager listen tò.spotify etc not radio. In Italy radio play old singers infact our MOST succesfull Singer Is the rocker Vasco Rossi Who Is 72 years old. He plays stadiums every Summer and everybody respect him. Sorry for my mistakes in english
