since you are new generator owners, here is a tip. Start your generator, let it warm up and THEN plug in your load. Also, UNPLUG your load before turning off the generator. Your travels certainly make me want to go there. Thanks and good luck with your stubbed toe!
Wow - you really know how to produce a cliffhanger!! Hope ya'll are okay and disaster repaired. We've enjoyed the Canada Alaska series as this trip is one of many we plan to do.
That was awesome! My heart was pounding for you but yeah, so cool crossing the river with you. OMG right! What a way to end it. Next Thursday can't get here quick enough.
My husband and I are also member of the Sourtoe Cocktail Club! We absolutely loved Dawson City. We took the ferry across and drove the Top of the World Highway just to the city limits, but even there, the view was incredible. Hope your disaster wasn't too bad!
I just want to tell you that I very much enjoyed taking the journey to Alaska with you. I myself live in British Columbia and have worked in many of the areas you traveled through. Thank you this trip. Dean
For Real, you are going to make us wait an entire week to see what happened? I should have waited until next week to watch this video so then I could just watch the second video without waiting a week! 😊
Loved your guys riding on the ferry. We have done it a lot here in South Central IL. because we live just an hour from the Mississippi River and take drives over to Mo. all the time. We always take the back roads b/c of the beautiful scenery and the ferry rides. It's so cool to do! Everyone needs at least one ferry ride in their life. Dexter ROCKED it!
Did you just leave us “hanging with the Hanks??”😂😂😂😂 Thank you for the giggles along the way and loved the video across the water/ferry from the upper cab of your camper ❤ hope all is well….see ya next week…hanging with the Hanks🤪🤣😂
Not sure about the cocktail….. you two are the funniest yet the most informative travelers…. Love your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us.
Wowah, Woes and Sourtoes!! The Hanks are living it up in the Great North. But seriously- y’all left us hanging, by our toes!!!😢😊 Carl - what’s the skinny? a hitchhiking squirrel needed a bath? C’mon let us know Hope all is okay
You guys are such a hoot!! I’ve been watching you for quite a while and now I’ve got my husband watching!! We just wait for the next episode to see what the kids are up to. I sure hope you’re not stranded in the middle of nowhere!!❤
We went to AK this summer took many of the roads you did and stopped at a lot of the same place. It rained when we did the Top of the World highway. In the US there was 20 miles of slippery section. It was being graded at the time. The CDN section was all gravel, wide road and no pot holes. We went from Mid August to End of August. No problem with fuel, tires or windshield. Lots of animals. We found restaurant food expensive. Well worth the trip. We found it rained a lot and was cool and damp. Gas was $2 CDN a liter in Canada and $5.25 US a gallon in AK.
Top of the World highway and Dawson City are two of the greatest reasons for trip to Alaska. We returned on the TOW highway on Monday the 28th of August about 5 days ahead of you. We were headed back to Skagway for our final month of work.
Hi Carl and NeNe. GReat content, as always. I've got a side note for ya. If I'm correct your basically based out of Pa. I ask only because I just came back to Fl. from Pa. I spend the summers there. On the way back I stop at Cracker Barrels to eat and get a hotel nearby. I noticed in every one of them a soda I had never seen before, not that I was really looking, anyway. I don't know how long the soda company has been in business, but what do my eyes fall upon but a soda by the name of "Hank's " Genuine seasonal Caramel Apple Cream Soda, 12 oz. the bottles are also specialy made with the Hank's name on it. I talked to the manager at my local Barrel, and if I understood her correctly they also have a plant in Port St. Lucie, Fl, But they're based out of Southhampton, Pa. So am I late to the party or are you connected to this somehow? Curious Minds. Thanks Rusty.
Hey guys, love your channel, we watch every Thursday, so keep 'em coming. I saw that you were worried about riding the brakes. Why not use the exhaust brake? Your GMC should have one and with it you can go downhill without touching the brakes. Well, you actually have to tap the brakes to activate it.
Belated back-in-time "Welcome Back to Canada, Eh." Thanks for showing all the detail of the Yukon River ferry at Dawson City, with all your camera angle views and fun commentary. River ferries definitely are a fun different experience, compared to sheltered ocean ferry routes. Thanks, as always, for your fun and entertaining approach to documenting your travels. Cheers from Vancouver Island !
The Territorial Campground across the river is wonderful. A short walk down the shore leads to the wreckage of paddle wheelers. The ferry ride is so interesting because the current grabs hold of the ferry sweeping it downstream, and the ferry works it’s heart out battling against the current to make it to the other shore. Dawson City is one of our most favourite RV destinations, simply because it is so authentic.
OMG!! That looked like a rear tire that took out the fresh water tank. 😢😢 so sad for you guys. The trip was going great. Replace all the tires NOW. The others will go soon too!
Thanks for the videos but sadly it looks like your fresh tank did not like the wwight of Dawson City water?? Cros fingers not too hard to repairs for the rest of your trip!! Stay safe!!
I really enjoy your channel. If you get to the North Carolina area, there is a free ferry to the north end of Ocracoke Island and then a national park campground to stay on the island. I have been there a number of times and really enjoyed the visit there.
