Junk? Please. They are without doubt STILL the best diesel trains on british rail, power operated doors are not necessary. With the MTUs the lovely noise of the napier turbo has gone, but it has bought these trains another 10 years. That alone is worth the sacrifice.
You may be right in what you say but, I'm sick of being told by the driver of the Voyager in platform 2 or 3 that he can't leave because it's waiting for passengers to GET OFF BECAUSE IT'S OVERLOADED and the brakes won't release!!! real trains on services that need real trains!
