    I fell into this once and it shredded my body into ribbons and blood. It was a horrible death as I struggled to keep my arms and legs from the teeth. Than God I came out the other end in one piece.

    Wouldn't it be unfortunate if the crane's hand got stuck in the shredder and you would see the entire crane get pulled into the thing?

    People who drink alcohol and drive or take drugs and drive or use their mobile phones and drive should be made to watch their vehicles being destroyed by a machine like this. Then maybe they would think twice before putting peoples lives at risk. That is in addition to the punishment decided by the court.

  • @CryingPanSFX

    not necessarily. The principle behind the reason it needs to reverse is because of Wedging. The compacted car builds up layers which when angled properly, cause the two separate wheels to literally push on each other, using the car as a medium. Seeing as both wheels are designed for high-stress activities, neither would give. The whole operation comes to a standstill until the pressure is lifted and the Car is removed. The car has to be sufficiently ground down to avoid this event.

    • @mewantbrains
      @mewantbrains 10 років тому +2

      I drive EV's for the cheaper cost and as for where the energy comes from to charge the battery it comes from my off grid solar system I'm not connected to the national grid at all so what do you say to that douchebag

    • @mopardude6969
      @mopardude6969 10 років тому

      Do you also drive them for their hundreds of miles per charge and their many many numerous charging sytems in place. Yea im jealous NOT!!!!!!!!!!

    • @mewantbrains
      @mewantbrains 10 років тому

      I can get a range of 130KM per charge out of mine and I hardly ever get the battery below 30% in a day of driving and unlike your liquid fuelled vehicle every time I press the power on button I have a full battery whereas you have to go to the fuel station and pay for more fuel also when I use the breaks my battery gets some of the energy back you can't refill the fuel tank by using the breaks and in the unlikely event I do run out of power I have a spare charger in the boot and if I'm on the highway I have a small petrol generator for use in such emergencies that I can pull over fire up the generator wait 20-30 min and have enough power to get home or to an outlet or a charging station (I have only had to use it once) and EV charging stations are free to use try getting free liquid fuel without having the cops called on you
      YEAH THATS WHAT I THOUGHT

  • @mobiussquadron
    @mobiussquadron 11 років тому

    Ehh I get what you are saying, but he is right. If it did have substantially more power it wouldn't even slow down, but the jaws would need to be bigger, which would produce larger chunks. Then a secondary shredder would be needed. So reversing does wind up being somewhat more beneficial.

    And this is why trying to find parts for classic cars or just cars in general is so hard after a few year, because little shits crush everything, rather than strip the cars, sell the parts and help everyone, make more money and cause less pollution than having to melt down, sort and remould all the metal abroad! Cars should be broken for parts if they're unrepairable not shredded!

    • @HikikomoriDev
      @HikikomoriDev 10 років тому

      I saw some parts in there like head lights and tail lights that looked right in place. ...well one thing we know, if we need parts we can go to the 3D printers and make any part we wish of..

    • @Microang
      @Microang 10 років тому

      Classic cars don't use plastic parts and 3D printing cannot reproduce glass, electronics or metal at the moment. Not to mention you'd have to redesign the parts just to print them

    Dismantling cars is labor intensive process. In "rich" countries it is more cost effective to use a shredder and burn oil at 1,5€/L than hire group of people to do it manually. After you have those tiny bits of material you can use magnets (for iron/steel), Eddy current devices (other metals), blowers (foam, fabric), flotation tanks (plastic), oil seperators, etc. to do it automatically. It yields more residues than manual selection, but it's cheaper when work force is expensive.
