You the man Bob, now I'll tackle the cup holder removal to finally see why the door won't fully open. Hoping for previous owners' eight ball or something.
I think out of all my tools, those plastic trim panel tools were the most used and were the cheapest out of all my tool collection. Happy Thanksgiving buddy.
Bob, you have many useful and educational videos, thanks. My USB/AUX port (GX460 2013 Premium) in the center console is damaged and I need to replace it. The new part (86190-53040) does have tabs on the side and it look like I can pull it out w/o removing the center console. Do you know if I can pull it up or I need to access it from the bottom of the console after removing it?
Thanks Bob! Another great video! Might you have some tips on how to remove the arm rest lids? Mine are worn and I’d like to replace them with a darker color.
Thanks Man! Before I get in there do you know if the orange bulbs in the cup holders are the typical Toyota 81080-22040 style bulbs. We’ll that part number is the updated pure white not the orange but you get the idea! I ordered 4 along with my front grille for the footwells but now I’m thinking that I probably need quite a few more for the cubby/cup holder/glovebox/haven’t noticed yet if there’s one inside of the center console.
Hey VG, sorry for the late reply. You actually gave me a very good idea. Been thinking about lighting up the center console with super white LED's. As far as the cupholders, thats a good question, i never really looked. You making me go out to my car in my pajamas to check it out now.
@jenndrives7797 I would find out in the ES forums on Clublexus. I haven’t been in a Lexus ES350 since I was a teenager in the back seat losing my virginity.
Needed this for a good detail cleaning. Used this and your seat removal videos and cleaned deep. Now wifey doesn't have a disgusted look on he face when she gets in. Its all good tho, her vehicle looks like its driven by a female pimp, I never get in it.
PLEASE HELP E-BRAKE SWITCH REPLACEMENT. Hello, I need to replaced the E-brake switch because I spill some coffee from the cup holder, and in ran into the switch. Do you have any video on how to take the console apart to get to the Ebrake switch to replace it? Please help me with this by showing me how to get to the switch to disconnect it and replace it with a new one. Thank you so much. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you again.
i think i'm missing something here. You're asking for a vid on how to take the console apart. You're commenting on a video on taking the console apart. The only next step you have is to unplug the switch, dry it, and plug it back in. ???
@@GXBOB You are absolutely right. I have a LX570, which is somewhat similar. So, I did not watch the video because I watched so many and there was not any showing it. So I just look for a few that was similar and sent a message. I thank you for that because your video is the only one on here. Let's just say I got lucky and sent a message to your video not knowing it was the right one. I wish you had responded before because I just paid this morning to have it done. after I picked up my truck about 2 hours ago, I open up the old switch and saw that all it would of needed was cleaning because nothing on the little board was burnt and it is sealed so liquid cannot get to the electronic board. The liquid just makes the switch stick because of the sugar hardening. So mad right now. Lexus wanted $885 for switch and labor, but got my local guy to so it for $200 and he was done in like 30 minutes and called me to come pick the car up. Problem is they replaced the switch but the ligs on dash are still there. They told me to drive it and they should go away. Well the light used to go and come. whever the dash said Ebrake not avaible the lights would come on. Whenever it went back to normal evrything went back to normal. How do I clear the lights now? Tire pressure not showing and throwing a low pressure warning.
You referring to the top portion common to the shift knob or the bottom of the boot? Have you tried removing the top plate of the center console and see how the shift boot is attached? A bead of hot glue would do the trick if you're not able to replace it with the original snaps.
@@GXBOB i have not tried removing the top plate. And yes I’m referring to the “leather” portion. Whenever I move the shifter the leather sleeve moves out of place. Thanks for the tip - will try it out
Bob has been working! Thank you for all of the GX460 videos. You are the king of GX460 tutorials!
Not trying to be and still learning from trial and error for the most part. Happy Thanksgiving Jimmy.

you can pay me back by sharing some of that 8 ball while you're at it.
Thanks a lot Bob, I finally managed to get my USB working! It was disconnected, no wonder it doesn't work. Happy thanksgiving and stay safe!
Happy Holidays Rich. Good thing you found a disconnection rather than an electrical shortage.
Thanks Bob. I’m on my way to Harbor Freight tomorrow we got two within 17 miles and get me that plastic pryer. Now I’ll be able to get my DOD ID.

Thank you. Your video help me pull out a pen that drop in the cup holder cover. Thank you again.
All that for a pen? I would’ve just bought a new pen
@@GXBOB ha ha door saw not opening properly.

Thank you Bob, now I can tackle why my shifter makes a squeak. Going to spray some lube and hopefully it helps. 👍🏽

Yes, it should be in this video: ua-cam.com/video/l6WvHYCVOhM/v-deo.html
Do you know what's the purpose of that cup holder connector??
Is there a way to remove the front cup holder DOOR without taking the whole console apart? Glasses fell in when I opened door😢

Hello
Just bought used GX and looking for parts to replace plastic on central console. Maybe you have some sources where I can find these parts?
There’s always GX’s parting out on fb marketplace, offerup, and Craigslist

I'm picturing a pair of fuzzy dice hanging from the rearview mirror.
