Lalo Schifrin has done it in the 70s. Listen to his album "Jazz Meets the Symphony". The version of Mission there has him playing Take 5 as piano solo.
The theme here is that both pieces are in 5/4 time. Unfortunately the alto player just farts on Take Five... he decided to rewrite the part himself, or something.
El tema de Mision Imposible fue compuesta por el director y compositor argentino Lalo Schiffrin, no aparece en los créditos. The theme of Mission Impossible was composed by the argentine director and composer Lalo Schiffrin, it does not appear in the credits.
Rispetto. "music for peace, always and everywhere!"
No .. I think he did not attack on the opening notes at all well and the version overall lacks a lot musically. Improvisation lacks essential "logic" and you need to develop this tune a lot more before launching into solos etc [imho]
Take Five and Mission Impossible have the same 5\4, I think transition between them could be with no pauses, and arrangement could be more interesting.. but very well played, respect
Numerous comments criticize the alto player. Granted his performance in take five was poor. However the overall rendition of mission impossible and his part in it were energizing !
In my opinion this version of Take Five is all over the place. I understand artistic embellishment and freedom when it comes to music, but I think this failed.........Dave Brubeck is the master!
Would have been good playing in this band looks fun with music like this, not what we did at school! : ( mmmm there is that saxophone player again, he is on a different page to everyone else : (
This should have been a thirty minute version of the two masterpieces , playing every detail of the two combined and melted together and not ending so quickly, ua-cam.com/video/SHpXCkRZe7I/v-deo.html
The two most famous pieces in 5/4 time. It's about time someone combined them.

Wow!!! What a great combination of songs.
I've played both these songs with my school band and im in 8th grade, i love both songs
Caitlin Maclons, this is what I was expecting when you said 'little Jazz concert';)
Swing beats are criminally underrated
Espetacular melodia. Me encanta.

I don't know if this is his own style or if he plays take five's song wrong. Respect

Did you tell the alto player that time is five fourth?
Take Five and Mission Impossible have the same 5\4, I think transition between them could be with no pauses, and arrangement could be more interesting.. but very well played, respect
They killed the music too!
Thats some great sax playing!

five four is hard
not really
Vivixxjhobie no
Would have been interesting had this been done as a single 5/4 medley instead....
So I met this chick. And she said she didn't like jazz music. I said, "Baby, you just don't know..."
Molt bo Take Five, mill-or Mission Impossible
Honestly, I don't liked the alto player's sound, I believe he sort of killed that great tune by Paul Desmond. But mission impossible was good
It’s called take 5 because it has 5 beats
Fogyasszatok és adományozzatok! :DDD
Allahu Akbar
Everyone gotta hate on the sax solo
evviva!
The name of this group didn't age well

Sax alto solo... Pfff... 🙉
Beaucoup de bruit pour rien.
A good musician, but his tone is unpolished and abrasive. The big band sounds great!
bongos failed miserably................shame,its the best part of original theme
The sax player on Take 5 sucks... he should've taken 4 only!
too much saxaphone
Who let the alto player play that solo? He's a joke. Maybe he's the bandleader. This is a travesty.
butchers the sax..
Embouchure…..
Horrible alto.
משימה בלתי אפשרית.יצא מצונן מצמרר עם צרידות ...וזו תיפארתו
