One thing about the modern ubiquity of race chat is it's SOOO US-centric. When you wanna talk about injustice, oppression, discrimination, that's a huge topic that involves so many different groups, yet USians view it as black and white, literally, black vs white racial dynamics that have little relevence outside the US dominate the discussion to a ridiculous degree. Recently woke Americans harrassed a white wheelchair bound Australian who had someone yell "cripple" at them and joked "I've just been hatecrimed" cause woke yanks got butthurt by "hate crime", a white trans teen was murdered in the UK, and when people said "#sayhername" about her murder, wokescold black yanks and their white yank accomplices hijacked the whole conversation cause they think the hashtag belongs to black people and called everyone racist, I saw a discussion about young men who are neurodivergent, poor and single parent raised and depressed having trouble picking up women and a yank rolled his eyes and saying "oh sure white men are so oppressed". The way woke Americans fixate on race like this at the expense of other people's issues and impose it on the rest of the world is so utterly toxic.

Here's a point to be made, American Liberals aren't even left wing, they are moderate right wing and also the biggest problem with "rose" activism is that they do not acknowledge class as a problem, they just focus on race, sexuality and gender when that is not always the problem. The reason why Indigenous people have a higher prison population is to do with both Indigenous Australian culture and the class they are a part of as the majority of Indigenous Australians are from lower income households. I think for me trying to understand both sides is important because it means you can bring up the concerns of both sides and basically address them in your argument.
Ridiculous arguments actually come from both sides of the spectrum in political left and right. I love the fact you did get rid of the word "woke" for this argument because to me that word itself brings down so many arguments from the right as it just sounds like you want to complain about gay and trans people. It puts me off a lot of people when they mention "woke" and I will not listen to their points because that word devalues every argument.
I think at the end of the day though, it is too far to blame every white person in the world for the atrocities committed by their ancestors because if you know history, you will know that African history is just as bloody and brutal as European history and Asian History is the same. Every race in the world has ancestors that did horrible things, to use an example the Aztecs (practicing human sacrifice on their neighbours), The Middle East was just as brutal in response to the Crusades in the medieval period. We just forget these things because a lot of people think white people are to blame for everything simply for the fact that Europe was the only continent with empires and cultures to take that brutality of human history to other places in the world and not just on their own continent.

Your brief remarks on religion and the move to a more secular society intrigued me - it was hard to tell if you were stating that this is happening as a matter of fact, or suggesting that it is negatively affecting people of today.
In my opinion the shift away from religion has been one of the most empowering and liberating movements for modern society: organised religions are responsible for so much of the hate, terror, and harm done to people throughout history, not to mention the abandonment of rational thought and open-mindedness for moral objectivism and allegiance to rules made up by a group of men thousands of years ago. This being said, faith, no matter how illusory, provides a sense of meaning to many millions, and my more secular generation faces an existencial crisis of meaning. As we leave behind religion, we tend to gravitate towards something else that will fulfil a 'life purpose', and it seems that the abstract noun of 'Social Justice' has become a replacement deity for many.
You couldn't have made your point about race and culture better. We may be bound to genetics and much of our culture is learned in early childhood, but we have the power to look upon culture critically and view it as removed from race, fluid and imperfect. I took after my asian friends and started taking my shoes off inside a few years ago - it's way better. Also bigger things but yeah word limit for me good video

Another solid video essay mate. Given me a lot to reflect over. I'm certainly one of those people, that in regards to racism, has been saying for years "just stop talking about it and fixating on it so much" as a way to combat ideas that lead to things like 'thought police'. While a mentality like that may help prevent 'the boy who cried wolf' type situations from occurring, it is somewhat reductive by never addressing the core issue, and also comes across as invalidating those who voice such concerns.
I've never been able to argue the idea that criticizing a culture is not the same as attacking ones race effectively before, but you put it together so eloquently in this video. I feel better equipped to handle this topic in future discussions, and I have you to thank for it.
Keep it up man, you're on fire with these!

I love this series. Its very well thought out, and I enjoy that you rationalize everything in order not to scare away the people that need to hear this the most. I get into a lot of internet arguments with actual racists (people that actively express disdain for particular races) and they often do a kind of backwards reasoning where they assume the culture stems from the skin-colour. In a sense this is true, but only insofar peoples skin colour sometimes determines how they are treated by others, which can create a path of least resistance towards becoming a part of a particular culture. They often use Thomas Sowell as a "good black" for critisizing "black culture" in America, yet they do not believe more black people could become like Thomas Sowell. Its very hard to argue with the cognitively dissonant, but this has for sure given me some ammo go work with.

I think the ethos in which someone grows up is very much underestimated. When a child hears something that makes an impression, it sometimes makes a sturdy element of this person's makeup that guides them throughout life. It's constructive when these elements support the will to *get education, think critically, respect others and oneself, read, appreciate art, have empathy for others, love Nature, control aggressive impulses and learn politeness.* It's a hallmark of a lucky individual if such traits exist. A person who has poor upbringing is beset with prolems, perhaps because there were few compelling interactions in their childhood that made for a good foundation. If there were many abusive and destructive interactions, it is extremely difficult to undo their effects. The "rosé activism" or in other words "pseudo-leftism" completely neglects seeing people as individuals who need proper upbringing to function in society; it's all supposed to be an effect of privilege/victimhood dynamic.

I dare anyone to add the word race to the end of any demographic of culture or ethnicity and not imminently consider that statement as grammatically incorrect. When it comes to race, the only intelligent enough species on the planet to even ponder that question in the first place is us, the human race. It's true, it's cultural diversity but this culture practises sharia law and that contradicts the western liberal claims completely. In sharia ruled countries women are seen as literal objects and they are being bought and sold quite literally, under the guise of arranged marriages.
