What a guy. I'm a Bruins fan so I've been hating on the Panthers these entire playoffs, but I'll admit, it choked me up a little to see this guy raise the cup tonight. 31 years is a long time chasing that thing. Congratulations Paul, you are a class act.

I'm a Rangers fan obviously was a bit distraught when they took us out but can't help but smile to see Maurice get his championship. Seems like a great Coach to play for and knowing he has been chasing the Cup for 26 years, to see him finally get it is what makes this story a great one.

Was really special to hear him say he’s rooting for Winnipeg after the game. He was in a whirlwind of emotion and excitement, and still took the time to credit Winnipeg. Really shows how thoughtful of a person he is, and how impactful his time spent there was
Out of the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB, the NHL is the only sport that does it right by presenting the cup to the captain of the team and not the narcissistic owners of the NBA, NFL and MLB. The Stanley Cup presentation is the best ever! Paul Maurice is such a beauty. I'm really happy for him.

Paul Maurice was the reason I kind of hoped his team would win. The coach in only in his fifties but is 2nd behind Scotty Bowman for most games coached . He is articulate and thoughtful, never pissy . Congrats Coach Maurice , you certainly deserve the cup this year, and maybe next as well .
Oilers Fan Here. At the end of the day when the dust settles, that was one hell of a series for hockey. Paul Maurice is also one hell of a coach and I've loved him since Winnipeg and watching what he did to turn that team around. Great Team, Played a shutdown game and executed perfectly. Hopefully we will see yall back in the finals next year! Nothing but respect!

Coming up on 2000 games coached in the league and he finally got his cup. Amazing how much that Panthers team changed when they brought in Pomo and Tkachuk.
Absolutely admire and respect Coach Maurice especially when he says that he hopes the clock slows down and doesn't speed up all because he wanted to live the moment. Such a humble man, very happy to see he got his cup along with a talented Panthers team.

It was the moment when he did that interview when leaving Winnipeg that I really started to pay attention to Maurice. Said he "lost the dressing room" so needed to step away for the best of the team. Selfless acts like that do not go unrewarded. Congrats to Paul.

The stories in these playoffs (Dallas' 25 year drought, Florida's redemption story, McDavid's ridiculous run, the Oilers Cinderella story of just making the playoffs then coming back, all of the big retirements we saw this season) were all pretty incredible, but there's one thing I haven't seen many talk about.
Florida's ENTIRE existence started the minute the last Canadian team won a Cup.
Which meant that either Florida wins their first Cup. Or a Canadian team wins their first Cup in LITERALLY the same exact amount of time.
Which is why Florida sucks, they stole from us

I'm a Jets fan, but since round 2, I was mainly cheering for the Oilers, especially after that exciting comeback in the Finals series. But during the celebration, when Maurice said on live TV that if he had one more wish, he wished that Winnipeg would win the next Stanley Cup, any resentment I had for him leaving the team went away and I am so happy for him. What a class act!
With Scott Arniel as Head Coach the Jets will never win.

He's been Associate Coach & ran a disastrous PK & then True North hire him as Head Coach.
In the last few years the Jets have lost 25% of their season ticket holders.
This does nothing to give people any confidence in this franchise.
Free agents (with much skill) won't come here with an idiot like him as Head Coach.

I coached Paul's son in little league baseball. He has never changed. He is the same fantastic guy her was almost 20 years ago. I am so happy for him. I feel terrible for Edmonton but wow am I ever happy for Paul.
As a Canes fan I am so happy to see this. When he was coach of our team the previous ownership, I felt was stifling his potential success by not spending to the cap. Now we finally get to see what he is capable of doing. Well deserved!

5-0 in game 7s as a coach, crazy. Wanted the cup in Canada, but as a Jets fan, I'm happy for Coach.
I was a kid in East Hartford when he coached the Whale. It's wild to see him almost 30 years later hoisting the cup with Florida. I wanted to cheer against them, as a bigger fan of every team they played against, but he and the Panthers gained my respect with all the hustle that won them the Cup.
As a Flames fan, I’m also happy to see Sam Bennet and Matthew Tkachuk win the cup. Congrats to the Panthers.

Everyone got mad the nhl went to nbc. They go back to espn and then complain how bad espn is
I remember him as the head coach of the Maple Leafs and even though he had a successful first regular season, the Leafs ended up missing the playoffs by 1 point. Then the second year, the Leafs dropped the ball, and he got fired. I always wondered what he could have done with Matthews, Marner, and Nylander if the Leafs hired him back. However, I always respected the work he did with Toronto and how close he got with Winnipeg as well as Florida the year before. I'm happy he's got his Cup and soon, his name on it.

You get the feeling that he could lead pretty much any team in any profession to be successful from the way he speaks.
2 Stanley cups in a row after a team got the presidents trophy and revamped to a more defensive team. Incredible coach and incredibly smart front office moves. I’d run through a wall for that guy.
When Paul retires and writes a book I will be first in line.
Bolts fan- I hate to say it but well done, well deserved. I would follow Maurice- they don’t get there without him, for as tough they act to be in the past, they would get distracted by the all after whistle stuff and do something dumb but he kept them focused on the hockey while stuff being physical.
I would double check the Barry Trotz stat. He coached Washington on their cup win against Las Vegas.

I did know much about coach mo other than his record and history. A lot of cats fans like me wondered why we didn't keep it in house after a president trophy. But man has he been the perfect leader for this team. Does and says everything right (until he doesn't and gets tossed because hockey is brutal on coaches).
