Some people might not realize that Collision triggers have tons of potential of their usage like this one for example, using collision for looping and optimization purposes. Collsion is actually pretty straighforward to use, like it's not hard as people think. Glad you covering that up, so people can see full potential of Collision triggers because clearly some people didn't use them very often.
Loved this video, super excited for all the others to come :) Been wanting an explanatory thingy for neat effects in levels for a LOOOOONG time, and I think Jam Factory is such a perfect example.
Super cool and helpful video! I wanted something like this for a while. Might actually try to use this sometime but I'll probably have to rewatch this because I'm dumb lol. Would like to see more videos like this :)
You can also make group 4 follow player x and then make all the other groups have a negative x offset when following group 4, this makes the speed of the parallax stay consistent with the player speed and prevents the parallax from breaking when you go through a speed portal Edit: also the custom swingcopter in golden shine uses “”move to””, it’s definitely not useless
yea. The only thing is that with that method, it's really hard to get the smaller scales to move the right amount. There might be a way to get that to work with the collision method tho. And yea move to or use target is very useful.
Ik this is from a year ago any you prob wont reply, but i started watching your creator logs, and in the cellar path you made a parallax with the windows and boxes and i wanted to try to recreate that but i wasnt getting the same results, do you think you could show how to do that? And im wondering if you have to also make the obstacles move, but idk.
Hey Jam. How did you connect the parallax blocks to the collision happening? I had the same group ID as the dynamic block, but it causes the mechanism to break
Do you think it be possible to make simple boolean logic gates? I had this idea for a really wacky layout that used logic gates, but after bashing my head at the editor trying to figure out how to make them, i just gave up.
Suddenly I'm feeling very stupid with my 35k 1:30 level that takes a fucking decade to calculate the start position because of the several hundreds of move triggers. Oh well, I guess I'll optimize the next one...
Bro i thought you meant relax but in an professional way (idk alot of English)i wanted to be relaxed bc i need to play a horror game (just the door 100 im not scared i know how to beat it but anxiety comes in place)
in the last one, what is being spawned?!?!?!? what is the spawn trigger spawning and what are its properties because that's the piece im missing!!! pls
can somebody help me ive spent 5 hours copying everything he does in his video and i cannot for the life of me get anything to work, what always happens is that i keeps going one way and gets to where it looks like the camera has rotated 90 degrees around and you cannot see the player anymore
No he's just an executive that manages everything such as finding new ways to legally pay our employees as little as possible and how many neurotoxins jam can contain before people notice. He is not the face of the company, he runs things behind the scenes.

yea collision triggers are awesome. I'll probably do another video on how I used collision clocks for the flicker masks in this level
@@JamAttack wheres that video bro
@@stormstudios1it will be ready… when he remember that he commented that
with 2.2 they are even more usefull, now they are my favorite trigger (:
I was wondering how you made it look so smooth
Really good video on this, also liked the Mumbo Jumbo part lol

I cannot tell how much this tutorial helped me, THANK YOUUUU
criminally underrated youtuber. thank you!
I’m curios to see how those spinning arrows work at the end. Maybe you could do a video on those?
ye probably in a bonus vid since it's hard to cover much time just talking about those
I assume modeled in blender and then just traced frame by frame. Am I right?
@@megadubstepxd9462 pretty sure jam made everything in-game, but i could be wrong lol
@@notraeon ye he did, it's the easiest to model it in blender and tracing every frame, but yeah you can also make it all in gd
@@megadubstepxd9462 ah i see
Pretty simple yet super cool
awesome
I now know what things I did wrong
also, thanks for making this! It's really helpful :)
Wow, this is the best way to get parallax working.
Nice video
0:05 LO0ol "Preeeee-sen-tation"
Yo jam I actually just made it myself bc I don't understand and I was randomizing the number and I got it nowhere
I not understand
I get so tired of seeing incorrect parallaxes lol. Nice tutorial tho, learned a couple new things from this too
These are underrated tricks @JamAttack I love it and also if you’re reading this this is the 100th commeng
How would I make the paralax follow the player? If I lock it onto X, it just "moves" slowly away, since the trigger tries to "loop" the paralax.
This is my favorite level
Super cool and helpful video! I wanted something like this for a while. Might actually try to use this sometime but I'll probably have to rewatch this because I'm dumb lol. Would like to see more videos like this :)
This video was so simple, Now im gonna try it myself. 2 hours later...
yeah literally not simple at all
I didnt understan anything but this is cool
that's why optical is the goat

