- This series is all about video game characters who have left me in awe at their power, whether it's the ability to survive a boulder falling on their head, colossal earth-shattering strength, sheer dominance over the game they're in, etc.
It's fair to say platforming games are one of the main staples of video gaming. At their core, they are about the struggles of unfortunate characters that must battle against the evil force known as gravity as it attempts to drag them into the abyss below the bottom of the screen.
It's quickly apparent to anyone that if these characters could learn to fly, their lives would become significantly easier, but surely they wouldn't introduce a character to this genre?
Well, considering what video series this is, that question is about to be answered with a resounding no. Let's dive into the Sonic the Hedgehog series for the third time and see...

In Sonic Advanced 2, Cream was always my go-to.
If those ideas that the Sonic Classic Heroes’ creator has shown are anything to go by, you will be able to soon enough, just with much worse character art.

Here’s a fun fact about Knuckles Chaotix: did you know that Vector the Crocodile is the only sonic character to canonically believe in God? In the Japanese manual, Vector’s reason for being in the game is because he believed that the island the game takes place in was a miracle from God and wanted to explore it.

Well, Amy said "Oh My God" in Sonic Heroes and Shadow said the same in a recent Sonic twitter takeover.
the manual japanese one of sonic 3 actually ties it with adventure. with eggman tricking knuckles by mentioning a dragon(we all know what that dragon is).

As soon as I saw Charmy on the thumbnail, I immediately knew it was going to be Knuckles Chaotix. Man, that was a weird game.
Meanwhile in Sonic Heroes, Espio was busted because you can easily turn invisible and throw shurikens at every enemy before they can see you. Just goes to show how a weak character in one game can easily become op in the next.
And how do Vector and Charmy work in comparison?

Charmy’s solo attack is a pretty weak sting. When the other fliers throw out explosive rings or sic Cheese the Chao on you, it’s not as powerful in comparison. And Vector’s not bad, but nothing really memorable sticks out about his moveset.
Espio REALLY makes those rival fights easy because if the rivals take out Vector and Charmy, the rivals (you know Team Dark then later Team Rose) just stop moving altogether allowing Espio being invisible to pick them off with his shurikens

Vector does have the "ranged strong attack" that Big has, unlike Knuckles and Omega having to get up close, he shoots his allies at foes.
Also arguably he has the best triangle glide (literally used bubblegum to catch air currents)
@@Hadaron But appart from that Charmy is still pretty good. He can create Flowers that make Alternate paths or shortcut with is pretty useful. He also has a glitch to fly infinitly. Vector is pretty meh tho yeah
Another cool thing is mixing Charmy's flight with Heavy. If I recall the end result correctly, you barely notice a physics change and now have a wrecking ball.

@@mariogirl8100 Not officially, but you don't need to understand the plot of the game to play it.
I tend to prefer giant bosses over small ones because they look awesome, but should I ever get to play as giant characters, their hitboxes in action oriented games are so massive while their defense remains untouched that they always end up as one of the worst characters in the game (looking at you, ZX Advent!).
More than anything else, I want a sequel to ZX Advent so they can improve and expand upon the A-trans mechanic. It's such an awesome idea being able to transform into the bosses, but most of them are one time use gimmicks. Basically all of your transformations become redundant after getting the ZX form.
@@qu1253 not to mention, the transformations are so overspecialized that you can't even exploit weaknesses properly with Rospark or at all with Chronoforce, two of the starter element trio!
Chronoforce is the worst example of that.
Not being able to move unless in Water.
He's only really useful for slowing down time to make some bosses easier.
I liked ZX Advent, but never really used any of the A-Trans forms, just when it was REALLY needed.

oh, i just remembered: in Super Mario World, his first SNES game, Mario can get hold of a cape, which gives him fancy gliding abilities!
it's possible to use that to skip some entire stages.
i also know of a secret exit in one level where you need to swoop UNDER the normal exit and back up!
Thing is, it's still inferior to charmy because of pretty obvious reasons:
1. You lose the ability to fly when you take damage
2. You need a running start to fly in smw
3. You can't throw fireballs and fly at the same time
4. You can't travel in any directions you want off a single flight
5. Gaining height mid-flight is impossible without moving forward a lot
And more, while none of these apply to charmy (except the third one, but no other chaotix character can throw fireballs, so who cars)
Charms is one of the underrated Sonic Characters I was surprised at how he breaks apart Knuckles Chaotix in half with his infinite flight, seeing Charmy in Sonic 1 and 2 makes me want to play as him in al the classic games, heck I bet he would make Labyrinth Zone more bearable. Using the Metropolis Screw Crusher for Size Measurements was an ingenious idea! Glad to you see our Broken Bee Boy getting some love from you and let’s not forget the Rabbit Princess Cream.
Pair him up with Heavy, and you're basically an absolute WRECKING BALL!!! Oh, and did you know about the glitch to gain infinite height with him in Sonic Heroes?
Imagine playable Charmy Bee in the 3D Sonic games -(excluding Heroes that doesn't have infinite flying i think)- .
It does, but it requires a glitch.

