For the first few minutes I thought you really bought a washing machine! However I got half guess right since I said lathe + bar feeder, but you exceeded my expectations with the live tooling and Y axis! Very nice machine, you will have fun with a brand new metal shredder for the first time.

Good move going with the Siemens 828.
A Very Good Controller, a very good choice.
The Doosan Lathes are a good choice and not overpriced for what you get.
You pretty much got every option available for this machine.
The only down side is you will learn to hate the other machines in your shop after you use this one.
I hope everything goes well for you in your shop, as i do not need to remind you that these machines are Not cheap to buy.
All the Best for the future.

I don't know about their Y-axis lathes but their regular slant-bed lathes are very good in my experience.
The Siemens control runs Windows Embedded and has numerous language options for macros, from Siemens' own STEP7 language to C/C++, Fortran or even Visual Basic. I have heard of people writing complete machining programs in Visual Basic.

How do you manage to find such amazing deals on used lathes ? Here in the tool dessert of the United States I can't find anything and I really need to find a smaller but heavy lathe. Something in the 1660 range probably about 5000 to 7000 pounds 7 1/2 to 10 hp or 7.5 kw or there abouts. Enjoy your new machine!
