Can we modify the wires...the two pins can we combine both.?..i have hall sensor 137 but spoiled already...i cant find here ...can i modify it by connecting the two pins..i mean the first and third.

Can you do it without the bread board as if you actually testing a crank sensor

How strong should be the magnet? From 3 hall sensors on my motor, none switches. It's hard to believe all 3 are bad. I have tried several magnets and I do flip them, but can't get 5 volts between the ground (middle) and the out. :(

Are there different characteristics of hall transistor? Where they can replaced one onother or you need the exact or replacement? what consequences if it is not the exact one ? does the hall transistor have parameters to meet like transistor specially frequency, voltage, current or min. magnetic flux?

Should all be the same except for operating voltage and sensitivity as well as operating temperature and such.
Wont hurt if you replace it with what looks more or less the same.
Be sure to check the datasheet to verify operating voltage range and pinout. It may look the same but could have different pinout.

my hall sensor for an ebike hub motor seems to work in the opposite. it always passes 5v, until the manet gets close. is this wrong? is my sensor bad, or was i sent the wrong thing, or did i order the wrong thing? i ordered honeywell ss41 and these are apparently a generic. i am trying to learn electronics, but mainly i want to get my bike fixed and know i have some bad sensors

I am not sure these sensors are used as transistors to pass voltage from one pin to another.
In this case, when magnet is away, there is no connection between ground and output.
When magnet is close, output is establishing the connection to the ground but not like a complete short, only 60 ohms in this example.
      That's resistance.
Normally this is good enough to be used as 0 and 1, on or off detection.
Its the computer or circuit designs job to act based on the status of this sensor.
If 1, run the bike. If 0 don't run.
Not sure exactly how your sensor is wired, but I don't think it's normal to act like a transistor.
Try replacing it, it's cheap anyway.

How critical is the distance between the sensor and magnet? I am working with one in a Logitech G920 Sim-Racing Wheel and someone suggested using small washers to add some space between the magnet in sensor to help fix a re-centering error of the wheel after aggressive turns.
I can’t find anyone talking about the effects the sensors have if the spacing isn’t just right.
Thank you for the video. God bless.

Closer the more likely it will sense it.
There is no need to look for a sweet spot.

Your recenter ING error can be programmed caused and not components failure. Most I have heard of has always been incompatibility or programming issues. Good luck, if is hall effect sensor and you know this that swap out bad sensor... 😂😂😂😅

    Hallo Toni,
    D.Walter

You apply voltage and end up reading resistance instead of voltage difference for the charge deflection. So much for what is taught in the first place. (So instead of causing voltage, the presence of magnet removes the voltage, plus this sensor is the one that is sold and is cheapest of course and everyone uses it). It is not your fault of course. I bet if you put your meter on volt setting, it would read voltage there and when you move the magnet close to it, the voltage is gone. You want the hall that coincide with what is taught? You got to pay for that and you have to look hard and know the lingo to find it in the first place. Omni, uni polar, non-latching etc.
It is no different than other teachings. Instead of positive and negative alternating in the alternating current, what you get in the world is hot and neutral and ground and whatever..... and how about the 0 and 1. It is all just 0s and 1s while you can't find them anywhere.

Not the point, how do you know if it is not the receiver. This is called fault testing. And to be honest to test them can be done in circuit. But yes it is necessary to know if it is bad before just replacing any part. 😂
