- Originally, these multipurpose tools were called Schweizer Offiziers-und Sportsmesser, but that name was too clunky and was eventually shortened to ‘Swiss Army knife’ by American soldiers.

The first step in the the production process is to stamp the raw material to create the different parts of the knife. This is followed by a polishing process in which the metal blades are tossed into a container full of ceramic stones and then pulled out by a magnet. In order to harden it, the metal sits on a conveyor belt and goes through an oven.
“Inside we have a temperature of 1,050 degrees,” says senior product marketing manager at Victorinox, Urs Wyss. “This heat changes the structure of the steel.” The metal then gets ground to ensure sharpness and assembly continues.
Victorinox was started by Elsener’s great grandfather, Karl, in 1884 and continues to be run as a family business out of Schwyz, Switzerland today.

Grandpa Grandma Uncle Aunty working here. Producing high quality products. Support people at their old age by purchasing one. Regards,
Awesome knives, excellent quality. Swiss folks really got it going on with quality and one heck of pocket tool. From the U.S. to Switzerland, great job.
Watching this fidgeting with my swiss champ I carry every day. Victorinox and buck knives are by far my favorite brands
A very old-school factory, a lot of manual assembly, which is nice. I understand they offer many different models, but a custom order service would be nice. For example, I would like a Rambler with alox scales.
I agree, a custom shop option would be excellent.
I've got a swiss card and it's fantastic quality, the little tools on it are just so well made it's absolutely something worth paying the money for. Maybe someday I'll get a swiss army knife
I used to have one ,got taken off me at airport security forgot I had it in my wallet! 😭
Great little gadget, even the little pin was so useful for swapping sim cards.
@@Shithappenswhenu Yeah 9/11 really hit SAK sales and drove Wenger bankrupt. I am always careful to put mine in checked luggage. I’d be gutted to have mine confiscated.
You should get one. My favourite is the little Cadet Alox: small strong and under $30 if you shop around. It will outlast you.

Son las mejores navajas del mundo te salvan la vida y calidad precio es lo mejor que existe sin duda alguna, una maravilla en la historia de la humanidad
Had one since a boy and one has always been in reach since then. For the quality and utility they are also fantastic value for money too. Amazing they make 20 million a year and still can hand finish and check them all to a uniform high standard. I have never had a bad one.
The legend lives on and nothing will ever beat the Swiss army knife and I'm very prod to have one in my pocket
I have the Swiss champ. I love all of the tools. I havnt found a single day where I can’t find some use out of them all.

Hi Guys 😍💋 💝💖
Good thing Lucy Riccardo doesn't work there.
Reposting the same exact video a few days later isn't going too do anything.
Hey Justin- Thanks for watching! This version is actually longer than the original, just showing the process. If you're keen on learning more about the history of Victorinox, check out this version: ua-cam.com/video/EY-6MHMdAUQ/v-deo.html
And if you actually *payed attention to detail* and think before you speak i would ACTUALLY do something. For us not wasting time reading your useless comment.
