6:30 The character tokens from It's a Wonderful World also have the same dark edging. It adds a real sense of quality, especially as the tokens are also nice and thick. I assume they used black cardboard, as opposed to simply colouring the edges black. I have ordered Vindication and eagerly await its arrival.
Slightly off topic, but the extended outro meant that I've now heard more of the GR theme tune than ever before: it's really good! P.S. the Vox Pop comments at the end are a nice touch -- would be happy to see that in future reviews.
I played a review copy of Epoch and liked it, but couldn't back it originally. I've had a tough time getting a copy, and all the reviews keeps it on my wishlist
I just always have this irrational annoyance whenever this game is mentioned, because it should not be called Vindication it should be called Redemption (edit to correct previous mistaken use of Retribution). Vindication would be proving that you were right/good all along, but in this game you are finding the good within yourself atoning for your old sins, hence gaining redemption. Irrational I know, but god does it make my blood boil :D
To be fair, their is an archaic meaning of the word which means to liberate or to set free. But yes I agree that it wasn't a good choice. Especially when there is a modern collective consciousness agreement as to what the word currently means and thus doesn't jive with the presented theme.
I believe it ended up that way because of some copyright/trademark claims. So it went from Epoch -> ?? -> Vindication www.kickstarter.com/projects/orangenebula/epoch-the-awakening-board-game/posts/2170976
@@LeeStoneman You are absolutely right, I knew when I was writing the comment that retribution wasn't the word I wanted, but I had one of those mind goes blank moments and just went with what was actually in my head.
You mentioned some elements of the game that I really don’t like as “fighting” monsters... Would you like (your companion) to kill a monster? Oh, it surrendered, here, take it, it’s yours. So... I appreciated that you’ve mentioned it, but you didn’t really share your opinion of it... That is for the purpose of being politically-correct about that it doesn’t bother you..? Anyway, after watched many other reviews I respect the fact that you’ve at least mentioned it clearly... B.S. (*) That part of the game is SO lame... ( * instead of p.s.)

Cool. I get a mention in a gamin rules video. Thanks Paul

This comes up everytime we play, with most of the table annoyed by it long after the game is over.
