8:33.... a ten mile hike..... to the office?!?! Holy crap!!! That's some serious dedication

I would definitely recommend the Riftcore over this for any type of non-mall walk, I have one and use a Malaga for minimal EDC carry - that is all that a single strap system is good for. For proper EDC that might include photography, I use and absolutely love a Vanquest Trident-20, highly recommended!

I have a Riftcore, Riftpoint, Sitka, and a little Remora, along with a bunch of their pouches... Maxpedition makes the nicest toughest bags out there, bar none.
I like sling packs for urban ccw/edc stuff, but they're awful for a mile+ on a trail...
The Riftpoint is a great day hike option for the basics.
The Riftcore is about right for a quick overnight, especially if you snooze in a hammock, and as a get-home or go-get-someone pack.

I bought a gray Maxpedition Gridflux bag a little over a month ago, and it's the perfect EDC bag for me. I use it as you described in your video - short commutes, say from the car to the office or around town.
The only gripe I have about the bag is with the elastic bands inside the admin compartment. They are too far apart to hold many things securely, and it was aggravating to have things like a multitool slip out of the elastic after closing the zippers. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but it is something I would like to see Maxpedition address.
    Great video - as always!

Nice! Good Organization for an Urban Commuter. I'd probably add a Water Bottle Carrier to the Topside Molle and use the zipper carrier for a Rain Jacket. For the CCW Pocket, just go to Wally World, get a Roll Up Cutting Board and trim it to fit. Should stiffen it right up. That small pocket? Spare Batteries, Lighter, Gum, Tic-tacs, Key Chain Flashlight, Spare keys, Harmonica, Ear Buds, you know, Odds and Ends. Hope this helps.

Good video! I think one of the biggest challenges Maxpedition has is in there pricing. Competitors entered the market with lower pricing and innovative products. This product is less than innovative, but the pricing is much more competitive. Take a look at the most recent version of Hazard 4 Plan B sling bag for comparison. I agree with you on the limitations of sling packs, they are not suitable for long hikes or heavy loads. And the asymmetrical design of the straps is a recipe for neck and back pain. They make good commuter, survey and photography packs.

I've been using this as my EDC bag for the last 6 months. I'm very happy with it. Amazing bag. I carry my iPad and sometimes my macbook Air. Very handy.

I would put a folder or a document envelope in back compartment for documents or maps. Emergency maglite and cordage in side mesh and hanging loops. Outside (what you are calling water bottle pocket is for full sized umbrella. Hope this helps

Think tablet goes in front fleece lined pocket. Protects screen. Rear pocket is for deck shoes and such why it's deep but flat. Remember it's layed out like a suit case.

They make such great stuff! Just don't like how their whole lines are so tactical looking. Wish they could make a bag that wouldn't standout so much.

I really wanted to like sling bags but could never get used to them. I guess I have a habit of carrying too much stuff. Backpacks are always more comfortable. This is a cool looking bag though.
