It was so messed up in s2 how they tried to make Matt the bad guy it’s ok for Leigh to move on without Matt being made into an asshole :/ hopefully there will be s3 though I’m captivated by her story I lost my sister at age 15 in 2013 so I know the pain and grief very well this show still helps me process it even years later
icexplura yeah season 2 was a... really mixed bag for me. I was so captivated by season 1 because it was about how multifaceted mourning can be, and the best parts of season 2 were about other people’s experiences of grieving Matt. But Danny and Leigh’s on/off romance just felt very soap opera-y to me and took up a lot of time that could’ve been better dedicated to each person individually, or to Matt’s mom and/or Leigh’s mom.
the truth about Matt just started to come out. no one made him an asshole, we just had to accept who he was. my friend tragically died when we were 14 years old, so I understand you too.
I just saw the show now, found it later. I don't think they made Matt a bad guy, that was just showing more and more sides of him. He was flawed too, and that is okay. It's not like as if cheated on her either (although he possibly being in love with someone else is devastating for Leigh).
i think they were simply showing that just because someone’s dead doesn’t mean they didn’t make mistakes. matt is more than a tragedy, he had his own complex life behind the mourning of his family
Someone please tell me we can save this show and get a season 3 or maybe more. I finished it tomorrow and now I can’t just live with the fact that it got cancelled after that ending
