ABOUT ME
I am 25 years old. I was born in Poland and grew up in the UK. I am married to a wonderful man called Maciej with whom I vlog on a seperate channel (everdaters). I also lived in places such as Paris and Alesund in Norway throughout my life.
Why fragrances? I have always been very sensitive to smells. For example I remember being 6 years old and going on a fishing trip with my family. After catching fish I could smell fish oil on my hands for days but no one believed me. Wherever I lived I always spent hours in my local fragrance shop and get to know many amazing fragrances. Now I am sharing my passion for fragrances on UA-cam. I hope I can bring you value by introducing you to new fragrances and hopefully someday interviewing perfumers and giving you an insight into the perfume industry. My dream perfumer to interview is Frederic Malle, just saying :)

So glad you asked me to be a part of this Monika, enjoyed the conversation!
Glad I could have you on the channel!
Chris you're so hot. coming from a hetero
@@MusicIsOurSavior 🔥
@@MusicIsOurSavior Lol some hetero. There was a beautiful lady in this collab, but yet you chose to compliment the male..🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
@@apolloton1 please don't kill me for this stupid decision. I am too young to die.
I disagree with the age thing. What a man wears at any given age depends on the man.
My wife loves LeMale. I still get compliments when I wear it.from lots of folks and I’m 70
Thank you.
70
Ha ha glad you said that I am 56 and me and my wife love this fragrance very much. Also ultra male and the new parfum are great.
@@MrMalambingyes! The older you get the less you care. Saying a fragrance is for a “younger crowd” is a form of discrimination.
Back in the late 90s my cousin passed away, my uncle gave me some clothes and cologne. That was my introduction to le male. I was in my teens, I saw the bottle and remember thinking what the heck is this? I sprayed it and didn't like it too much. Years later sadly after losing the bottle I was in a local store and saw it on a counter in a store named boscovs. I thought to myself, I remember that. I was in my early 20s at this point. I went up to spray it just to see if I still disliked it and I didn't. I got a bottle and remember spraying it in the air to smell it and thought of the good memories with my cousin. JPG is one of my favorites, not because the smell exactly but because the memories. It does smell good though. Today I still wear it at 36 and remember my cousin. He was a good hearted man with many friends. A 6 foot 7 teddy bear.
RIP 🙏
Well you’ll remember your cousin forever by virtue of this fragrance. May he rest well in peace
Great words 🙏🏽
I enjoyed reading your story.
Great memories
I'm extremely impress on how cinematic this scene looks. Feels like I'm at the movie theater watching this. Wow lol.
Haha, thanks a lot! 🙏😊

I’m in my 50’s & Le Male always garners me very positive comments. I didn’t start wearing Le Male till I was in my mid 40’s. I really didn’t get the hype prior. As my nose became seasoned I fell in love with the fragrance. (It doesn’t hurt that the Mrs loves it as well) Le Male is not only a classic, but also a work of art!
I think it’s the individual that makes it juvenile or mature & sexy. The teens & twenties tend to over spray, looking for attention. A mature, successful man, less is more & he isn’t looking for the same sort of attention. He’s confident within himself & I think those who are drawn in will Interpret the fragrance differently.
Anyway, that’s been my personal experience. Great review 👍🏾👍🏾 🇦🇺
Well said 👏👏
I agree except for the part that teens overspray. I am 39 and just began overspreading. Life’s to short to wear 2-3 sprays only. I figured, if I’ve spent all this much money in this game I might as well make it work. Underspraying serves no purpose whatsoever.
I use Le Male since middle school, and I'm in university and I still wearing Le Male today. Le Male is a very neutral and unique smell that girls love, and makes me fill confident wearing it
I’m 22 and just really started my fragrance collection. La Male is definitely my favorite out of the 6 that I have. It’s 100% magnetic in a social scene.
Just curiosity, what are the other five?
@@tiagorods. “Le male le parfum” “Ultra Mâle” “Le male terrible” “Le male On board” “Le beau” I think
Great video! I live in Canada, a girlfriend I was dating in 1995 was a pilot and she went on a trip to London. Le Male hadn't been released in Canada yet and she brought me back a bottle...WOW! I was blown away, it was like nothing I ever smelled (except for maybe Fahrenheit) that had such an effect on me. Wore the both of them for years after that. A classic, still relevant today!
Still one of the best fragrance in the world.
I just bought it again. 25 years after i first had it. Great memories. Still love the smell. Masterpiece.
