I'd love to see updates to the house and the garden. It makes me reminisce the times when my mom would go see my sister; leaving me alone at the house while i take care of her garden for like a month at a time. Just me smoking some joints and watering a garden around sunset was the best.

teej, quick tip regarding the plants:
if they're jellow you're most likely overwatering
if they're brown/black they're drying out
make sure your pots have good drainage so water cant be standing in the bottom because that causes the roots to rot. this honestly matters most!

About the garden TJ. Lettuce grows stupid fast, like daily salads. Just pick the outside leaves. Broccoli is pretty hardy as well the harvest will slow down quickly though.

Amateur botanist advice from the same climate zone:
1) Water EARLY in the morning (avoids mildew, especially black mold on the basil)
2) Fold in NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) additives to avoid that yellowing from nutrient deficiency. Theres' tons of companies that make this combo.
3) If you still have issues after NPK, use additional trace nutrients (Boron, Copper, Iron, Chloride, Manganese, Calcium, Molybdenum, and zinc). They sell small bottles of it as an additive.
4) Don't use insecticide, use NEEM OIL. Mix it with water and spray all over the plants.
5) If you think your soil is too compact or doesn't absorb enough water, mix in PEAT MOSS. You won't need to water as often either.
6) Cover any part of your planter that touches the ground with copper tape. This deters slugs, etc.
7) Get a "Green Man" face sculpture and put it nearby. It will appease the Celtic gods, ensure a bountiful harvest, and impress any boomer over 65. Seriously, don't skip this step.
overwatering isnt how much water you do at once but watering too often. you want to get all of the soil fully wet all the way to the bottom and only water once the soil dries. to know when youve put enough water and when you should water again get a soil tester and it will come with a pamphlet on how to use it.

Nice little garden! Lost art to a degree. Planted 2 apple trees and 2 peach trees this past spring and have a couple of blackberries and strawberries too. Can't wait for some fresh fruit and smoothies and pies and all that goodness.

There’s some stuff you can get from like a Walter Anderson’s it’s called grow power it comes in a powder that you mix with the soil and then there’s a liquid he’s like a cat full for like a Gatorade size bottle shake it up and do it maybe once every three months and it gives it like the nutrients that the dirt will start losing overtime. And be careful when you spray the actual top of the plant especially when it starts getting cold or if it freezes it will die. Trust me my pepper plants do that every single year even though they’re grown in the summer but into this time of the year they start dying because they get frostbite. And they grow hot peppers just ask Calvin

looking great man. regarding plants just pull off the withering leaves so the nutrients can be supplied to new growth, it wont harm the plant, they bounce back as quick as we do.
I love how focused you get while doing a pull, but when the pull is over with your actual reaction shows. LOL
The Brocolli rabe dying on the bottom like that is normal however soil looks dry. Im a gardener/landscaper. Everything else looked good. Should use some citrus fertilizer on newly planted citrus
