Manns Creek 2.0, Building the dump trestle, Part 1

I worked four 12 hour days installing the version 2 of the Manns Creek Railways dump trestle in Sewell WV. This is the final step in a 17 year project. In this first video I race to install a partially completed trestle model in the layout and connect it so I can get coal dumping in just a few days.

Wow, that is an incredible amount of work for a "long" weekend. I know you said 48 hours, but sometimes some jobs need that sort of dedication.
I hope you can look back and think, that was time well spent.

I'm building an "era 2" model coal rail and have not been able to positively identify what kinds of coal carts they used on these trains. Your gondola's seem right are they modeled from that period?

I am not sure what "era 2" is. The Manns Creek used these hoppers from about the 1930s-1956

Are you going to make any coke ovens?

unfortunately on this layout I do not have the space to model them, they will only be suggested.
