Meal prep for the week| What I eat in a week | Living alone in Japan VLOG

- I carried my lunch, still frozen with refrigerant, in a cold bag.
The frozen lunch boxes were thawed in the microwave at lunch time.
All the side dishes tasted almost the same and were delicious.
In the warmer months, I am not sure about carrying them frozen, so more care is needed.
It was very reassuring to have a week of meal in the freezer that I could just heat up and eat .💪

▶ABOUT NAMI NO KURASHI
I'm Nami, living alone in Tokyo.
The Japanese pronunciation "Nami" has several meanings.
One Nami is a girl's name, and the other Nami means ordinary.
Naminokurashi(Nami's life) is a combination of these two meanings.
Kurashi means daily life.
I don't have any special skills. My life is ordinary days.
I hope you enjoy my ordinary days!
Please turn on Subtitle in the Settings.
I used an automatic translator, so I apologize if there are any mistakes.
I love that Nami makes a proper good dinner for herself the vast majority of time, honoring herself with good food and taking the time to do so for herself. It has inspired me in a very positive way to do this for myself also. I like that she never wastes food either and keeps an eye out for the food bargains. Well done Nami and thank you for being a great positive inspiration.

I like this too how she cooks wonderful for herself.. truly peaceful women
Hi Nami, I have a tips for Pasta with Broccoli : Boil the broccoli in salt water for few minutes, and set aside , and use the same water to cook the pasta. In a fry pan warm olive oil with garlic and chily, add 4 or 5 anchoves and fry them for few minutes , join the broccoli and cook for 3 -4 minutes. Add the pasta freshly drained and mix it.
if you want add more olive oil and Parmiggiano.
You can swtich with cauliflower.
Ciao da Venezia 👋
Sounds good! But how do you feel about the ketchup?
Sounds lovely, love garlic.
@@Aaron-kq5kk O my good !!, seasonig pasta with ketchup!. Better with a small piece of butter or olive oil, pepper and grated cheese as well !.
👍😋🙏😘
Hi Nami.
I want to give you 2 pieces of advice:
1. If you plan to eat a frozen meal for breakfast, you should take the meal out of the freezer before you go to bed the night before.
You may move it from the freezer to the fridge of from the freezer to the kitchen top.
This way it will start defrosting slowly during the night. In the morning at breakfast you can simply warm it up in the pan, under the grill or in the microwave. And it will be ready in less time.
2. If you want to remove cooking odours from your apartment do not use just candles. Instead, when you are cooking, open the window and curtains next to your kitchen hobs. You have quite a large window there. Take advantage of it.

Nami
You are so inspiring, Nami. I've been cooking more since starting to watch your videos. Thank you for sharing some of your life with us.
Nami, thank you for sharing your experience with grocery expenses and food prepping. Where I live food is quite expensive these days and I’ve been trying to find some good recipes for meal prep. I will have to try some of these out! In my household it is just 2 people and we spend around $250-$300 a month almost like you. That is just groceries. Thank you for another wonderful video and I hope you have a great week! 🙏🏼💖
I love the recipes you made for meal prep! “TV dinners” were so unhealthy years ago and gave Americans the idea that frozen foods aren’t good for you. But truthfully frozen meals can be very healthy and useful! I hope your video helps to educate people on saving money and time with homemade frozen meal prep. ❤
Hi Nami, for pasta with broccoli (or if you happen to have or know turnips tops) I suggest you make a part of the vegetables in the form of a cream and set aside. In a separate pot, fry a little extra vergin olive oil, garlic and bread powder and/or breadcrumbs, then add the freshly drained spaghetti, the cream obtained previously and the vegetables and... enjoy! You'll see how delicious... In Puglia they are a typical dish. Kisses from Italy! ❤️🇮🇹
This sounds delicious, thank you for sharing! May I ask what this dish is called? Visited Puglia once, very briefly, seemed a pretty place 😊
HI! It takes a precise name according to the shape of pasta used. In our case, in Puglia, the "orecchiette" are used and it is nicknamed in the Apulian dialect as "strascinat con le cime di rap e mollica sfritt". Translate : orecchiette with turnip tops and fried breadcrumbs (Yes, because the original recipe includes it and bread powder too!) I hope I was exhaustive! Bye bye!!

Love Nami as a treat before bedtime to relax. The final part when she was making and wearing the chains and then the comment at the end 'these are not my style'....that was hilarious. Good to know that nobody is perfect.
I am a university student living by myself for the first time and struggling to find time to cook TT Thank you so much Nami! This is so helpful
It's amazing how clear the sound is. I can hear the sizzling of the meat and the cutting sounds as if I stood next to you ☺. The outstanding sound quality adds much to the calming nature of your videos! ❤ Greetings from Germany, Nami-San!

Thank you Nami..I really enjoyed this video more than usual for some reason. Kitty looked happy to see you but sleepy too.😊 Take care and thank you for spending time with us again. ❤
Thank you Nami. It was interesting to see you put together all the freezer meals. I love the little Schnauzer dog chop stick holder. I have a miniature Schnauzer named Tibius. He is 15 years old.

Thank you for sharing your peaceful life with us ❤ 🇬🇧
Thank you, Nami for sharing your cooking tips & how to make accessories. I think you’re doing well. I look forward to watching your videos the most ❤
I love watching you prepare and cook your meals, everything is so different from our way of eating!
I really enjoy the food preparations and storing ideas. Very helpful and looks delicious! I'll bet grandma has given you some good ideas too! Happy birthday to her from the USA!🥳 Thank you.🥰😻
Hello👋🏽Nami…
For many years over a weekend… I’ve cooked meals and frozen them…I’ve found it’s such a time saver…once I got carried away and made meals for almost an entire month…I actually enjoyed doing it.
This was such a great❤️video.

