What a fantastic video. Lovely to see you with an older dog who is obviously devoted to you. You had a grin on your face throughout - did we see a much softer side to you today with this older girl?
Bless her heart. She was so pleased to be out with you again. I'm sure that once you get her beach body back over the summer she will be out working again and loving every minute. Our fox red Lab is an elderly 12 and creaky with it now but at 5 years old we stopped just using her at the peg and her had rough shooting including finding and flushing game. She absolutely loved it and had 5 brilliant years of semi retirement.
😅 oh how cute 😂 i couldnt stop laughing at dad i want cuddles ... shows you care about the dogs you have and although training is serious business... loving goes along way too.. ❤
I think your dogs are the happiest dogs on UA-cam ! I seen a ridiculous amount of training videos from various people trying to learn how to help our lab and yours just look so happy to be with their trainers ! So cool !
I'd like some pointers on the process of sending a dog back. My 4yr old Lab will go back along a hedge-line we've walked if we've been training with the dummy. He must sense there's a chance i've laid a blind retrieve for him. But I can't get him to go back across an open field unless he has a memory or sighted retrieve, i.e. I can't command him to 'go back' in that circumstance. Great videos, really enjoying
Charlie, I've got a 3 year old Springer( male), beautiful dog from very good hunting stock although I don't hunt. Got him aged 8 months. He has a few bad habits...pulling on the lead, not always coming close enough to get hold of him (never disappears though) and occasionally running round me in wide circles with the ball in his mouth (he also likes to mouth the ball). I'm 72 and not an athlete, fairly fit yes, but I've been running him loose on a long lead for quite a while which means I can always put my foot on it to get him back under my control. Generally very obedient, sits up on command, will stay sat at 50 yards, no problem, etc. Question: at his age can those bad habits be corrected?
Interesting. Thanks. I've soon got a German rescue Covid puppy, Bracco Italiano, broken marriage (Covid did many a damage!) and 3 years of no training, no basics, no exercise as he pulls, nothing, except what foster has done. So I'm going to treat him like a puppy and build up in small bite size stages. I'm assuming his brain has never been stretched from puppy head to adult head!! I have also a 11 month Bracco, and if the German boy is quite as receptive to training , they'll both be picking up next season!!! (ever hopeful)
Hi Nick, I also have an 11 month old Bracco! He the 3rd we've owned. He's doing well in some aspects of training but recently he's been doing his own thing hunting pheasants. How are you getting on with yours...is he totally under control? Or do you have issue like ours? Any pointers (lol) would be appreciated. Cheers Mike
Pansy has obviously missed you whilst she's been in with the puppies. Ticked the box on everything, except the jumping up. She just couldn't stop herself.

She’s like a big koala clinging to your leg 😅. Lovely video again!

How do you keep your male dogs concentrating on training etc while there is a female nearby on heat ? Do you have to keep the boys far away ?
HA thank god my dog isn’t naughty that’d be awful *scribbles down notes while sobbing tears of denial*
