"if you can't explain it simply you don't understand it well enough" listening to you is the definition of the above sentence; LOVE it thank you sir you are Awesome.
You are soooo correct. Our next evolution is Cloud Architecture and some sort of scripting language such as Python. Any Route/Switch engineer that fails to do so, will have a hard time getting employed in 5 years.
@@TheLithGH Nah don't do that. The game is fun. We get to go to work and play with toys. A Cloud Architect is like playing video games. Bruh we get paid to have funnnnnn lol!!!
John Swartz, thanks to you, I finally understand SDN, ACI, APIC and etc, in a way that I should. You took something that is difficult to explain and made it look easy to understand. I have been tasked with deploying this infrastructure. Is it possible for me to message you privately? Anyhow, I much appreciate the help you have given with this video presentation.
Some notes about the catalyst timeline: Crescendo > Catalyst 1200 Kalpana > Catalyst 3000 Madge > Catalyst 1600 Then: Cisco unveils the Catalyst 5000, a modular backbone switch based on technology from 1993’s Crescendo acquisition. Grand Junction > Catalyst 1700, 1900, & 2800
The best explanation ever! I finally deeply understand APIC , ACI, UCS, F card, M Card,....BIG THANK YOU!
There was no mention about F/M-cards. Or I missed something? Timecode?

Simply Amazing. Even a layman can understand SDN after watching this.
The most powerful way to explain something is exactly what you did John 👍 big thanks for you, and I hope we can see more explanations from you 😊
This has helped me so much. Thank you!
The spine/leaf to fabric/line card comparison will take some of the fears away from my fellow engineers.
Great job! There are so many videos on UA-cam that makes it so difficult to understand Cisco ACI unnecessarily. This is a solid video! Thanks
Wonderfull !! its the best explanation............... Just awesome History till last new
John Swartz your explanation with story make it so easy to understand.
This is Wonderfully awesome! I really found the ACI to N7K comparison very helpful! Thank you!
I like the fact that you have the HISTORY of the technology nicely done.
Big thanks sir.......................final place to learn ACI..................
The best explanation i have ever seen. thank you.
Best explanation and intro into ACI! Thank you!!!!
Although, sounds like us "Route/Switch" guys' days are numbered.

@@darrelstrickland6623 Thanks for the info, Darrel! I might just get out of this game before then, haha :-)

That was AWESOME!!!
gr8 info John. A must watch.👍
Wonderful explanation...so fantastic
Great explanation ! Thank you !
the whole point of SDN was to use open standards like openflow in order to minimize costs. if you buy cisco ACI you are locked in cisco
Exactly. Disaggregation is where it's at.
Light Bulb! 🔥
It was great explanation! Thank you very much!
What a nice history
do we have to be restricted to Leaf-Spine topology ?
or we can build 3 tiers topology ?
Why tho?
Can you teach me about classfull addressing
Perfect
