To celebrate Paramount+ launching in the UK, our Jodie McCallum sat down with the stars of HALO! Yes, the popular video game has been turned into a TV series.
Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.
The series stars Pablo Schreiber (Master Chief, John-117), Natascha McElhone (Dr. Halsey), Jen Taylor (Cortana), Bokeem Woodbine (Soren-066) and more.

Well... it's certainly not all bad 😅
Although i did not like where they went with the story, it was done in a competent way, for the most part.
I do wish we spent some more time with the covenant. There is so much potential, if you're looking into humanizing the characters of halo, to also "humanize" the aliens. Season 2 was way better at this, but i would still like to see more of that. It makes it so much more interesting when it's not just "humans vs monsters". It will also make people who don't have any insight into the halo universe relate more to the aliens and the religious cause of their covenant, and make the stakes feel more impactful. The games are able to do this with just a few seconds of dialogue. Surely the show can as well?
I also wish they didn't push all this weird fairy-tale nonsense with kwan ha and what's-her-face: Halo has SO much mystery just built into the universe, you hardly need to make it a fantasy story about sages and prophecies and magic. Suspending disbelief is what sci-fi is all about. This is not star wars.
Finally, i'm glad to say the character development was pretty decent for most characters, and i particularly like the portrayal of Halsey. I don't know if this is thanks to the writers, or the actor, or both. Regardless, she is probably the best thing to happen to this show and i look forward to each scene with her. Her family dynamic is great too.
The atmosphere and environmental storytelling is good enough, but leaves a little to be desired. Hollywood needs to take a step back and let the world speak for itself in this one.

So? I’ve never once played Halo. It’s still a good show since there is sci-if, mystery, a little drama. Just finished the second season and I thought it was great
@@1DarkBlossom no it sucks it's an incoherent polt any thing you will find interesting or will ask questions or want to learn more about is from the games the plot holes and dislikeable characters are every where
@@bradyshea5403 huge halo fan here, i loved the paramount series. Sometimes... just like Nolans version of the Dark Knight you need to make changes in order for it to fit cinema.
Despite it not being Canon, but somewhat still on the plot. The sheet budget and love that went into the series makes it wonderful
