- The Spiral Abyss has long been our greatest challenge on this Swords Only account in Genshin Impact. 33 stars was our record, and in this video I just thought I'd quickly take on the challenge once again to check our progress. However, we started getting further than ever before... and then it happened.
Swords Only in Genshin Impact can be quite challenging at times. However, as the self-proclaimed master of "Weapon" Only challenges in this game, I am able to best any obstacle (probably).
HoYoVerse put out a tweet saying "Polearm Impact"... So I decided to take it upon myself to make a new account, but only use characters who wield a sword because absolutely nobody asked me to.

the fact that java didnt even check the adventurer's handbook to see if he had the scara fight unlocked is frightening...
Also frightening is that he thought it unlocked after beating both of Nahida's story quests...despite her second story quest unlocking Apep who came out a few updates after God Scaramouche and by extension Wanderer.

What threw me off was that if you were on the character talent screen and clicked on the material he dropped, it would show the little clickable domain thing that normally then brings you to the map where you can get the drop. With that drop though, it wouldn't link me to the map, which is also what it does if you don't have the domain unlocked yet. Plus I was under the assumption that the Scara fight domain would be up where you first fought him in the archon quest. Didn't realize it was just kinda in the middle of nowhere lol

@@JavaTheCup It's kind of confusing, but that is the same place as the Quest, you can see this entrance during a cutscene in the fight.

Soluna been 36-starring with polearms only for awhile, TarZ got 36* on his catalysts only account 9 month ago.
Java is still fun and entertaining and I geniunely love his playthroughs, but when it comes to meta-related stuff he’s not that great.
Running Nilou's team without healer... sometimes I really believe you just like to suffer. I also liked the moment when Java found out hyperbloom is cracked
When I saw no healer/shielder, I knew why it took 2hrs for the first floor XD

@@luhaguilar Ikr - Alhaitham in a Nilou team seams so wasteful. Can put Layla in instead of dendro MC too and make a hyperfridge and help shield from the cryo attacks

When the music started & all those clips in the background started showing up, I literally thought "well this is the end folks, there's never gonna be swordsonly again". I went through all 5 stages of emotions man but at the end when Java said this is not the end for swordsonly I just jumped up, ran out of the house & shouted " thank the heaven's" man seriously I can't witness the end of this account

On 4.2 there's furina for swords only aswell as baizhu and Charlotte for catalysts only, it's gonna be tough

I am genuinely confused why Java didnt just use Alhaitam for floor 12-2 and 12-3. Doesnt he have more dendro application than lumine when he wants more survivability with kiara?
I was internaly screaming that he would have cleared already if he used al haitam instead of Dtraveler🫠
Exactly I was so confused!! Why even try that keqing team that was literally made to fail?? Wasn't the original hyperbloom team strong enough? Doesn't kirara and kuki provide enough survivability? What does dmc have over alhaitham in terms of survivability?
He could literally do hyperbloom with: kuki, alhacen, xinchiu and kirara.

Btw, if you want to group the abyss mages, you have to look at the wall because abyss mages teleport to where you are looking and because there really isn't that much space when you are looking at the wall, they teleport on top of each other and group perfectly

Looking at the wall doesn’t work in this abyss rotation because for you to be far enough away from them you need to hug the wall already - there is no place for them to teleport.
The best strategy I’ve found is looking a bit sideways, with wall blocking half of your view and therefore half of the area mages can tp to

It doesn't work if you stand too close to the wall facing it, because they have no where to teleport to
So either, face the wall, but leave some space, or facing away from the wall
And don't move around like he did in the video lol
For this specific occasion, there's also a third way of doing it - by sticking to the wall, and then watching for when the furthest 2 mages "poof" to teleport, then run forward to the mage that isn't teleporting. The 2 mages that teleported will then appear next to the third mage - and ta daa, you have them grouped :D
Even though you were the original creator for this concept yet somehow the slowest to clear abyss can slide since you grind like 5 accounts😭
And he doesn't spend much,i know Deelo did clear the Abyss with 36* but that guy spent tons of money on the accounts which genuinely made the series crap imo.

not to trash the other creators but he's also more relatable and entertaining in a way, maybe that's just me. seeing people so focused on 36* and tons of progress made in-bwteeen videos just ruins it imo
@No-zu4ds I believe deelo was gifted crystals a lot during streams and he let the community decide if he could use them or not. People just like pitting content creators against each other

if you are too close to the edge abyss mages won't teleport to you
Specifically, you need space in front of your character (not your camera)

The feeling of clearing the spiral abyss for the first time was definitely different.
Now it's a chore just like dailys, abyss reset, go in 36 star, take the 600 promos and get the f out.
I have NEVER commented before 'couse English is my second language and I'm scared to make a grammatical mistake BUT! I just can't help but tell you how HAPPY i'm for you even if it means that I have to go out of my comfort zone and leave a comment. I actually cried a little on the last seconds of your successful run because of those moments you put on the background and I thought that this might be the last video of SwordsOnly. I agree, made me emotional and I gotten insanely mad at myself for tearing up. It may be a funny little series but seriously it inspired me to keep up with my own accounts and in general inspired me.

A small tip for the next abyss that you want to 36 stars, try to 3 stars 12-3, then 12-2 and finish with 12-1. This way you don't have to go through the entire floor every time !

nah, the Nilou Bloom team has better hydro app and better AoE damage, so it's better than the 4 stars team only in Chamber 1

Beacouse sword character are op? To be honest swords only in terms of clearing the content as a F2P is the best, you have some team that you can use with really good characters like kazuha, You can do hyperbloom with alhaitham, xq and kuki or you can run bloom, you have so many options that makes it really easy if you build your team properly.
You were complaining about not having a good single damage team... And that's literally hyperbloom. Alhaitham, Traveler, Xingchui and Kuki.

In your non-freeze Ayaka team, you might wanna replace Kazuha with Lynette since it's much easier to swirl cryo with Lynette, and you can use Kazuha on a different team
But it's a damage loss plus you can't groupe ennemie as well and the other would just be stronger as hyperbloom

I honestly almost forgot how many epic moments this series had, and how the account has come. The short memories during the abyss fight has brought back so many feelings. This is genuinly one of the UA-cam series of Genshin, and it deserves all the love it is getting as well as so much more.

Wish I could have watched sooner but memory and school hittin me like a truck, almost made me cry at the end with the montage. I hope to see more Albedo action because he WAS the first 5* sword character on the account, kinda is difficult to include him though so I understand why. Feels odd knowing that the goal for Swords Only is already complete, thought it would be until next year or something.

Congratulations! What a long and wild ride this has been! I swear I've been struggling to switch characters all patch long, so I feel your pain there. I really liked the editing of highlights of the account and pulling the teams during the final chamber. Enjoyed the music choice as well.
I'd probably enjoy seeing you check back in on this account sometime, but if you choose to move on to new things, or old things such as one of the other challenge series that dropped off, I'm sure I'll enjoy that just as much.
A best of video would be a nice capstone for this project if you do feel up to it.

also it’s weird you didn’t get anything for that because i don’t remember if you’ve cleared floor 12 before but you get the achievement for clearing floor 12 and the name card for getting all the like 5 or so achievements in the abyss achievements
