    I love this technique but was wondering if microphone is not near you as I have speakers turned up and still straining to hear you on a few of your videos. Thanks for sharing your glazing.

      C-1 Obsidian base coat, PC-57 Smokey Merlot, and PC-42 Seaweed. Stars are dots of white underglaze and sparkle can be added with PC-63 Cosmic Tea Dust. ~Cara

    I realize that your video was made a year and a half ago, but I just saw it for the first time and had a question. I hope that you still see the comments and respond to them. I have a textured vase that I would like to use the galaxy combination on. Unfortunately, Obsidian base will cover the texture. What other base would you recommend that will not obscure the texture. I enjoy your video and would like notifications of any new ones.

      A dark Celadon, like C-5 Charcoal, can be used as a base for Galaxy Glazing while still allowing the texture to show through.

      @@AMACOBrent Thank you I will try Charcoal as a base.

    Really enjoy your educational videos. When using a Cone 6 glaze, is it possible to go up to Cone 10 and still have good effects? or does the glaze just "melt"? thanks for thoughts. I have a gas reduction kiln.

      Some of our glazes can go up to cone 10 and not melt off of a piece; however, we do not have any official documentation of these glazes so we recommend testing the glazes you want to fire to cone 10 first.
      When we fire any new glaze, we always put soft bricks under our test tiles to keep our kiln shelves clean (and from having to rewash them constantly). If a glaze does melt off a tile then it just goes onto the brick rather than the shelve.

    I am in a ceramic class that only does low fire but I am searching for beautiful glaze combinations. Can you post something like that also?

      Hi there, we can share that with our livestream content creator. To find lowfire layering combinations with AMACO glazes you can pick and choose your top and bottom glazes on our layering page here: www.amaco.com/glazes-and-underglazes/layering
      We hope this helps! Thanks for your feedback!

      @@AMACOBrent I thought Low Fire meant firing at 06 or 05... That chart you sent me has great samples of combinations of glazes but when I started looking them up, the description said they fire at 5 and 6. Isn’t that considered “high fire?”

    • @AMACOBrent
      @AMACOBrent  3 роки тому

      @@CeeJayKay Lowfire does mean 05/06. On that page we have a handful of our lowfire glazes on there that you can choose for layering combos such as Opalscents, Artist's Choice, CTL's, and the F-series.

    Do you add CTD after 2 layers C-1?