I wearing Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male in 1999 and I still wearing it in 2020. One of the best imo. Greetings from Holland
Greetings fellow Nederlander
@@romarioseaton168 hehe we meet again😂
I own LeMale and here in Costa Rica it's not a common fragrance so for most people it's unique and ladies love it. Received compliments wearing this fragrance. It's a timeless fragrance IMHO.
Great review guys! Keep it up! Greetings from Costa Rica 👌🏽
That’s interesting that the trend didn’t spread that far
@@MonikaColognes I've smelled it on other people here in Costa Rica don't get me wrong but it's not a very common fragrance like it is in the US or other countries. The only people who would be familiar with it are people that work at a fragrance store or a fragrance collector (which you won't find many).
Many good memories during the 90s with this. There used to be nights where this was the only thing you could smell in clubs. I think that people that used to wear it back then have outgrown it and may also have negative associations with this being ridiculously popular. The current formulation is also subpar to what this used to be but objectively the DNA has stood the test of time and it’s great to see that this is still being discussed and included in many lists.
Reminds me of my clubbing days in NYC. Most who have worn it instantly recognize it and IMO it's smell immediately transports me back to getting into trouble ( in a good way ) and not having a care in the world.
I started wearing it when I discovered it in France in 1998… I still wear it today as it’s the only one that suits me and works well on my skin and I still receive compliments 😊
This fragrance is very thought provoking. My older sister would always wear it when she went clubbing. I can still remember the entire house smelling of it. I agree it’s very sweet and ideally suited for younger people, but it’s a classic and at that time it was very unique. This has become more then just another fragrance for people. It’s amazing how powerful this fragrance can bring back so many vivid memories of their past. That’s what makes it a very special fragrance for many out there.
I grew up in the eighties…it was such an unusual period when it comes to fragrance. I owned twentyish fragrances as many of my friends did. We were constantly searching for the “one” that would define us. It was a time when so many extremely high quality fougeres were on the market and at the same time the sweeter scents were beginning to make headway. It was also a time when designer brands would take huge creative swings to establish themselves. My “smell” ended up being kouros….much to my old girlfriends dismay!
Thank you for reviewing this. I don't even own it yet, I tested a sample of it in Boots and a bit of it went on my fingers, and as I walked home I could smell it on me. A strong fragrance.
Yes it is!
Noticing a trend in masterpiece fragrances. Cumin and lavender. Ie: Andy Tauer "LDDM", YSL "La Nuit de l'homme", JPG "Le Male
Lavender baby yummy goodness in sooo many colognes. Oakmoss is fav of mine as well
I love, love this fragrance. I am 42 and I believe I've worn this fragrance since my 30's. This is for sure my signature fragrance. Thanks for the review.
Even in the heat of summer? Isn't it too sweet or cloying? I never felt this fragrance, btw.
this is great for fall/winter days, signature scent worthy, and if you grab your hands on a BPI stuff, it still has a great performance, 12 hours of this great masterpiece!
A masterpiece that still stands the test of time, just got another bottle, and a bottle of jpg eau fraiche ready for the summer also a great scent. I’m 42 and totally agree with Chris probably get another year or two with this and will have to leave it for the younger generation, will certainly miss it when I’ll do though
After 10 years i bout it again and fell in love again, its just amazing
Nice video discussing fragance history and real world experiences, should do more of this. Would like to see a playlist of popular fragances in the past and their journey
I've never worn this but have heard many different takes on it. Based on this collaboration, I may need to seek out a sample.
Excellent work you two. Quite the dynamic duo!
I think that Le Male is a smashing good fragrance, and here's what I love about it - It's now almost 30 years old, and I think it has, in many ways, become forgotten or shunned because people think it's "old". Now that no one's really wearing it anymore, I LOVE to wear this stuff, because like you two have said, it still smells SO GOOD! I love wearing this stuff to work, because it smells so fresh and sweetly clean thanks to the lavender and mint. I almost feel like this is a secret little hidden gem (which I recognize is ridiculous) that I get to enjoy.
I'm 39 I love it n will love it as long as I'm alive ... This scent is a time machine...
I'm 31 and have never wore le male. I've been into cologne since I was 13 but have only bought a few bottles in my life. I decided to get back into scents at full force and have collected 125 bottles in 9 months and im definitely goin got pick this bottle up for my collection. It's its iconic sho why not don't care about reformulations
👍
I wear it today. Great scent. I was a Dior Fahrenheit, Issey Miyake guy in the late 90’s.
What's your take on farenheit? Im interested in it, seen a lot of good reviews.
