Wood recommend the use of a mitre gauge or crosscut sled for cutting the panel to its finished length. Cross cutting against the fence is an invitation to a dangerous kickback when it binds up. Nice job on the project!

For all of you who know how much a custom fly making station cost this is a perfect example of one person’s idea and turning into a real thing. I love it and this could potentially be a good business venture for the avid fly fisherman great job fellas

Yep. Most folks could make something like this with basic tools. Riley asked me to help out with the project, and it was a win win! I got a video, and he got a project :)

Wesley! I have 0% interest in fly fishing, but still a super awesome video. I think you stumbled on an awesome concept of filming bringing someone in that hasn't done woodworking and building project with them. Cool stuff as always!

I love the concept too! It’s a cool way to expose people to woodworking who have never done it before

Is this your shop or a powermatic factory tour?
Dewalt and bostitch tools as well.
Did your wife force you to pick a color theme?
I’m not talking trash I’m jealous. In fact, I’m sick with jealousy.😅

December 4, 2022 ....today. I just finished making a practice fly making device for fly fishing, but I learned, my flys can be used for any fishing you choose, like lake and streams. I basically wanted this strictly to train for accuracy first. The distance will come with time and practice. I start with five grains and make the heavier. I weigh each one individually on a digital scale that is accurate to one carat. If you can see it,, it weighs something. Maybe a tiny bit, but it still weighs something. It’s just like the tax man, if he can see it, he can tax it. So now it’s time to work with it and find any shortcomings or improvements it may need, before I begin a limited production as I test the market.

Nice. I'm copying yours 😂 got my wood clamped together now for the base. Probably won't be as nice but should function the same! 😂 I'm curious the size of yours. I'm doing 24"x16"