I love your photoshopped picture on the video tile of your rig on top of a house boat. Great work! I hope your tire issue ends well. Guess I'll have to wait til next week. Thanks again.
My family crossed the Mississippi River in 1973 in our Dodge Travco camper on a ferry like that. It was kind of freaky but fun. I was 8 years old. We traveled across the country for 6 months and hit a lot of KOA's. It was a blast. 🤩
Wow Dale, congrats!!! That's fantastic news and good on you for being willing to take on such an adventure at this stage in your career. Being born and raised in the Peace River Country, you'll enjoy the long days of summer but Winters, not so much. 😉 But Canwest is a good company from what I've heard. Grande Prairie is well equipped, similar to Kamloops and you'll enjoy the tax breaks of being in Alberta. Welcome to Wild Rose Country!!!
Great channel I really enjoy it. I noticed something about your generator It needs a ground wire same for your battery inverter. I have a small ground rod for mine that I hammer into the ground and attach a wire to a terminal on the generator.
I am really glad that the trip was fun in Dawson City. I am not sure I would be able to do the toe drink though. I will have to put that on my list. I am not sure what happened at the end. I hope all is well and you were able to get back on the road in a decent amount of time. I am still on the east coast and hope to meet up at some point.
Consider increasing the frequency of your oil changes. No more than 5K miles at the most. Don't pay any attention to that oil change reading on your dash - unless you want to replace your engine. And pulling that RV, if you have a gasser, no more than 3K between changes.
Good video 😊just saying there at least you tubers that are up in Alaska they have all been on ferry some short crossing other longer but now are coming back to lower 48 safe travels 🤔😀
You got to ride the ferry with Tommy Taylor at the helm. His final year running the ferry before retiring. The TOTWH varies by year, sometimes the road is great and sometimes it's awful. Have an excellent trip South.
Stayed at the Gold Rush Campground for 2 nights in 1999 and enjoyed exploring Dawson City but forest fire smoke so thick visibility only about 1/2 mile and tough to take! Did not do the Sour Toe!
We crossed the Ottawa river on the ferry to go to O'ka Provincial Park last summer, and it is discerning to be in your vehicle and watching the water flow past you.
Your entire Canadian adventure is what I enjoy most about your channel. Your travels. I can do without the "how too," videos although, I'm certain it's very important to people who travel the way you both do. Not certain I'd eat food in restaurant that serves human toes in your drink! You're very brave. I just enjoy watching you guys enjoy your very blessed lives on the road!😄 But no thanks to the human toe drinks.🤢
Check your owner's manual or mfg for your truck, but I believe if you're on a long decent and feel you need to ride the brakes, you should use a lower gear to let your transmission help. It should be built for it. I don't believe you have diesel which then you would have an engine break. And of course you could adjust your trailer break as well. But don't want to heat them up either.
I travel with fresh water tank at 1/3 to reduce weight and protect tank. Carry five gallon containers in truck bed. Also I can pump river water into containers if needed. Now we wait a week to learn more. Poor Dexter.
I got a question?, your tires, how many miles are you able to get on your set, I have Michelin, did you have to get a tire fixed on your trip to the YUKON, or did you replace them once you got back to the lower 48, Love watching your travels to the yukon, will be looking for your next video next Thursday, when you get back to the lower 48, are you going to break it down on what things cost?, where to get fuel, what app if any did you use to plan your route, fuel, locations to stop? Thank you so much for sharing your adventures, we don't get out like we would like, we can experience you travels through you guys, May God bless each a every mile you travel.
Welcome to the club! In order to get by the "toe", in my mind it was a Tootsie Toe! We drove the opposite direction this summer. Lost our driver side mirror just outside Chicken. It happened so fast that I still don't know if it was a large rock or the vehicle going uphill to DC that kissed our mirror. Yeah, the paved road on the US side ten miles from the border. Then back to the gravel.
I so look forward to Thursdays! I noticed in an earlier video there was like a board with a peg holding the pillows in the recliners. Do they have another purpose or just hold pillows for travel? Waiting for next Thursday
We took our travel trailer on the Alaska Marine Ferry. Had to back it off making a 90 degree turn because we were getting off midway through the inside passage. Just a little pressure!!
Hope y’all don’t have to call a Toe-Truck 😂
Nice one!
I get it…..😂
HA
Lol
Ha I see what you did there.
since you are new generator owners, here is a tip. Start your generator, let it warm up and THEN plug in your load. Also, UNPLUG your load before turning off the generator. Your travels certainly make me want to go there. Thanks and good luck with your stubbed toe!
C'mon! Can't just leave us hanging for a week like that 🤦♂️ great series btw....really liking the Alaska stuff 👌
Nice cliff hanger at the end. What did you forget to close the black water valve. LoL😂
My husband and I are also member of the Sourtoe Cocktail Club! We absolutely loved Dawson City. We took the ferry across and drove the Top of the World Highway just to the city limits, but even there, the view was incredible. Hope your disaster wasn't too bad!