Dad McGeeSmithjonmarkisonthethirdor4th? It’s a. Great classic unique scent. Haven’t had the original for years but I own Aqua Fahrenheit and Fahrenheit Cologne today. Both r great. Lighter versions and maybe a little more modern. But the original is still a great one today imo.
@@jt5522 thank you for sharing! Ill have to see if I can find some with test strips in a store.
Issey miyake was my scent in the 90's an my first ever aftershave.. still have a bottle in my collection today . Brings bck so many memories. Spesh clubbing days 🥳🤯👌😆
Danny Byrne Yes. I still have a bottle too lol.
Simply a legend and will still be around in another 20 years I’m sure , simply to much of a pleaser for it to disappear 👌
I was rolling my eyes before watching this video when I saw it was 12 minutes. but I thoroughly enjoyed this. thanks for delving me in the fragrance world.
I bought LE MALE LE PARFUM and truly it is addictive .Smells great, fantastic. Thanks Ms. Monika for your truthfulness.
There's definitely a very good reason this is referred to as the "Ex-boyfriend fragrance" here in the states. Love this juice. Majority of my good memories from youth are tied to this masterpiece
Always in my rotation since it was first released. I don't agree with the age comment. The Fougere aspect of it makes it suitable for all ages in my opinion. I recently gave a bottle to my father, he is 75 and apart from the fact that he loved it, it smells really great on him. It stands out from the rest of the designer fragrances which nowadays most of them smell alike, full of ambroxin and ozonic generic notes. Also this and Oud Wood by T. Ford are my most complimented fragrances. Nice video.!
Every fragrance is as relevant as people want it to be. We all have different taste and one thing is for sure Le male is still very unique and full of personality in 2020.
For those of us that were quite young during the Le Male hay day it’s not as recognizable. I wore it in high school but none of the other kids were. Obviously in the crowd that 10 or so years older than me it was extremely popular and common. Currently where I live women 35 and under weren’t over exposed to this fragrance years ago.
I used Le Male when it was first released , the last years I was more into Niche Parfums, but today I did buy Le Male Parfum
Much like Chris, Le Male is probably my most worn fragrance from back in the day. I've got the Eau Fraiche flanker in the mail right now!
Just been back wearing this fabulous fragrance for the past 4years, So versatile can't get enough of this fragrance, Le Male perfection 👌🏻
I still wear this from time to time I'm 27 so it was out long time before I got my nose on it I had it for about 11 years now and still love it
So cool, this is my feature for tomorrow! Great timing! Awesome video!
Bought a gift set of fragrance + shower gel
.
Before speaking anything else,
It’s been two days and I’ve showered twice-and yet it still lingers on my skin.
The vanilla note is gone and all that left is something fougere resembling shower gel+shaving cream sweetness
I did not find it appeasing at the first spray but now after two days,
that faint linger on skin-I’m starting to love it more and more
I like fougere because I prefer gentlemen fragrances on contrary to bubbly fragrances such as Paco Rabanne (not saying they are bad but you get it)
You can feel the juvenile tone in this from the first note as it has lots of vanilla and sweetness can be a deterrent to your mature masculinity you wanna project
I’m not saying I would make this my go-to scent but yes I’m proud to have this in my collection as a legacy piece like owning a director’s cut of Event Horizon or 2001 space Odessy (if the former is too harsh for you to gulp)
This is a great scent.
You should own it.
Even if you are not gonna wear it,
Still you should own it
(don’t question the logic in that)
p.s.
I bought this gift set for a friend’s wedding but now I’ve tested it.
I ain’t giving it to him.
I bought a fancy coffee maker instead now to gift because I want to keep this to myself.
No,
I ain’t gonna give him another one either by keeping this to me because this fragrance is a gem and I don’t want anyone else in my circle to own it other than me
Definitely still relevant and a banger of a scent!!
Another great content Monika and great collaboration with Chris, I was late in the game but I attained Le Male close to 2 years ago and ending up giving it away and bought Ultra Male instead to replace it, so that's all continue on making great content and have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe weekend
Thank you! Have a lovely weekend too 😊
This video gives me an appreciation for it. My wife loves it and I was not feeling it at first. But it is a great scent and looking for more in the jpg fam
Terrific seeing you guys together.. really nice video
I'm actually buying a bottle tonight. It's a love for me. JPG Le'Male EDT and Issey Miyake Leau D'issey Pour Homme EDT are my favorite fragrances among a few others
Le male is a classy scent, last long (yes even the current stuff). It is well blended and has class. as long as it's not over sprayed it's a great scent. opening barbershop fresh notes are very nice. the the dry down is creamy/powdery with a slight clean sweaty note but not stinky. a very nice scent. I find the opening more barbershop notes keep it from being a teenager scent. this can be enjoyed by anyone from 20-80 years old or as long as a person is alive.
