I injured my knee after I made reservations and I am already contemplating moving slowly in Disney where people pack in especially during the fireworks. Beats cancelling my trip. Thanks
Me too - massive knee effusion 10 days before departure and I’m looking at ways to handle this bump in the road - thank you for making this video and giving people like me hope.
We are going to Disney 3 weeks after my Hip Replacement surgery. We are renting a scooter for me. Hopefully recovery is going to be quick . With the new process recovery is better and quicker from what I’ve heard . Thanks for the video. Wish me luck ya’ll.
No honestly thank you man. Its not often that able body people get to see what its like to be handicap and the challenges it brings i hope you get better soon brother
OkieEllie Thank you for watching. No, we did not request an accessible room. At the time we booked, We had no need for one. The room that we showed in the video was just a regular room, not accessible.
Thank you so much for watching. I know there are outlets in the parks, but I never needed them. The ECV that I rented was charged in our room every night. It never dropped below full charge on any part of our trip and we were on the go all day. I probably could have gone the week without charging to tell you the truth. One day I went to Hollywood Studios for a couple of hours, drove it Epcot through the Boardwalk path, and around Epcot the rest of the day - the charge level did not drop at all.
richard lyon Thank you for watching. I did not look into that. I was able to walk short distances, but my doctor did not want me walking long distances because of the severity of my injury.
@@DISOurDream I did - I heard if you have like Muscular Dystrophy then yes but for mobility issues then no. Maybe if you have a cast you qualify but I don't because I just have a mobility issue (injured knee) and can't walk long distances.
@@citticat2 not trying to argue, but they are not allowed to ask your condition. It is easy to get a DAS, I know a lot of people that get one and they have no issue at all. If you want one, they will give it to you.
Electric scooters make Disney suck!!!! I've been in a wheelchair for 42 years as a result of a car accident and spent 6 months in a rehab hospital learning how to use a wheelchair. People rent these ECV's with no training. I've been run into by "scooter people" on every trip I've been on and most of these individuals are extremely rude with a self righteous attitude. As you stated, they have a fast mode and yes, people in the parks are on their Disney app making fast pass, etc... so yes, they are not looking and just because people don't know how to drive these things doesn't give anyone special rights. I've seen kids rent these things with no regard to people who genuinely need accommodations just to joyride through the parks. Disney needs to require a limited speed for these devices and limit people using these devices to only ride rides that are wheelchair accessible. If this were to happen, this walk when its convenient/ride when convenient would stop.
Yes I totally hear you. Sorry to hear about your negative experiences....I think people need to slow down and be aware of what is going on around them for sure. Thank you for watching.
There are also people like he said that don't pay attention walk right on front of the ecv that people do need to use or stop right in the middle of the walkway or street in front of them. I went to Disney and need one because I have trouble walking long distance and used turtle mode but the stop was delayed a second or two when you let go of the handle the people gave me a look like it was my fault if there was a slight bump. People need to learn that they should look where they are going and what is going on around them. Do not just jump infront of a ecv or stop in the middle of the pathways to look at a map or your phone get out of the middle to do that.
Really cool vlog about your experience with an EVC at Disney World! Way to go in Rabbit mode! That was awesome! Love it! ♡ Kelly
The Mickey Bunch Thank you, hopefully will not need it in June.
@@DISOurDream Hope you heal quickly and are ready for your trip in June. Hopefully we'll see you at the parks! ♡

Welcome to my every day bro
Thank you for watching. Sorry you need an ECV for everyday life.

Marathon Watching 8/16/21 Get Well Soon (for when this video was made.) Hope you still had fun. Did you find more ramps or more elevators ?!
Yeah, that was rough on an ECV. We did find more ramps and elevators. Thank you for watching Edward.

Did you have to find outlets in the parks to plug your ECV in to charge the battery? Was this an easy task?

Are you able to get a DAS for being on a scooter?

@@DISOurDream DAS are not used for these kinds of mobility issues.

If someone hit my chair with a rental scooter i would be doing some things that would get me banned from disney i guarantee that
