When has privatising anything in this country been a success? Housing Associations are an abomination, selling off energy to foreign entities was a disaster. Why? Because it all becomes about profit, not service.

I'm sure the Brexiteers will be here any minute now with the £350M a week, and that they definitely don't want to destroy the NHS for profit.

Privatisation was the most elitist- not egalitarian- version of government.

Solution, sorry but a free nhs has been abused and misused nowadays, and being half orcadian 🇳🇴 myself, id be happy for both orkney and Shetland to brake off from both Scotland and the UK and rejoin it grand blooded Viking roots, and have easy access to Norway 🇳🇴 , Sweden 🇸🇪 and Finland 🇫🇮, and have its own Nordic passort, with instant schengen visa accessibility 😊

How disrespectful to the British public can you be!?
We should all have choices and be able to go wherever we want to receive treatment. To basically say that people just want to “go round the corner” is ridiculous! What if “round the corner” has the worst surgeons or doctors in the uk?? And you would like to go elsewhere because you want better care?
I usually like Vanessa and she does speak a lot of sense but today she has let her bbc brain click in and has joined the throng of NHS worshipers.
    Privatisation is the only way.

  • @diesel92kj1

The solution 100%, the NHS is an absolute failure & private is 10x better.
The NHS budget back to the population would amount to £2500 roughly and that is considerably more than a BUPA membership.
If you earn under 25k it should be "free" but over that insurance should be mandated like car insurance, why should you buy a Range Rover and not look after your health first.

Having a part privatised system where using it being tax deductible could be a good idea. Those who can’t afford private don’t get taxed much in the first place so so would be better off waiting on the NHS, while companies or individuals who can afford private health insurance could be better off taking the tax deduction and not using the NHS, thus taking pressure off it so it’s a better service for those who still use it. Also bare in mind that older people need healthcare much more and are more likely to be able to afford insurance in the first place.

Why is childbirth part of the National HEALTH Service? Isn't the ability to bear children evidence of good HEALTH? I think the NHS should concentrate its' resources on treating diseases & injuries. It was never intended to cover EVERY aspect of health care. Offering a tax incentive to wealthy people may be unpalatable to lefties, but, if it reduces waiting lists for the rest of us, it seems like win win, so why not?

    • @a70770
      @a70770 4 місяці тому

Childbirth is HEALTHcare. If it were not covered by the nhs, women would give birth without any sort of aftercare or help from midwives, and so many babies and mothers would die.
Also, the NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE is supposed to cover as many aspects of health as possible. That's why it's THE nhs and not just an nhs

Religion was the most primitive form of government (just like the British NHS), but today, in a more secular, interconnected world, we need freedom for people to choose between private, and socialist government (or healthcare, as provided in all other countries)!!!

The NHS is haemorrhaging money, there are many people, from many socioeconomic backgrounds who believe that adopting the American system and it's high quality of healthcare is the only way to go. The NHS being sold to US healthcare companies could form the centrepiece of a trade deal and closer union with the United states.

So....if the same staff, the same money is available how is the private sector going to do it better?
What are they going to do to drastically improve the service?
Just ask yourself this? What is the GOAL of a private company?
To make the maximum amount of money possible, if they also provide good health care then that's a bonus, but they only care about the bottom line
The GOAL of a public service is in the name, its to provide a public service
    This really isn't rocket science
Referencing the IEA? LOL, Doesn't he work for them? LOL
