The little silly things like the “transom phone” and the “Titanic thing” thrown in add to the enjoyability of these videos . Very professional and informative, but with personality!
SUGGESTION: You need to talk about how much it costs to park and service a boat at a marina. That, more than depreciation, is the biggest issue. Most people who are new to boating have NO IDEA. It is not like you can spend $600,000 on a well kept 90' superyacht from the 80s and call it a day.
The price can vary for each marina, city and state. There are also costs for things boat size, insurance, utilities and waste disposal that differ from person to person so trying to come up with a ballpark figure can be difficult.
True! In Miami it could cost around $17+/ft for wet slip/parking your boat on water. This could run thousands of dollars per month only to park. So having a boat is like having a second family to support. It would be cheaper if you have your own dock in front of your house. That way pay for your housing and have a free dock instead of paying for dock and not have a house.
I know virtually nothing about yachts, but I believe I heard somewhere that you can expect to spend 10% of the yacht's purchase price per year on docking, maintenance, insurance and fuel. The other problem is that, unlike a house, it is a depreciating asset.
@@solimanel-deeb8922 not sure about $17/ft. It’s around $1/ft per day on the low end to around $2.50/ft per day. So basically $1500 to $4500 per month for dockage, then there’s electricity, sewage ( free at lager marinas) tv, internet etc etc etc etc. if it floats, flys, xxxx’s. Rent it

Nice boat, fun tour, no place for a dinghy though - would need to put it in the seating area on the upper deck and figure a way out to get a 200lb dinghy into and out of the water from 10 feet up.
Cheaper than a house in a lot of locations, and financing terms can be pretty generous on boats. Maintenance on the other hand... well, it's a BOAT. Bust Out Another Thousand. At least this one is seaworthy, though, so it's not Bankruptcy On A Trailer.
@@ParadigmUnkn0wn of course it's "cheap" when compared with $3M super lux yachts, but the hubris is kind of funny. Yes to your point owning a boat of any significant size is a bold commitment to cash outlays.