Ah spring is coming to Japan! Im in autumn here. I absolutely love how Japan celebrates each season and try to do a little of it here to.
Bon week-end 😘
Thank you so very much for sharing your experiences, some great tips on food planning. Hope you have a wonderful week, looking forward to your next video

It has been a pleasure watching you grow in all aspects of your life!
Dear Nami, you are so sweet that you are forgiven even the pasta with ketchup! 🤗😍 With a lot of affection Gloria from Turin, Italy❤
For USA: 30,000 yen is just over $227.50 as of March 18, 2023.
157 yen equals $1.19 US.
Walmarts organic spinach is currently over $5 for a 1 pound package.
I've noticed Japanese food prices quoted are always lower than US, using the prices in the Chicagoland area.
Prices are a little lower in Northern Indiana, but not by much. I’m in the South Bend area.
@NO ONE, Thank u for the update.
Peace, health and prosperity to you!
America makes other countries rich and we get poorer
@@ShipperChick the difference in price in Japan to US is manly due to the yen’s weakness, (132y to $1) when it was (100y to $1) just a few yrs ago, the price was comparable.
Japanese prices are much less expensive than here in Charlotte, NC too. Ex: Walmart price on fresh broccoli = $2.48/bunch (326 yen) (not organic, and the "bunch" is smaller than in Nami's video).
I’ve seen vlogs at making okonomiyaki, which I must try the next time I visit Japan. I might try to make it at home, but would definitely need quite a few practices to get it right, especially flipping it over in frying pan! Lol! Love your vlogs, very soothing for me, especially when I come home from a long day at work.
Great video as always Nami! You inspired me to meal prep! Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week! ❤
The food prep for your meals looks so amazing.
Have a good week ahead ~😊
Happy Saturday! I enjoy your videos so much! Thank you!
Bonjour Nami
Amazing Nami ❤ The food you made looks so delicious and nutritious. I love following you. Thank you so much for sharing a little part of your life with us😘
Somehow your vlogs are so relaxing, i always feel refreshed after watching. Thank you so much for sharing your daily life with us 😊
Thank you Nami! Learning cooking and cleaning tips from you
¡Cuánta laboriosidad! 👏🏻
your videos calm me so nice, i could ALMOST go to sleep. thank you💖
Another peaceful, lovely video that I enjoyed with my breakfast in Australia. I was astounded at how cheap your monthly grocery spend is. We have a very high cost of living here, and for 2 people I spend $300aud a week probably (including cleaning products, toiletries etc.) Enjoy all of your incredibly cheap, fresh, nutritious selections in Japan! I always find travelling there to be very economical.
Love your video, thank you for allowing us into a little bit of your life !
Good Morning, thank you for posting. A lovely way to start my day.
Missing you last weekend but so happy you are well now...what a nice surprise to have your video in the middle of the week
I am from NYC. Wow that food looked so good!!!! I enjoyed your video as I always do. I like that fact that you like taking video of cats.
I love your food prep videos. Love your ideas and variety. Have to admit that my Italian heart did cry a little at your pasta sauce but think I’m going to give it a try.
I've been watching faithfully your video's. Cooking is so interesting with items I'm not really exposed to here in South Florida, USA. I've been inspired by all the veggies, ingredients you use. I now shop an Asian store and ask for help to create your recipes. Keep up the good work, I'm a cat lover so when you ended your videos capturing the neighborhood cats you had a viewer for life. Ciao Bella from Sunny Florida
Thank you so much for your videos. They are so calming but also very inspiring. Have a nice week.
Thanks Nami! Keep the videos coming! Love all of them! ❤️💐🌹💐❤️
Good morning, what a great way to start my day, a lovely video from you to inspire my weekend. Thank you for sharing, I so enjoy them so much.
Glad to to see that knife sharpened!
That was great with the pan of old oil, we don’t have that here…that I know of. USA 🇺🇸 here.
You’re new apartment looks very nice.
Maybe since you have a larger apartment, you could buy a small freezer to store more foods in.
I’ve already started on allergy pills myself, I can feel the pollen starting up already.
Very well done. It is so enjoyable to see your hard work and beautiful results. The meals look delicious and inspire me to eat more vegetables. 🥗 🥦 🥕
I Love how stylish and graceful you are! Your parents must be very proud! Also, I appreciate your knife skills, not to mention other techniques you use. You always seem to be willing to learn more and more about life and cooking. As the great French Chef Escoffier would say: "To know how to eat is to know how to live". You possess wonderful Class in all you do. Bravo! Encore Mademoiselle Nami!👩🍳
You are so stylish and organized! 🤩😊 And the best cook! ❤️
I am addicted to the simple elegance and beauty of Nami.
Ottima organizzazione e preparazione dei cibi sicuramente metterò in atto questi tuoi consigli sei molto brava complimenti
I'm so glad when you tell us how much things cost. It's so much more expensive here in eastern Canada and we don't have as much available beautiful vegetables. 😊
Nami
Miłego tygodnia Nami-san! Pozdrowienia z Polski. 💕
Everything is homemade, very cozy and very tasty! Thank you!
You do a beautiful job of meal preparation. I am using your meals for inspiration - thank you. I like the plastic bags you
are using. They look re-useable which I wish I had. Thank you!
It's fabulous ❤. I love your vlog so much 💕💝
You will always be my favourite 💖🥺
Never stop making such a soulful and calming videos 💓
I like to do the same when I can. I live alone so it’s nice to grab something from the freezer after work when you don’t want to cook! And yes food here in Canada is also getting more expensive all the time too.