Charmy Bee is such a cute name. I'd never heard of most of those characters, but very interesting as always. Thank you for all the hard work and awesome videos
That really looks like it could Bee overpowered. I thought the same when I saw Kirby's Dream Land for the first time: Infinite flight does make it possible to skip most threats, but not in Extra mode where most enemies can fly too, and faster than you. Kirby games also seem to have more of their difficulty focused in the bosses anyway.

What's interesting about Knuckles' Chaotix is that originally it was suppose to be a Sonic game in some capacity. In the Debug Mode, there's an unused character in this game that you can picked which normally crashed the game when he's landed on the ground, but beta version of the game had that character functional and behaves as Tails as he was suppose to be intended to be in the game at one point.
Sonic were also planned to be a playable too, but he was later being replace with Mighty, hench why Mighty was the first character picked on the Debug Mode. Surprise you didn't compare Mighty with Sonic as he shared almost identical sprites as Sonic.
To reinforce this comment, an early prototype of the game features Sonic and Tails are the sole playable characters and is titled Sonic Crackers.

even though many people don't like/enjoy this game that much, I'm still glad they acknowledge and talk about it! 🥰 never underestimate Charmy! 🐝 Knuckles Chaotix's OST is underappreciated, as well as the other Sonic spinoff games! 💕

I wouldn't recommend it, personally.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. Knuckles Chaotix isn't godawful, but it's incredibly bland and drags on for way too long (there's 5 zones with 5 acts each. Yes, really). Plus, playing it nowadays isn't the most straightforward process since it's not available digitally as far as I know. Your only options are to play it on a real 32X or emulation.
Hm, who else wants a DK 64 style rap about the Chaotix crew, after Git teased the idea?

that ring mechanic reminds me of The Forgotten from The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, with how The Soul is attached to The Forgotten by a chain, but that one is easier to control because you can disable the partner so you dont have to pull them
Speaking of Heavy and Bomb, don't bother with Bomb *AT ALL.* Heavy, on the other hand, is usually the best ally to get when you're playing as Charmy.
Vector has an airdash? How did i never know this before?
Also, the only time it was even worth picking up anyone in Knuckles Chaotix was if you got Bomb or especially Heavy.
Anyone else can basically stay off the ground easily. Plus carrying Heavy and running through enemies was surprisingly fun for a while. Closest thing you get to permanent invincibility.
Saw Charmy on the thumbnail and knew I had to check this out. I liked Chaotix and I know how strong he was

I’’ll always question why they decided to make Charmy so damn big in the modern games. It’s certainly overpowered in this game, but his size fits him because, you know… he’s a bee. now in games like Forces or Generations, he’s the size of like… Tails or Amy

I never played this game, but I wonder if it's possible to beat each boss without moving? Mind you, if your partner moves your character somehow, that's fine. You just can't move yourself.

Honestly... the only real fun to be had in Knuckles Chaotix is breaking the non-existent level design with Charmy. It's such a plain and forgettable game otherwise.
Then they had to ruin Charmy in the 3D games by giving him the most obnoxious voice known to mankind.
Something I don't like about Sonic Classic Heroes is that Vector doesn't smile at the screen while running and giving a thumbs up xD that's one of my favorite things in Knuckles Chaotix.
A weakness of Charmy is that he cannot attack on solid ground, he needs to fly to do so, since the ground interrupts his dash and he will end up running towards the enemy instead, and he can be tricky, but other than that, he is broken as hell xD
These classic games' characters other than Sonic made it feel like they are able to catch up with Sonic's current speed and in the modern games. Those characters are just... There.
Seeing whoisthisgit talk about Tails in such a positive light give off the same energy as Lythero's Android 16 asking for Gokus.

