Waukesha is my hometown, and I was a freshman at Catholic Memorial high school when Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams was released. I really enjoyed their debut, but it was Outside Looking In, and specifically this song and “Dreams” that made me fall in love with the band. Kurt has one of my favorite voices in rock. He’s such a criminally under appreciated vocalist and songwriter.
When I think of Heartland rock, it’s the BoDeans, and then everyone else gets in line behind them.

Saw these guys at least 10 times in the late-80s & early-90s. The contast in vocals was awesome and I really thought they'd be one of the next great bands. But at least they should be getting residuals from Party of Five replays.