Hi Monika! Interestingly, Chris's perfumer friend, Aaron, is a big fan of Le Male. Other UA-camr's prefer Ultra Male to Le Male. Like Chris, in my younger years, I wore Le Male a ton. Nowadays, I find it a bit too synthetic smelling (or perhaps my bottle is just rather old).
Btw, for a future video, I'd love to see your take on the entire Dior Homme line, if you prefer the new version of Homme to the old version, and Homme Intense versus Parfum (I know you love the Parfum :). Cheers!
I've tried this and some other "same in class" fragrances a few days ago. All the other ones were boringly and strongly sweet (including le male ultra), this one was more interesting smelling, not just all sweet. That was my first impression and why I liked it best.
Absolutely love original LeMale. I've talked about it so much on my channel. It's very relevant today. Sweet fragrances have been very much in style.
Great subject! I love le male! But recently been wearing pdm darley! Simler feel to le male but a bit more refined imo! Have you tried pdm darley? Enjoying your channel from Australia
Never really understood the hype of le male. I prefer ultra male more. I do think le male is a decent fragrance, just not all that. I am excited for le male le parfum though! Can't wait for it to come out in the States.
I feel like I have been under a rock all these years not trying this. Very intrigued by your descriptions. 🤔 Fun conversational style video with great backstories! 😁 Love your collabs! 👍💕🙌
Thank you! You should definitely try it 😊
Definitely a game changer for the industry. Was for me too. Although these days, I almost feel like the drydown of Versace's Dreamer is the better choice for the more mature gentleman.
It's an amazing scent while it's raining outside as well.
Great clip with Chris. I enjoyed both of your points of view on this fragrance. I have it but it is generally away at the back of the collection and hardly gets any wearing time. On the very odd occasion it might come out during a weekend daytime for me. It is rare though! Thanks Monika! Great work. :0) x
Even though I hear this from every reviewer, that Le Male is a “newbie” scent and has a slightly juvenile and dated profile…I find it hard to recall a scent I prefer more.
Way more wearable imo than Le Parfume, which I found overwhelming almost to the point of making me feel sick. Think it was the heavy cardamom.
Have had huge compliments from Le Male and don’t see it as a younger wearer necessarily, just a beautiful, non threatening scent.
Le male still feels fresh and special after all these years no matter how hyped it is at times the hype didnt ruin it
like for example 1million man i loved it when it came out but they rode the hype to death every second guy in the club was drenched in it 😅
And now i would rather not wear perfume at all then 1million 🤷🏻♂️
I’m 49. Still where it. Still love it.
Love the smell. My 1st popular perfume . Sticks on my skin forever. I will buy this particular one some more .
I have le male but I’m a teen is that okay ahahaha, I think it smells good
Chris is such a gentleman
Why thank you Guy's! Much appreciated & very informative. Love the "Past & present" Input. 🎉❤🤣 Im 66 Years old & i rock this magnificent kit good style. I also rock Etat-Libre-Orange Intence-Insense (Rocket-Fuel) Made in middle Earth by Possessed Hobbits, Amouage Lyric Man & Creed Aventus! I personally love this kit. I get a good 5 Hours plus minimum. If i see it on fleabay? I snatch it quickly. But only the bargains. I got 125 ml earlier still sealed for £35..... It'd be rude not to. Im rather fond of Jean Paul Gualtier Le Lad Le Parfum to. Thats absolutely bangin. & Finally thank you kindly for knocking this video together. Its mint & its excellent. Stay safe you absolute Legends ❤💪🤗x
Do you guys think that it’s suitable for wearing in school?
I've had le male for a few year and I still struggle to find the best weather for it. 😭 But I absolutely love it.
Le Male can be worn everytime at every weather at every occassion.
My first scent, it got me into fragrances 👍
and after many Ultramale bottles, I ordered yesterday Le Male, the original again...our od my 350 bottles collection, I always come back tot JPG fragrances.. My Bal d"Afrique is empty, and that is the greatest complimentgetter for me, but for 100 ml, it"s 255 euro....Still struggling to buy it....nice presentation, thank you both...Regard
Monika, I have recently discovered a bottle of "Guess Man" By Guess, Eau De Toilette Spray that my son had before he was tragically taken from us. It really reminds me of him so I can't bring myself to part with it. I was wondering if you have ever tested it and if so what you thought of it? As always, keep up your great work! 💖
It will always be one of my favorites scents. I only wish I could’ve had it and it’s original formulation
Not sure about the new formulation. Is it still worth buying? Or should I go with Versace Eros?
