The 6200 with firmware 1.0.3 gave this radio full power of at least 5 watts on battery and I have seen as high as 11.5 watts on external power. I paired this with the xp125b power amp and it is the most versatile setup money can buy. The 6200 is one great radio.
It looks like the 6200 has a much weaker receiver. the icom has clean signals across the waterfall while the 6200 looks to barely receive the same signals.
Great comparison Andreas, I've had a friend over today with his Icom IC705. I know the X6200 only TX's up to 6m compared to 70cms on the 705 but i think value for money wise, the Xiegu X6200 wins for me especially as it has ATU. Just a shame the X6200 doesn't have touch screen. Thanks for the videos 👍
The IC-705 is the absolute best radio hands down!!! The Xiegu doesn’t perform as well. IMHO. Andreas can you please make a recommendation for a power amp for these two radios?
I have an IC705 and a 6100, the Icom is a long way ahead of the Xiegu in almost every way, the 6200 has a replaceable battery and a tuner but really it is still way behind. If you can afford a second hand 705 buy it over either Xiegu. Can you make contacts and have fun with the Xiegu? Of course you can but the 705, while a little more physically tender is way more capable.
Compare the frquenzy 705 is better than X6200，the main point is I guest technically still cant imprement U/V as same as 705，maybe cost or tenical ,dont know even their X6200 price not so compeditive at this moment. I would highly recomend wait 2025 Yaesu new QRP than to compare it you will found which one is the best.
The new microphone is not 'solid'. They simply put a lead weight inside to make it feel heavier, like it was made from better materials. Take that weight out and it feels like a toy microphone like the old one.

Yes agree its does what it is meant to do well.
Hi in Air Band you have to turn off the ATU because the filters connected are for HF bands and attenuate the reception on Air band!

The XIEGU X125 is good .
Check out the Elecraft KXPA100 to Icom 705 video that K6UDA made a few years ago.
Its a tough comparison when the items in question are so far apart in price.

They changed from elastomer (rubbery) light-leaky buttons on the X6100 to hard plastic ‘only the letters are lit’ buttons on the X6200.

I think Xiegu has proven they can't support their radios. I have two of them. Get the Icom. You'll be much happier.