When I was young I always played as cream in the gba sonic game.
I was like "Well obviously I'm going to pick the most powerful character"
And yeah, mario maker 2 totally got robbed of the dlc styles it needed.
So a tiny little Bee who is one of, if not the smallest Sonic character, not only has the ability to fly forever, but also simultaneously carry another, larger and heavier character at the same time?
...And yet despite this hidden strength he can't throw them.
Charmy has always been my favorite member of the Chaotix, even before I discovered how broken he was on the 32X. I've got a soft spot for annoying tagalog characters.
That said, he is FAR too broken. If I were going to nerf him for, say, Sonic Mania 2, or something similar, here's what I'd do. I'd make him slightly smaller than Tails, give him traditional Sonic controls on the ground with spinning and whatnot, change his free-flight into a momentum-based hover, make him vulnerable when not air dashing, and cut his air-dashes down to 5 or so. That way he's still hyper mobile in the air, but also brought down to mere demigod rather than full deity.

Charmy is the embodiment of broken joke fighting game characters, too small to hit and can move more easily due to their joke gimmick.
Also you forgot to show him combined with Heavy for the wrecking ball strat!

Whois, I heard that LIVE A LIVE gets an official remake in July this year. And it is even officially translated in english. Though I don't know if you'll like the remake or you would rather stick to the original.

Mighty originally debuted in the 1993 Arcade Game SegaSonic the Hedgehog along with Ray.
lol, Mighty's walljumping ability. I haven't seen a walljump that ridiculous.
My favorite thing about NSMB-Wii was the Blue Shell's ability to damage Dry Bowser. It takes three hits to beat Dry Bowser this way, although you might also bounce into the axe-like switch after just one.
I remember Tails' tail attack being annoying to use.

I don't think Git is too big into PC gaming aside from Age of Empires.

I got a powerful character, who is also the most underestimated character probably in history.
First, this is from Undertale so Undertale spoiler warning.
The character is: Sans
I'm kidding. It's Omega Flowey. Although there are too many people who thinks Sans is above Omega Flowey. Even though there's overwhelming evidence otherwise. I'll explain in the replies.
Omega Flowey is a literal God. He can destroy time (shown by him breaking the SAVE file), reverse time AND bring you along with it. (Basically when he LOADS a file in his fight, your HP doesn't reset.).
Not only that, Omega Flowey can go beyond the game itself. Which is NOT a single universe. Cause a universe doesn't hold a multiverse worth of timelines (Asriel battle). He xan access game files. This is proven when he crashed the game (oh yeah that too) and he renames the game to "Floweytale" (PC only). He can also change sprites (literally breaking the story pictures) and replaced the goat monster with a Loox.
"A child could beat him!!"
No, a super human God child with the power of time... COULDN'T beat him. It was the SOULS. You saves the human souls and you kill Omega Flowey, then he resets time and he had planned and controlled everything. He then kills you a million times. BUT somehow, the souls managed to disconnect from him, and somehow just yoinked his DETERMINATION fron him.
Also, Omega is supposed to be the player but stronger. That's even gow he van do all that stuff. He has more DETERMINATION. And more proof he can access game files: The player can access fame files. So can Omega Flowey, since he is canonically and logically stronger. In fact, if you try to mess with the game while Omega Flowey is in control of the game, you just can't (PC only).
The being with the most DETERMINATION can control time. Or in this case, the entire game. 6 souls combined with Flowey's already extreme DETERMINATION = Game Minipulation.
And: Omega Flowey >>>>>>>>>>>>> Sans. Sans can't do ANYTHING to Omega Flowey. The only reason the player can beat Sans is cause of your DETERMINATION. Omega Flowey is infinitely stronger.
And now, to debunk the proof I've heard one time:
"Sans canonically defeated Omega Flowey!"
No he didn't. He defeated NORMAL Flowey. Flowey couldn't get to the souls. It's guarded by Asgore. Also, Flowey stated he killed Asgore. Meaning he HAS beat Sans. Many times at that. And that's his NORMAL form too!
"Sans can control time!"
No he can not. And even then, Omega Flowey can DESTROY time. Did I also mention Omega Flowey can control time? He literally changed the story from the beggining of the game pre battle.
Actually, Sans CAN stop time (Talk in Grillby's and second half of Sans fight, literally everything including the normal music) but stopping time gives no extra strength or pure power. Also Omega Flowey is above time, so...

After all this, you may be thinking "bruh why not just mention Asriel he is totally 100% stronger!"
And to that, I say..
Yes. Yes, he is. But I chose Flowey cause he's much more underestimated. Plus Asriel doesn't show those feats (but obviously has them) but Omega does. And it's easier Tbh. Asriel is much stronger. But I just needed to say why Omega is also extremely strong.
This would make for a good video, but Git kinda dislikes the game.
