By lacrosse rule they are illegal, but let’s be honest here, if you hit someone and it’s not from the back or in the head it should be legal. Only if they have the ball or are about to get it or going for it though

Part of being a defensemen was making sure that even if they score you hit them hard enough not to come to your side again
When I played Rugby I would hit the guy with the ball hard enough that it made them not want to come anywhere near me again.
