Well the way I look at it. The pig kidney could buy enough time for the portable kidney and artificial kidney to be developed. Much better than being hooked up to a dialysis machine.

These modern doctors don't even understand the psychological state or the pain of the patient.
I ONLY trust Indian doctors who have passed out in 70's and 80's because their diagnosis of the problem is totally different and is rock solid.

the question is not whether or not the organ can be transplanted. but the compatibility of the animal organ to the human recipient. not every animal organ can be compatible to human. unless like in this case they genetically altered the animals genes to reduce rejection. the implications need to be studied closely. there is not enough data to make this popular. but keep your fingers crossed and keep studying the case, and tissue compatibility.
