You're extremely brave to do all this when sometimes your head doesn't seem to want you to! I always enjoy your stuff. Every time I've seen you have a wobble on these films, you always win it over eventually. Keep going!
I grew up not far away so Ennerdale Water and we visited regularly. I spent countless nights at the Scout camp there, I started and finished my Chief Scout award walk there as a teenager. Even now at 38 I camped on Crag Fell above the water just 2 weeks ago. I love it so much there and I love how quiet it can be.
Another walk in a rugged landscape. Beautiful trees and wild water. It’s very calming and helps m anxiety moments. Thanks for sharing and being so honest with us.
Love this video. In August we did the C2C staying on the south side until we crossed at the same bridge you used. From there we hiked past Blacksail, up Loft Beck, past Honister Mine to Gillercombe B&B in Rothwaite. It really was thrilling to accompany you on this video and relive experience. Thank you.
Well done Abbie lovely walk.. Sometimes I drive 50 miles to do a walk and right at the last minute my head says 'NOPE' and its over.... wish I had an antidote :)
Another great video, thanks Abbie. Memories of childhood walks at Ennerdale with my parents many years ago! There used to be a trail called The Nine Becks trail that went about as far as your walk, a bit higher up in the dense coniferous forest before the recent rewilding began. We also did the path you pointed out up Red Pike from Ennerdale although it was a bit of a slog, well worth it up the top though.
thanks for getting me excited about nature and moving and my own "backyard" time and time again! I'm struggling with my mental health and sometimes get jealous of all the "big" adventures people go, but then I come back to your channel and you are reminding me, that the magic is right outside 😊there's beauty and wildness and peace at my fingertips and now I have motivation to go and find it again
Abbie love the videos, so inspirational. Can I say it would be really useful if at the end of each vid you said roughly how long each hike takes? Would help plan trips. Great work, well done!
Another lovely walk, thanks Abbie. Just love Spring with the clear vistas and fringes of emerging colour. It's good to see all the natural regeneration of plants and species - it looks like some good work has been done here. ♥ the ickl dam and the well spaced Conifers.
I started off walking at the age of 14 years in Ennerdale and fell in love with the outdoors. It became my regular haunt for years and was so untouched until a few years ago. Lovely video, thanks for sharing
Love Ennerdale, sort of have an emotional link also, started a new job years ago and mother passed away on the Saturday before I started on the Monday, was from Nottingham was on a job working away work in Cleator Moor nearby, I did not want to take time off at the start of a new job. It was February and bags of snow on the ground, after a few weeks the snow cleared and I took myself on almost the same walk as you, and from out of nowhere the grief came out, just the beauty of the place sort of made me open up and let it out, not what I expected, but by the end of the walk my mind and soul felt so much better, did not see another soul on the walk, just nature doing its thing and me reminiscing along the way. I have always wanted to return and savoir that place again, and you have reminded me that it is good to do so, and remind ourselves how far we come along the way. Thanks Abbie, wonderful upload as always and we all appreciate you sharing your journey with us, and reminding us subtly that we have a journey too. Many thanks, I will return to Ennerdale!
Hi Abbie... So sorry it,s been so long. Not being well and going in and out of hospital does not help... You have reminded me when i was there climbing Scarfel Pike. So much beauty there even on lower ground. Looking up and seeing the Red Kytes and other birds of prey. Even at night there is always something to see,,,,,, Regards Mick,,,,,,, Chef-on-the-wild-side,,,,, X
Another great video! You’re a real inspiration on so many levels ❤ The shot at 9:55 looks like a Rukiye Garip watercolour. Google her if you don’t know her. Outstanding artist!
Used to live nearby. Was a great half day walk. Once when we were up on Crag fell, two RAF Jaguars came down the lake below us. I think we even got a wave.
Totally agree with you about the alpine feel to the valley, I'll always remember the first time in Ennerdale on day two of the Coast to Coast walk in 2007,been back a few times since its possibly my favourite valley ❤, great video by the way❤
Wow. One of two lakes I still haven't been to. It looks incredible! 👌 well shot. I particularly the shots when you use the full frame camera for the detail shots being a photographer myself.
Did you walk clockwise? Near Crag Fell part looks a bit easier than anti clockwise 😅, I did it last week. The Robin-hood part was easy to climb up but difficult to come down, my legs were trembling .😂
Thanks Abbie. That looks an ace walk, one that Louise would love. You didn’t go all the way up to Black Sail YH on this one did you? I was thinking of cutting it a bit shorter than 11 1/2 miles, but I wouldn’t want to miss those waterfall pools 🤔
@AbbieBarnesWILD I loved it - it made me giggle. 🥰 I had to rewind it because I was eating something crunchy and thought I misheard, but when I watched it back I was ROFL. I thought it was kind of like one of those things people do just to see if you're paying attention. 😉🤪 Awesomeness. Your videos are the best, Abbie! Love them all! ❤
Bill Clinton proposed to his future wife in 1937? I think you tripped up there. He was only born in 1946. 😂 They met in 1971 and married in 1975. Perhaps he proposed in ‘73?

Lovely walk, very peaceful 😊 Thanks Abbie for taking us along with you 😁

Loved this walk - the remoteness, the river and isolation. We enjoy your videos, Abbie. Kathleen & Rodney Aotearoa- NZ

Opps!! 😂😂😂
@@AbbieBarnesWILD easily done - you do a great presentation, Abbie.
Amazing walks. However the paths barely even look like paths lol
Woop!
I heard that Bill Clinton regularly met Monica Lewinsky in Cockermouth.
Would you rather walk on your own or with a group 🤔 😊
On my own for filming and most of the time but I love the walks I lead :)
Please do some more mindfulness and mental health videos.
Getting high is always the best option
5.50 Bill Clinton wasn't born in 1937 , so i checked, it was 1973, you read the numbers in the wrong order😊
That's my dyslexia 😅
Have you ever had to sleep in your car while out 😊
Nope, but I do sleep in my van :)