Wow. What a Ferry good video with a Toeriffic cliff hanger. Until next week. Same Hanks Time. Same Hanks Channel.
Oh no. Yikes be careful out there
,..... hope everything is ok
Thank you for sharing your adventures into Alaska.
Safe travels to you 3 ALWAYS.

Enjoyed the video …. I hope your safe and everything is good.
Wowah, Woes and Sourtoes!! The Hanks are living it up in the Great North.
But seriously- y’all left us hanging, by our toes!!!😢😊
Carl - what’s the skinny? a hitchhiking squirrel needed a bath?
C’mon let us know
Hope all is okay
Cliffhanger?!?! I love your videos. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.
Welcome to the club. Loved Top of the World Highway.
You guys are such a hoot!! I’ve been watching you for quite a while and now I’ve got my husband watching!! We just wait for the next episode to see what the kids are up to. I sure hope you’re not stranded in the middle of nowhere!!❤

Another great video, love the content!!
You guy's are always entertaining.
the ferry ride
was very cool. Grandpa Jack,
Loving the Alaska/Canada videos. Love seeing it thru your eyes!!! Thanks
We took our class C with toad attached on the Essex Ferry across Lake Champlain two weeks ago. It was so cool!
Many thanks. You two add a little (lot) joy to our lives. Good to see the land too.
Thank you so much!
Mint chocolate chip ice cream !! My favorite ! Hope the issue at the end wasn't too bad but we will see ! Be safe !😎
Gear down instead of riding your brakes. That's why there are ten of them. Great adventure. You've convinced me to go in June.
Good video. Today is 26 October 2023.
Thanks for the info in the videos during this trip. You two did a great job. Be safe.
Top of the World highway and Dawson City are two of the greatest reasons for trip to Alaska. We returned on the TOW highway on Monday the 28th of August about 5 days ahead of you. We were headed back to Skagway for our final month of work.
Couldn’t agree more - we spent 5 days there exploring the history and could have spent a couple days more. And the ToW Hwy is incredible!
I am a fairly new subbie from Alberta 🇨🇦. Love your videos, you guys are gems! 😊
I'm from Eastern Canada, and you two are encouraging me to explore the western part of my own country. Welcome to Canada... again!
Oh you must! Im live in the wild west, lol , I’m gonna explore your end of the town next summer 🍻
I love watching your Alaska travels
One of your best yet. Love ferries (especially small River ones)
Thank you so much!
I love cricket noises! That was laugh out loud. Funny

Don’t think we are, but you never know!
WOW!! Talk about a cliff hanger!!!
What a fun video!!! Love the sour toe drink!!🤣… thanks for taking us along!
That’s a one I have not seen… ferry crossing! Awesome
So much fun!
Love you guys, you are so fun and informative.
What an awesome video. Loved the toe! Hope the rest of your travel is safe.
Thanks so much!
Howdy Hanks, it's great to see you today.
🤗
Great video and some beautiful scenery. I hope things aren't to bad for ya'll. Looking forward to next week's video
Thank you so much!

Your GMC should have one and with it you can go downhill without touching the brakes. Well, you actually have to tap the brakes to activate it.
I learned that the 7 way connector being plugged into the truck is not good early on…luckily had a passer by help out

Dawson is really cool town and diamond tooth girdy was fun
Love the harmonica music 😊
''There is no help for you'' Had me rolling!!

My kids took a ferry to school for a year.
They loved it.
You kids Gavin’ so much FUN! ( but towing so much water. . . I did it too)

I found some thing you might like Hank Fm a radio station in Mineral Wells, Tx.
I can't wait to join you guys on the open road.
Get out here!
Great channel I really enjoy it. I noticed something about your generator It needs a ground wire same for your battery inverter. I have a small ground rod for mine that I hammer into the ground and attach a wire to a terminal on the generator.

Good video 😊just saying there at least you tubers that are up in Alaska they have all been on ferry some short crossing other longer but now are coming back to lower 48 safe travels 🤔😀
That ferry ride turned Carl into a 7 year old 😂 He was more excited about that then the Denali flight.
Thanks for the video-
Hi Hanks. If you don't know already there is a conversion kit for the Honda generator.you can run propane through it.
Aaah 😱😱wth! ….😬 i’ll just nail bite till next week. 🍻

You guys should plan a Trip to the other side of Canada, Check out Newfoundland and get Screeched in.
Don't feel bad about the 7 pin draining the battery. Happened to me too. Learning curve.
It’s happened more than twice for us lol
Hope you did not have to foot a bill..??? LOVE YOU BOTH .. Dexter too!!
The ending though……………😮😳😳😳
Now I am ready to join the Elite Club!!!
Would love to see more drone video of the scenery.
NOOOOO!!! What happened??!! I can't wait till next Thursday to find out!! Hope everything is ok.
Yep never heard of The Toe. That’s a first. 😂😂❤❤
Right on the edge of my seat and then bam the videos over 😂

I am feeling your pain. I had the freshwater tank drop out of the bottom on my previous Airstream In TN. I only had 15 gallons in the tank.

the truck turns off the 7 way when the ignition is off. FYI
Nailed it
When going Down hill press on the brakes until u reach A safe speed then u-R engine brake will take care of the rest u just maintain your speed.
Woohoo representing South Dakota
