Sinner was showing a new level in the last few months, and I thought he would be a threat to everyone. He delivered. As Novak said, he will be hard to stop.
But Novak is something else... the serves and ball placement was out of this world... he had Sinner on the ropes a lot and did not allow him to dictate
@@kwaseb He got acquainted with winning the weak-generation players. Sinner belongs to a consistent and strong team. Simply put, the Serbian can't just handle him.
@@kwaseb no doubt Novak’s defense is on a different level. Yet Sinner has somehow managed to overcome this. Good on him.
@@kwaseb Something else is right. He is a goofy clown.
Novak will qualify,watch
This is another reason why I have huge respect for the humility and modesty of Sinner; when asked about the pressure of the match, Sinner responded “My pressure [as a player] is nothing compared to that of a surgeon or someone who has to put dinner on the table for their family. That's real pressure - not knowing if a rocket will hit your home in five hours or five days. Playing tennis is something to feel honored about”
I like that
@Tuzzz94 Yeah he comes across as a good person.Am a Novak fan but I could see Sinner winning last night and possibly the whole thing
he said that ?? that´s smart.
Basically what Coco Gauff said 6 months ago
Sinner looks like tomas berdych
It's funny how Sinner has slowly crept to the top of the (new) players during the year, eclipsing even Alcaraz. To his credit, when Alcaraz was riding the wave and they asked who he deemed a real threat he said it was Sinner.
No wonder why. Carlos and Jannik have been playing each other since their junior days and Carlos knows what Jannik is capable of.
@@Perebynis The same happens to Federer and Nalbandian. They Are mature in the same generation, in junior leagues. Federer usually struggles to play against him.
The game is so much more interesting when the top 5 or so can all beat each other on any given day. 2024 is going to be a great year.
Sinner really can pose a threat to anyone if he can maintain his health. He's kind of a combination of Federer and Thiem. Combine the fast tempo with the extreme hard-hitting.
Sinner is Alcaraz's kryptonite
I cant believe Sinner played 3 hours with this stunning level.... Brave, agressive, confidence, power..... Wow that was amazing..... Huge congrats for him🎉🎉🎉
Totally expected to see Djokovic find a way around Sinner, or have Jannik choke it away like all others do. Definitely a big step forward for him. 🎾
Very confident and really steady smooth mind all through the game
The power he can generate is absurd. The slaps hurt on both sides. Kudos to both for this stunning match and gz to Sinner for the W!
beats Medvedev twice in a row for 2 titles, and now breaks Novak's 19 match winning streak-what an incredible season for Sinner!
Still not as impressive as what Alcaraz did up until Wimbledon. It's great to win matches but Sinner needs to start winning Grand slams.
@@Mntguy-nr9vltime will tell! He is now improving and have a new deadly weapon (serve) .
it's true he only needs this performance in GS. if he can show consistency of his game multiple GS is not hard to achieve
Great win for Sinner. And Djokovic still looks great for 36.
@@Mntguy-nr9vlNovak still gonna win this
What I appreciate most about Jannik is his humility and quiet demeanour. The way he reacted when he won the match - classy and respectful. 🎉❤
That is exactly what I appreciate the less about Jannik. He just beat the world No. 1 for the first time in his career and he reacts with almost no enthusiasm and passion. When veterans do that is understandable, but for such a young guy, it's weird, he should be more energetic and excited. Perhaps he is not yet totally comfortable with being more extroverted. I hope he develops that side of him, the more he wins.
Unlike Blake Shelton.
@luiscaetano6184 you should watch the post-match interview; he said it means the world to him! I'm sure he cares a lot but, to me, he shows it at the right time / right way. The improvement we've seen in him across 2023 show how much he cares and all the work he's put in behind the scenes for sure. 😁
The first gentleman in this sport for a long time.
And Djokovic's graciousness in defeat. a marked contrast to some...
Love love love Sinner! his game and form keeps improving. He keeps prioritizing his physical and mental health and it thanking him with such wins.. keep it up Sinner.. Wow what a match❤ !!!! Sinner's smile at end 🥰
He can win a Grand Slam in a year or two.
