When news broke I was not shocked at all. They did the same thing with the Goddard Tunnel ceremony, which was similarly blasphemous and confusing to Pagans and even some Christians. I’ve watched several videos and listened to several conservative podcasters condemn it and give their explanations why it was so awful but none of them did it as clearly. While I support not watching the Olympics, I would encourage people to pray for the brave Christian athletes still competing there. I've seen reports of them being censored and mocked. While I am not watching the Olympics this year, I still believe we need to pray for those who are competing. They are on the front line of a battle in a hostile environment. Make sure to lift them up in prayer.
Yeah, you wouldn't want to support the thousands of young athletes that have dreamed their whole lives of competing in a global competition meant to foster peace.

I don’t necessarily believe we’re born broken but do believe we are born selfish and are inherently self seeking. Just because I have not murdered anyone does not mean I’m good and better than another sinner. We all sin and we humans are the ones to grade our sin against others. (I’m not as bad as him or her. Or an eye for an eye.) I believe God is saddened by ALL sin and He wants us to repent and turn to Him for forgiveness for all sin whether big or small. We cannot do it on our own. And Jesus is my example. The perfection none of us can be. I can’t imagine living my life as an atheist believing in no God or no heaven. To think this world just evolved over billions of years and that there is nothing after this life on earth…well that sounds awful to me. I believe this world is evidence in a God. Perfection and beauty surround us. I lost my first born son after only 24 hrs of life, to believe in heaven and a glorious life after death gives me great hope and honestly gets me through some of the tough days, here on this Earth. I have personally experienced God myself. I am grateful for that. But, also being a nurse I have talked to others and they have share their experiences with me. Most of them are reluctant in fear they will be called crazy. I have a VERY hard time believing all of those experiences are not real or made up. You should read about NDEs “Near Death Experiences”. I believe in the consistency of their stories more than I believe in no God. I recommend the movies: “Heaven is Real”, 90 minutes in Heaven”, and “After Death” and I recommend the book “Imagine Heaven, by John Burke. Don’t take my word for it but look into some of this information. If you still don’t believe..well….I promise you will be entertained because it’s fascinating!! That does not mean we accept or tolerate or excuse the blatant demonstration of blasphemy. Martyn brushes a little on my sermon from last week. What is the problem with churches and denominations, such as the UMC, now saying certain sexuality doesn't matter, not sinful, etc? In somewhat recent times, we've focused on tolerance - we need grace. Then the message became, we must not say that homosexuality is a sin because it might turn people from the church. Next, it was Clinton's saying, "don't asked, don't tell." Now it is "welcome all, Jesus loves you as you are." Sin can't even be mentioned because many of the church leaders are literally practicing these things. so what's the problem? Doesn't Jesus love sinners? Jesus came to heal the sick - to make them well. What if people don't think they are sick? The church leaders are telling them they are not sick, and they will condemn those who are warning. Don't think they killed John the Baptist for nothing -- it is literally because he told people to repent. The king put him in prison and had him killed. The pastors that teach the falsely attributed to Francis of Assis quote, "Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary." essentially telling people to shut up. Sorry, that is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Francis and Jesus (or John, or Paul, or James, etc). Sure, we are to live our lives as best we can and that will be a message, but a person of any religion can do that and it doesn't say anything about the salvation of Jesus. What matters? Sin must be called sin, or the church strips the opportunity of the Grace of God from sinners that Jesus offered when he gave himself as an atoning sacrifice on the cross.
We can receive grace what grace does is allow us to go to the Father to repent of our sin and be forgiven but we can continue in sin as Paul said should we continue in sin so grace may abound he said absolutely not

I wasn’t surprised by the Olympics mockery, but what surprised me was the number of Christian friends who were willing to make excuses for it or willing to overlook it and just let it go. I think that people are also missing a very poignant point with the fat lady/ trans whatever that stood in the place of Jesus was to pronounce a goddess type figure replacing the masculine with the feminine. You must first understand that it takes more faith to be an athiest than it does to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus's death, burial, as well as ressurection had more than 500 witness accounts in addition to the twelve apostles accounts whose four gospels were included in the Holy Bible to serve as the cornerstone in which all the seven of the churches were supposed to be established on. Because of the times we live in Satan has corrupted all of the churches and the churches can no longer be trusted. Only God's word can be trusted. The bible. But assumingly you have already read the bible and this isn't a problem about understanding religion. Overall your argument hinges on a faulty theory which is indeed the big bang or something similar, but inevitably needs matter for it to even possibly exist. While I support not watching the Olympics, I would encourage people to pray for the brave Christian athletes still competing there. I've seen reports of them being censored and mocked. While I am not watching the Olympics this year, I still believe we need to pray for those who are competing. They are on the front line of a battle in a hostile environment. Make sure to lift them up in prayer.
Yeah, you wouldn't want to support the thousands of young athletes that have dreamed their whole lives of competing in a global competition meant to foster peace.

