  • These commercials aired on USA in spring of 1995 and August 26th, 1996
    1. Hi-C ("Drink it while there's still time" What a depressing message to send to kids, even if it's true)
    2. Apple Jacks (Who eats bowls of cereal in a baseball dugout? These kids with their Apple Jacks and their rap music are simply out of control! With Stunt Race FX car mail away)
    3. Liberty Toyota
    4. Navy
    5. Kool Aid (With X-Men and Spider Man Comics mailaway. Jesus, Kool Aid man! Can't you give a damn comic book away without asking for your damned points?)
    6. Tyco R/C Firepower
    7. Promo for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"
    8. Monster Bash
    9. USA Cartoon Express Commercial Bumper
    10. "Hulk Hogan Rock 'n' Wrestling" End Credits (I desperately wanted to include the intro to this in the last volume because it's so ridiculous but it was blocked so I had to take it out. So this brief glimpse will have to suffice. RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper)
    11. SAFEFit (I totally remember this one. This is where the August '96 commercials start)
    12. USA Station ID
    13. Kirby Superstar for SNES (With Earl Boen, who played Dr. Silberman in The Terminator movies)
    14. British Knights Ratch Tech
    15. Honey Comb (With free call in Vote Card. I bet kids were just lining up around the block to vote for Bob Dole)
    16. Shiwala
    17. Froot Loops (With color change squirter!)
    18. Spider-Man Pasta
    19. Pop Tarts (With the voice of Gilbert Gottfried)
    20. Promo for "1996 U.S. Open"
    21. Monster Bash
    22. USA Cartoon Express Commercial Bumper

As someone who grew up in Colorado Springs in the mid 90s, the Liberty Toyota commercial at 1:00 is BLOWING MY MIND.

am I the only one that noticed the US Open background music was the theme for WCW Thunder...? (And this was on USA Network, home of WWF Raw is War)

That HI-C commercial is 10x more depressing to watch as an adult

It's sad that cartoons are nearly extinct on television nowadays. Broadcast stations don't show them anymore, thanks to that act the FCC passed, and most cable networks like USA, Sci-Fi (sorry, Sy*ugh*fy), TNT, TBS, WGN, have completely done away with them. The Disney Channel, Nick, and Cartoon Network and their related channels are the only channels that air them anymore, and given how much they've been declining in recent years I don't see them lasting forever. That's going to be a depressing day when that happens.

    "So hot, it's practically radioactive!!"
Don't you love how the more dangerous or gross something sounded as a kid, the better it sounded? That marketing slogan for Spider-Man pasta is right up there with Turtle Pie's "Fresh from the sewers, to you!"

The girl from the honeycomb commercial was in the "pizza" song with mary-kate and ashley olsen. With further research she is Brighton Hertford.

Rock N Wrestling was on USA Cartoon Express? Ok I don't remember that being there at all. That's just as ridiculous as kids voting for president! Oh wait.
I also hated seeing ads for the US Open on USA every year because that meant summer was ending and back to school ugh.

80'scommercialvault guy. Thanks for taking time out of your day to edit these videos for us to watch. It means a lot, brings back good memories. Feels like I went through a time warp. Now that I'm 28, maybe we will all watch commercials from 2010 to 2020 and think wow I remember those days! It really puts a perspective on on how time flys and life is short. Anyway thank you, keep posting and i will keep watching!

It's so ridiculous watching these commercials as an adult. I remember watching them as a kid and going bananas from some of the marketing techniques. (I was born in 86). Thanks for posting!

Because I totally want to eat radioactive pasta
Then again, if doing so gave me pasta based powers, like always breaking into three pieces or being able to stick to anything for the rest of time when dry, I might give it a go.

they did the Arsenio Hall "woof woof woof" at the end of that Apple Jacks ad LOL

It's funny seeing a commercial for Kirby Super Star nowadays, because that's been the biggest Kirby analogue horror out there~. It absolutely wrecks Sonic.exe on all fronts~

By the way, which show was "Inside Out" accused of ripping off?
Any show that centered on "characters inside someone's brain/body who controlled/influenced them, often using a command panel".

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  9 років тому +2

+Gaucelm de Villaret Herman's Head, a sitcom on Fox, was very similar in concept to "Inside Out". Though actually Disney made an animated short during WWII that was similar as well. ua-cam.com/video/nvp3zAPraF4/v-deo.html

Not just "Herman's Head", but there are many animated shorts that have animated characters representing emotions controlling their actions through commands. Just check the TVTropes "Hilarious in Hindsight" page (though I don't find it hilarious).