@@FearsomeVoid i hope he wins the ATP finals but he still has beat Daniel whose very strong right now

Did you have a w@nk?
Congrats to Sinner on a fantastic match! He's come a long way this year and improved so much. As Djokovic said, "it was fully deserved because he was more decisive and aggressive in pressure points."
However, if anyone will learn from a loss, it's Djokovic! Should they meet in the Finals after RR play, I'd still bet my money on Djokovic!
nostradamus
I like his humble and calmness in the court that makes him a warrior. Congratulations sinner u deserve the win....
I think it’s time for sinner to win his first grand slam. So much improvement since Wimbledon, he reaches another level right now .
Agreed.
He deserves one with this level of play.
players have to go and actually win one tho. some players have multiple masters and ATP finals titles too and no slam.
@@huzcer Well, yeah, that's how it works. Plenty of players have deserved to win a Slam but few have actually done it.
@@thevinisoYep, many "deserved" one at one particular time and never could get it, like Tsonga, Nishikori, Nalbandian or Zverev. Even someone that proved many times to be able to perform at the big time like Thiem, reached the Slam and then dissapeared. It's hard to maintain top level that long.
Holger Rune beat Novak last year and was nowhere to be seen in slam finals this year. This was no doubt a huge win for Sinner, but Bo3 and Bo5 are completely different sports. Beating Djokovic in a slam is a much more difficult task.
This was playing a final boss performance for Jannik. What a great match
Final boss part 1, he will probably face him in the final since Djokovic is not disqualified
It’s a bit crazy hey, beating Djokovic is like a rite of passage at this point. It feels that rare that anyone who can do it deserves an accolade.
@@An00bisY00tubis ya to beat the Goat is not that easy.
@@An00bisY00tubisIt also depends on the context. For instance, Hurkacz mop the floor with an injured Federer; Fritz, McDonald and Tiafoe pummeled a diminished Nadal. Even Nole was defeated in matches where he wasn't at his best like vs Lajovic, Musetti or Rune in Rome; but whenever you beat a player of the level of Djokovic in an instance when he is playing very well, that is impressive indeed. This year only 2 guys did it imo, Alcaraz in Wimby and Sinner today.
@@georgebuki2306sinner também não está ainda. N ganhou em sets direto.

Fantastic match and what I like about Djoko is that even when he looses he still is so sportsmanlike to his opponents.
Everything in him is fake except his powerful and tricky tennis
@dvanleuverden Just not to his racquets 😆
nah he is faking it haha
Coz That was the only thing he could do in this match as his inner evil was too got humbled by Humble Sinner
Sinner is not just a great player, but a great person. No grunting, always fair. Cool guy and great to watch
I agree
Unlike alcaraz and his shitty grunt all the time
What an elegant and humble player Sinner is. A great model for many young players.
Absolutely!
You are so stupid to see that in sport we need pasion and fire, no humble and quiet players.
Agree. He's ... efficient. He puts his energy into his game and doesn't waste it with histrionics.

Incredible returns from Novak and Sinner, what a match
Janik is just amazing to watch. The way he dispatched the GOAT in the 3rd set tiebreak is unbelievable. Great match!
Djoko is not the GOAT
We won't hear any GOATtards for at least a couple of days... wow!
McEnroe is the GOAT.
McEnroe the most talented player ever, untouchable.
The most talented player ever was McEnroe. But he was only GOAT material for one year - 1984 (when that peak year of his was maybe the greatest ever). Whereas Novak is GOAT overall - at least in tennis terms - and has lots of years where he was the best of the greatest generation.....
This aggressive playstyle that sinner has, really going for winners and moving the opponent around rather than waiting for an error or playing more defensive. It's just so much fun to watch
I hope la Nazionale (men's football) played like that. Another difference is that so called football players are fashion models in their heads, while Sinner is a tennis player. I hope he won't change that mindset over time.