I don’t necessarily believe we’re born broken but do believe we are born selfish and are inherently self seeking. Just because I have not murdered anyone does not mean I’m good and better than another sinner. We all sin and we humans are the ones to grade our sin against others. (I’m not as bad as him or her. Or an eye for an eye.) I believe God is saddened by ALL sin and He wants us to repent and turn to Him for forgiveness for all sin whether big or small. We cannot do it on our own. And Jesus is my example. The perfection none of us can be. I can’t imagine living my life as an atheist believing in no God or no heaven. To think this world just evolved over billions of years and that there is nothing after this life on earth…well that sounds awful to me. I believe this world is evidence in a God. Perfection and beauty surround us.
I lost my first born son after only 24 hrs of life, to believe in heaven and a glorious life after death gives me great hope and honestly gets me through some of the tough days, here on this Earth. I have personally experienced God myself. I am grateful for that. But, also being a nurse I have talked to others and they have share their experiences with me. Most of them are reluctant in fear they will be called crazy. I have a VERY hard time believing all of those experiences are not real or made up.
You should read about NDEs “Near Death Experiences”. I believe in the consistency of their stories more than I believe in no God. I recommend the movies: “Heaven is Real”, 90 minutes in Heaven”, and “After Death” and I recommend the book “Imagine Heaven, by John Burke. Don’t take my word for it but look into some of this information. If you still don’t believe..well….I promise you will be entertained because it’s fascinating!! Excellent commentary by Martyn Iles on this matter. We (as believers in Jesus the Messiah) are charged to love our enemies and those who persecute us for our faith. Martyn brushes a little on my sermon from last week. What is the problem with churches and denominations, such as the UMC, now saying certain sexuality doesn't matter, not sinful, etc? In somewhat recent times, we've focused on tolerance - we need grace. Then the message became, we must not say that homosexuality is a sin because it might turn people from the church. Next, it was Clinton's saying, "don't asked, don't tell." Now it is "welcome all, Jesus loves you as you are." Sin can't even be mentioned because many of the church leaders are literally practicing these things.
so what's the problem? Doesn't Jesus love sinners? Jesus came to heal the sick - to make them well. What if people don't think they are sick? The church leaders are telling them they are not sick, and they will condemn those who are warning. Don't think they killed John the Baptist for nothing -- it is literally because he told people to repent. The king put him in prison and had him killed. The pastors that teach the falsely attributed to Francis of Assis quote, "Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary." essentially telling people to shut up. Sorry, that is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Francis and Jesus (or John, or Paul, or James, etc). Sure, we are to live our lives as best we can and that will be a message, but a person of any religion can do that and it doesn't say anything about the salvation of Jesus.
What matters? Sin must be called sin, or the church strips the opportunity of the Grace of God from sinners that Jesus offered when he gave himself as an atoning sacrifice on the cross.
We can receive grace what grace does is allow us to go to the Father to repent of our sin and be forgiven but we can continue in sin as Paul said should we continue in sin so grace may abound he said absolutely not
Remember, Satan ministers are transformed as the ministers of righteousness.
I used to look forward to the Olympics, but no more. The athletes may be great, but their performance is tainted by the 2024 opening ceremonies. I don't even want to know which athletes won.

As terrible as the mockery was, i like countless Christians peacefully wrote against this and spoke up against this and saw us, united, and it strengthened my faith.
I wasn’t surprised by the Olympics mockery, but what surprised me was the number of Christian friends who were willing to make excuses for it or willing to overlook it and just let it go. That kind of apathy is sad to see. I’m not saying we need to go to war but what are we willing to give up for our God? There’s coming a day and sooner than we think when you will not be able to profess your faith out loud without fear of death. If you don’t believe me just look around because it’s already happened in many countries and it CAN happen here in America.

About Ephesians 6, first, praying is also a weapon. I was a recon scout in the army. our job required us to carry an M16, and i carried an M203 grenade launcher...and sometimes, we carried LAWs. In particular, you have helped me to understand what should be the correct Christian response towards the insults the secular world do against Christ. It should not be by the sword because Christ, in fact, claims no violence and the vengeance belongs to God.
But you gave me the answer when you mentioned Paul saying that God has chosen the weak to shame the "strong" (not exactly these words, but the same meaning) and that we are those weak and our fight for Christ is achieved by announcing the gospel.

I think that people are also missing a very poignant point with the fat lady/ trans whatever that stood in the place of Jesus was to pronounce a goddess type figure replacing the masculine with the feminine. Stating that deity is both god/goddess. Much of the occult celebrate both and in sexual rites. This was a blatant and obvious attack on Christian beliefs and the Dionysus is an obvious coin in indulging in the flesh and lusts of the world. Claiming the new religion/old pagan beliefs are now in power and you Christian’s need to deal with it. It is darkness and demonic message to say we are in power now. Bow down.
There is a relentless attack on women and families. Worse yet children in this disturbing movement. 😢 God spoke of these times and we must continue to speak to all including those in LGBTQ communities. Spread the true gospel and not allow the truth to be silenced that there is only one way to heaven. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one shall come to father except through him. It is not merely belief in him but the death of your old self and sins and picking up your cross following Jesus and become transformed on your walk with him. We are asked to spread the good news and tell everyone we can of Christ and salvation through him.

What can you expect from the Olympics, which involves lighting the Olympic Torch which is ignited by using the focussed rays of the Sun, which is also an object of worship in paganism. The original Olympic Games were a Greek institution that was limited to young men, who participated fully naked and the spectators were mostly older men who were looking for toy boys.
The whole spirit of the Olympic Games is founded in paganism and debauchery and the modern version is the same. One of the highest costs for consumables at all Olympic athlete’s villages is the bill for prophylactics. The figures are truly astonishing.
