Added to the fact that he's never done anything in an England shirt (which counts for a lot with Southgate). His performances for England have been non existent (reminiscent of how he turned out for Man United).
At least Rashford has done stuff for England (occasionally scores goals or has a random good game).
Sancho needs to churn out at least another season of playing really well to play his way back in to contention.

It's not that simple, there has to be slightly different criteria for different players and positions. You need to find the balance. You can't just pick a player who's playing well who's never been to a tournament before and just assume it'll work out. No nation ever does this. It's not black and white. Each and every decision has to be made with the nuances and context in full-view.

It's obviously different reasonings depending on positions. You can't compare the two, as Quansah is never gonna actually play due to the amount of CBs in front. LB is THIN right now so you wouldn't want to bring in Tyrick Mitchell as it only takes 1 injury to an already make-shift LB in Trippier for him to be thrust in in at the deep end. Doesn't make sense.
Mitchell is not nearly good enough. Should be Leif Davis going

It's pretty clear that Southgate is never going to call up JWP. His only chance is when Southgate leaves, hopefully after the Euros.

I think its time that Southgate finally unleashes these players.. This team has ball skills and quickness to keep possession against any country.
If Gordon and Saka dont perform on the wing England should go for a more possession based style through the middle. I wanna see a 4-3-1-2 (with midfield/fowards: Trent-Rice-Mainoo; Foden; Bellingham-Kane. Watkins and Palmer as super-subs and Bellingham as a false 9 close to Kane.

Based on how rio would line up I would say that's why gomez is in there also, to play that left side, he can also invert, I can see Branthwaite/guehi/konsa being used over maguire potentially in that set up you need recovery pace, other wise I agree with rio

Southgate has never really fancied Rashford anyway..all the way back to the World Cup in Russia(I think Mou was an analyst at the time and could not comprehend starting Sterling over Rashford)....signs of incompetency was not starting him on the left against France in Qatar: France's weak link was clearly Koundé, but then again that is the difference between a good coach (Argentina) and a mediocre one(Southgate)..
Thats is because Rashy is a limited player. His brain stop functioning against low block teams. He has low footballing IQ. Just look at how Palmer play. Big difference in how they used and pass the ball. United has not been able to challenge any major title in years thank to Rashy...

Listening to Rio for the first 2 minutes or more, i kind of pick up an underlying message. I might be wrong but he seems to refers to off the pitch habits that he tried to emulate from great players of the past and how beneficial he might be for maximum health and performance. Looking at man utd injury list, it seems there might be area of personal habits that can be improved by players individually to stay in shape and mentally focused for games. There are not been a single report on what cause the recurring injury (strenuous training regimen, bad habits from players, the medical team incompetence or simply bad luck). Next year might see the same injuries and we will still wonder what's going on.😢

It's provisional. I'm pretty sure there's always 4 goalies in the provisional. 4 are never taken of courses, not unless you have to call up an emergency goalie during the tournament. I'm pretty sure it's just to let both the player and FIFA now that'll be your emergency keeper if you need them.
Hopefully this means Gareth will be starting Gordon.
With the defensive struggles we have, playing Joe Gomez at left back is no brainer
Rashford has more goals for England than the entire squad combined minus Saka and Kane.
Shouldn't go based off this season but its embarassing that Grealish, Toney and Maddison are anywhere near that squad.
I would have brought Timori instead of Quansah. Also Sterling needed to be there for the last 30 minutes.

The fact is, England have the highest scoring winger in premier league history if you exclude penalties, the second highest scorer for England of the players today, the highest assist provider, the player who almost single handedly dragged England to their first final in over half a century, the most reliable England player in high stake competition games, and so clearly most dangerous attacker in English football today not in the squad let alone the team. The idea any team can succeed to win a competition without a player that can deliver so much reliably to their game and be so influential to a teams success whether the rest of the team do not perform so well or not is called wishful thinking. We've seen Southgate take risks in finals and failed at every turn. He is unable to make constructive risks and is strongest when he uses common sense. Common sense would tell you Jude Belligham has excelled partnering Vinicias Junior at Real Madrid winning the Spanish League and in the final of the Champions League which should be amazing for England as England have a similar player to Vinicias Junior in the name of Raheem Sterling in the England team meaning they can understand each other very quickly and form an equally powerful partnership for the England attack. This is common sense. But what does he do? He takes Sterling out of the team depriving England of that obvious lethal attacking partnership. Common sense would tell you that with England getting to a final with Sterling as the driving force giving defenders nightmares on one wing and Saka still developing on the other, when Saka finally develops as he has today and so much better than that final and able to give defenders nightmares like Sterling, England with these two wingers would be giving defenders sleepless nights on both wings and be even more lethal than when getting to that final, so you play them both again now as a bigger threat than before. This again is common sense. But no, Southgate has decided to not play Sterling and play a lesser threat that has achieved nothing, but some good games for an average club for one season and has no experience of high stakes competition, or an alternative that has played for England, but achieved nothing special when playing for England and is not even the first choice for his club team. It's astonishing stuff. As for Palmer, a player that has scored an average number of goals in open play scoring 10 penalties he will not take for England to push up his stats, but more importantly failed to make the Man City team and was then sold, because although he was known by Man City to score goals is too much of a defensive liability to have in a team that wants to win things or be a top team, why in the world would a manager with any sense ignore these facts and like a novice want to consider putting him in his team just because pundits, commentators and the media choose to ignore the obvious facts and claim the manager who sold him has made a mistake despite the fact this manager is winning everything under the sun. Palmer does not understand defense, does not participate in defensive responsibilities, does not know how to balance defensive and offensive responsibilities and has no interest in understanding or participating in defensive responsibilities at a time in football when all 11 players have offensive responsibilities and all 11 players have defensive responsibilities and the team least efficient at utilising all 11 players for these offensive and defensive objectives loses. That is modern football and what is understood by all the top teams in league and international football as necessary to win competitions or leagues. But Southgate obviously thinks he is the exception and wishful thinking will get him over the line. Without Raheem Sterling in the team, I predict England will be knocked out of the competition in the Quarter finals at these Euros, mark my words, so I won't even bother watching the games managed by stupidity that makes no sense forced on the manager by pressure from the media. Wishful thinking gets you nowhere. Peace and love

Now what I take from all of these is considering we can all debated for days on the quality of players like Maguire, Pickford etc, we could argue that England lacks genuine established quality and thats why they will win it😂

I would play Pickford as goalie, walker right back with John Stones and Maguire as centre backs, I would go for. Luke Shaw as the left back. Phil foden left wing, Mainoo central midlfielder with Jude Bellingham and Saka on the right wing. I would have played Rashford and Kane up front.

Bellingham and Foden literally the two best midfielders in the world currently. But I agree with the rest of what you said, the rest of the squad is actually not great and Southgate has no clue what he's doing anyway.

Djimi Traore played in a champions league final so what, Sancho has not been doing bits in the slightest, 1 goal and no assists in the whole of the knockout stages. Both are number 10 and there are better options on the sides. Bellingham is all rounder both attack and defend and a must start. Foden is needed only when opposite goes ultra defensive, otherwise, keep him out for the sake of the balance of the team, let mainoo and rice run the engine and sides do the penetration with Bellingham does the 3rd man into the box.