What a match!! Sinner was kinda blocked in the first 6 games but then he started to hit hardly...it was epic
Thanks for the beautiful win
Sinner won only because of braindead chair umpire.
Yeah i felt Djokovic played far better from the serve than Jannik did. Jannik kept head-hunting him in the rallies, though
When Jannik decided to start playing hard there was no more match
Only won beacuse the drugs worked off from djocovid 😂😂😂
Fantastic match and nice to see the mutual respect afterwards! Great win for young Sinner, and Novak gracious in both victory and defeat as always.
I'm sorry - Novak is a creep. His instincts have always been to cheat and be underhand. He's only been putting on this charm offensive for the last few years because his PR consultants told him to....

This is how good you have to be to beat Nole, man what an effort from Sinner, this match gave everybody a message that if you have to beat djoko you have to be on god mode, amazing win for sinner i’m rooting for you to win this title
I think that's the correct analysis of this match's significance. Not "future number 1" or "change of the guards". Sinner played fantastic tennis and still won only by the tightest of margins. It's possible but still very speculative he can maintain this level. Djokovic on the other hand has been maintaining this level for 13 years straight. He's ALWAYS this good.
I'm rooting for Sinner myself, but I'm still expecting Djokovic or even Rune (my dark horse) to win this tournament.
@@knotwilg3596 Correct. Some people jump into uplifting a player after one great match. Sinner has to do this on a regular basis to be uplifted like some are doing. Many players have had at least one match where they played on God mode, but very few can do that often.

What an amazing match ! Sinner showed unbelievable qualities in tennis and mental. He learned from his defeats and came back stronger than ever. Stronger than anyone?
What Sinner did was having the nerves of steel, and playing brave. Surely almost no one can achieve this against Novak lately. He showed us glimpse of greatness, and measure of it is nothing other than the goat himself. We must applaud both players for such high quality and courageous tennis. Thank you, thank you
Мне тоже очень нравится спокойствие Синнера👍👍
Coming from a novak fan : sinner played the match of his life. Amazing level from the 🥕 boy. Defeating nole in a 3rd set TB is an amazing job. Sinner was serving bonkers, he was receiving brilliantly ,his ground strokes were of highest quality , some plays and passes he made were absolutely top notch. Even Djokovic couldn't stop himself from applauding a few of those. And mainly sinner was mentally up for it.
Djokovic was also playing at a decent level. Not that he was at his best but still he could beat anyone with this level. Djokovic really made some UFE where he generally makes those shots and it's ok to loose to a guy who played better today.
But if it is a sinner vs Djokovic final then it will a different Djokovic altogether. The level will keep on increasing from here on and sinner will see a different monster at the finals.
Novak vs jannik on hardcourts will be a treat to watch.
Also coming from a novak fan : see you in the finals jannik. the scoreline won't be the same 😉.
We will see mate, but first I'm dreading that matchup with Rune
the only touch opponent for Sinner is Daniel while Novak still has Alcaraz and Daniel to beat after losing to Sinner..
@@zamantshingamtshali4475 if Alcaraz makes it to the semi-finals, that is.
Djokovic has to get out of his group first. He must win his match against Hurkacz to put pressure on Rune to beat Sinner. And even if Djokovic wins in 2 sets, if Rune wins in 2 sets as well, then Djokovic is out. The way that Sinner is playing, Rune will have a tough time. But also Rune has had a lot more time to rest than Sinner has. And Rune almost beat Djokovic. So this group isn’t over quite yet
As for Alcaraz, he must win against Rublev and Medvedev to give himself the best possible chance to make it. This year’s ATP Finals just got a whole lot more interesting

Whoohoo what a match!!! congrats to Jannik, he deserves it for sure 😊.. and a great sportsmanship from Novak at the end.. both are playing tennis at highest level.. you have to like tennis when you watch matches like this 😁✌
Sou muito fã do Nole. Quando ele se aposentar , Sinner terá minha torcida. Gosto muito do tênis maravilhoso q ele joga. E gosto da pessoa que ele é.