I ordered this today. can't wait to try it
Powdery, fruity, musky, light and airy especially in tropical reagons, but only in the spring and summer
Purchase amourage reflection man. Smelled like LeMale. Returned it and just got LeMale.
Good decision. U also saved back a lot of money
Romario Seaton just used that money to buy other frags.
I am 28 years old and i love le małe i had IT first when i was around 20 21 and i still love it.
First comment! I tried Le Male yesterday, preferred the flanker, Ultra Male. Nice collab btw
Thank you! 😊
I'm going to buy this one tommorow, been pondering wether or not I should get it, so thanks for the push.
Was it a good buy then
This are the most amazing fragrance I've ever sniffed even compare with ultramale,it still le male smells awesome, and even with dior/armani
Not once was the issue of reformulation discussed even though this is one of the core elements for this type of format. Not trying to be mean just stating what is missing. I do agree however that it’s still relevant (although heavily reduced in density and performance) and have enjoyed you guys reviewing together. Have a great week-end 😉👍🏻👍🏻
You too! 😊 Although refolmulated it is the version we can readily get now so I just wanted to discuss the recent version
M2 Chris, from 17 - 30! Love le Male
I tried this a month ago its not the same for me, unfortunately much weaker and synthetic to my nose... when it first came out i used two bottles of this in my university years, also the scent ive worn longest, i never get two bottles of any fragrance, unfortunately its not the same as is used to be.
Still got some of the original left of this bought in late 90’s....but l have to decant it to another bottle as the original the spray stop working.
I remember it to be strong smell (excuse my term) but I n a good way with lots of compliment from it even do l think at the time it’s not really an everyday scent...so tend to use it only on special occasions hence why lved got some left.....to be honest the smell l think still the same as l first got it never changed for that time...did try this new one in the shop and yes they do feel a little bit sweeter smell now than the original.
Summer or winter fragrance in ur opinion?
Comparison between Le Male and Ultra Male?
La male is a fougere that now smells like baby powder dryer sheets, and ultra male is extremely sweet ultra sugary bubble gum scent.
There is something in the base blend of this that PDM's Layton shares but in a weird way: when I wash my skin off of Le Male or Layton, they leave behind the exact same scent to my nose. I like this scent, but I guess I'm at an older age that might not fit well with it. 😔 Here's hoping I never hear that Layton is meant for a younger crowd. 😅
Winner of the Le male series..“Le Parfüm” 🔥🥇🏆🏴☠️👑
The music/le male intro is superb!
Gonna try this one. I have ultra male and i also love it 🙂
Could you tell which you prefer, Le Male vs Ultra Male?
Do you prefer this one over L’ Essence ?
What's better Le Male or Ultra Male?
The reformulation killed it for me, the last great formulation was around 2012/13
Yes is perfect balance between sweet and fresh
Wow great collab guys! good job and I am intrigue with this scent thinking of getting one online because of you guys. Would you say this one is safe to blind buy?
I think so 😊 it’s a classic
Thanks! ill check that out and hopefully available locally here in Philippines 🇵🇭 😘
One of my first fragrances and I still love it when I smell it, now and then i wear it but there are fantastic Le Male flankers that I wear more often now like in the Navy and Ultra Male.
I wore this perfume the club, oh boy! I will never forget that stripper compliment while performing a lap dance on top of me. I don’t care if they said this perfume smells outdated I will still wear it as of today and only 31 year old.
Le Male & L'Eau d'Issey is the king of 90's!
I don't know if you are getting different bottles elsewhere in the world, 7 hours on your skin? I get barely 2 hours on the paper strip. On my skin it's barely 1 hour, on cloth a bit longer. I don't understand. When you say 7 hours, around the 5 hours mark, what are you smelling, it is still sweet or just a bit of wood? Can you compare the longevity with the different version of Le male?
I smelled so many fragrances, still havn't found a better one than Le male.
7force yes indeed! However for me Creed aventus comes very close
Todd m hey Todd yeah I have Oud Wood and I like it! Aventus cologne I have yet to try. Thank you!
Monika ciao. You like Le male vs Terre hermes ?
