It was good that Grandma got a full grown cat instead of a kitten. Calmer and easier for an elderly person to deal with. Older pets are often euthanized because most people want kittens. Same with dogs.
I love kittens but they are so much like toddlers exploring and overflowing with energy therefore I always prefer older cats. Plus their claws and teeth are so tiny and sharp it's like razor blades especially if they are hiding under furniture and go after a bare foot.
Black cats and dogs, especially, are less likely to be adopted, though there are some dillweeds who get black cats for their Halloween parties or costumes and then dump them afterwards.

Also guys, be careful on Halloween, if you have a cat with black on it do not let it out! People get worried when they see a black cat and may just kill it if they can. It is very sad, so it is best to keep them inside.
What a lovely happy Christmas for noth the mum and cat, blessings xx
My mom is a huge cat lover and she is turning 80 this year. When I saw this tears sprang into my eyes. The instant love between them was pure and it really hit home for me!
I really appreciate that giving an adult cat especially to an elderly person is treated just like giving a kitten would be! Not everyone needs the hassle of a kitten in their lives. And we like kittens but we spend most of our cat loving time on the adult cat.
adult cats get far less chances, too, because everyone always wants kittens. i personally only ever adopt grown cats from shelters. i feel as if they need love the most, as they probably missed out on so much of it their whole lives. god bless this family
Also as like humanbeings, adult cats behave better than kittens (and look way better than kittens, again, like humans imo)
And black cats are more difficult to re-home coz of stupid superstitions.
Adopted adult cats from shelters arguably show the most love and affection then any other type of cat.
That cat looked quite young still, between 1 and 3
Seeing such a happy eldery women makes me want to cry this was beyond adorable

It didn't just make me *want* to cry!! Sniff, sniff. The woman's little "Oh!" of surprise & delight slayed me!

Elderly people are cute. They warm my heart.
I can't believe how calm and placid the cat was after being in a box and then being hugged by someone it didn't know yet, that is a special cat for sure
I agree. That was one very calm cat.
Yeah dude that cat settled in right away.
It was properly wondering if it had been dead or alive or even some state in between.

Also that she loves black cats. Poor things are the last ones to be adopted in shelters. Really shows what a big heart she has.