Es muy umilde
Verdade
Eo jogo mehlor ,ei soy o ronaldihno do tenis.
We know Sinner's got hands, got legs, he moves really well. But damn, his anticipation skills are out of this world. Just sheer confidence around the court 🔥
Chicken legs he needs some weight on immediately
jobless@@Anticommunism99
@@Anticommunism99yeah but He still win, go cry home looser
@@Anticommunism99 Not really, more muscle mass ≠ more endurance. If he wanted to put on more muscle mass he definitely would’ve done so by now.
@@paoloromano6264 then he should forget about GS and having any chances of winning them .
djokovic looks like he is enjoying his new role as he is sharpening the next gen. It almost looked like he knew sinner needed this win to develop
He's gone from being a Sinner to being a SAINT 👏👏👏
Not sure if this is an overused joke and I've been missing it, but it sure did crack me up.
Just call him Jannik Winner
Much better than Roger Moore, that’s for sure 😂
Assasinner 😂
Truly large screen Sinnermatic
Today we can say that Jannik has reached a mileston and that he is becoming a serious candidat not only for the masters but for the Grand Slam in particularly Wimbledon and Us open 🎉. What a performance !
And the next Australian Open, too.
Terrific match ! The best two players at the moment!
Bro forehand was electrifying on last set. Forza 🇮🇹 italia
one of the best bo3 matches of the year no question, phenomenal level from both players. there were lots of ups and downs and a very emotional match. hoping to see more great tennis from them in this tournament and beyond 🥂
Thank you Jannik congratulations👏🏼🇮🇹
Congratulations Jannik! What a match!
Fantastic! I hope he can keep this level up
TRULY INCREDIBLE PERFOMANCE BY SINNER!!
I loved every moment of this match. Sincere Sinner fought till the end and what a win against world number one. 👌🏻👍🏼 Gutsy young man Sinner👌🏻
Legend in the making!!
YESSSSSSS!! got a little scared djokovic was going to outlast him at the 2nd set, but my god that was some clean tennis from sinner. i bet on him since the beginning, well deserved
I’m loving how fast this court is. It really upends the paradigm of the usual baseline battles.
What a game from Sinner... Goes to history books for sure.... Class man....
What a great match. Jokovic humbly praised Sinner with a smile 😀😀😀
Ne moze GOAT Novak da prica ponizno.
Djokovic, as good as he is , is a prime prick.
Humbly 😂😂 he was fuming inside 😅😅
@@grimpop88 exactly. Djokovic and humble should never belong in the same sentence...
@@gibcoprobe66 Exacltly for me it’s not all about just winning in any sports. That is difficult Ofcorse and you have to work really really hard. But what’s even more important is how you carry yourself as a champion and how you behave. That why huge Fan of-the likes of the Nadals and the Ronaldo’s .
It had to happen sometime. Sinner was rampant and I had the impression that Novak knew this was not going to be his day. You can't win em all and Novak knows that.
Novak is a clown and should be ashamed for his immaturity given his age. Still taunting opponents and public like a crybaby. I so hope he quit soon, he is a disappointment for the world of sport.
It beacuse he is a crybaby and his fans 😂😂😂
Jannik may be on of the few top players (not to mention others in the top 200) Not accepting Bribes from very filthy rich White people to lose to Novaq.
Congrats, Jannik!
Even when he loses he manages to blow my mind , he is 36 for God sake and he was toe to toe with the sharpest player in the circuit now , his flexibility the way he moved on court and specially his automotivation , what drives him now? I mean is there any unbroken record left for this guy?, I mean I´m Spanish Nadal is my idol but Nole is arguably the GOAT and the most amazing and complete player who ever held a racket
Pure show, thanks to both of them.
Coming into his pan the teenage ski champion who concentrated on tennis late at 16 . Incredible rise and getting real close to the top
Novak had a chance, what an incredible player with that age!
He will win the tournament
He seemed relaxed throughout the match, maybe as he said he achieved Year-end number 1 and the rest is just a bonus.
1:03 was the point that determined the match