Cool effect.I'm just curious how to use this on a static gameplay part, Like how -sdslayer- AudeoVisual did his 100 layer paralax effect.
How did you made the arrows in that ship that spin? It looks so cool
I'll probably put that one in a bonus video since there's less to talk about but it is frame by frame
Can you give me the level so i can inspect the mechanicsm because i dont understand
0:46 how "What is it" by booglee is made
mumbo jumbo must get into the geometry dash creator community

Awesome! I must ask though, what is your favorite flavor of Jam?
Raspberry but there's no raspberry emoji as far as I'm aware
@@JamAttackRaspberry is definitely one if not my favorite jam as well. Good choice :D
I like grape jam
Love you jam
Hey uh jamAttack, your level has a
Copyable folder ( no passcode ). So maybe you can add one?
Hey Jam. How did you connect the parallax blocks to the collision happening? I had the same group ID as the dynamic block, but it causes the mechanism to break
you give them different groups, and have them follow the collision block with "follow triggers"
@@JamAttack Oh hell yes! IT'S WORKING! Now it all makes sense. This is ingenious. Thank you Jam (for responding so quickly too)
is crazy how you can do all this with only a few triggers now i 2.2
Jam you are awesome
Do you think it be possible to make simple boolean logic gates? I had this idea for a really wacky layout that used logic gates, but after bashing my head at the editor trying to figure out how to make them, i just gave up.
Not sure if you still need it, but I think I can help you
Instant Count trigger
wait.. so there was an easier way to do a parallax pattern other than brute forcing move triggers until it looks right?
technically yeah
I cant get the collision one to work
Suddenly I'm feeling very stupid with my 35k 1:30 level that takes a fucking decade to calculate the start position because of the several hundreds of move triggers.

Ayooo nice tutorial!
the first person I heard talking abt parallax was zy and he messed it up in his level lmaoo
Bro i thought you meant relax but in an professional way (idk alot of English)i wanted to be relaxed bc i need to play a horror game (just the door 100 im not scared i know how to beat it but anxiety comes in place)
in the last one, what is being spawned?!?!?!? what is the spawn trigger spawning and what are its properties because that's the piece im missing!!! pls
The spawn trigger activates other triggers
can somebody help me ive spent 5 hours copying everything he does in his video and i cannot for the life of me get anything to work, what always happens is that i keeps going one way and gets to where it looks like the camera has rotated 90 degrees around and you cannot see the player anymore
i got it to where whenever i set it to 2000 it has the correct paralax effect however the actual thing zooms by the player
How did you "speed up the camera" in your level?
easing
still too much of a smooth brain to understand
3:08
My mine is not working
THX
Its funny to me what you consider as "simple" xD
Yeah but how do i do the math hm?
If someone wanted to make a parallax wouldn't they wanna know how to do the math?
Can you upload this thing on geometry dash? would be helpful
Lol awesome video
Hmmmmm thank you
I am vroom
Now use scale trigger
Nooooooooooooooo😢 I thought the nearest ones were the slowest ones 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 I thought you said that pls forgive me
Hello can i get strawberry jam
7:33 he please fixed it :D
My brain is too monke to still understand
Hmm, the guy on thumbnail kinda looks like me...
wow..
This is like the coding "tutorials" by motleyorc. You will literally not make anymore of these.
i thought the ceo was jason jibbles

lol i made it 1000 likes
research or something
Ok but you didn’t make the best effect, lasagna
John Lasagna
This is not a very good tutorial. You don't explain things very well.
Sтfu ur just not very smart smh
didn’t even learn how to actually make jam, 0/10
