Nuclear Weapons aren't real in the way you think.
These weapons were used nonstop to fight the people of any nation that had them and are still being used!
The weapon splits the Nuclear Family and dismantles any society that uses the lie.
Truth is that you cannot create nuclear bombs because uranium doesn't disperse its energy fast enough to cause an explosion.

1: History is not written by the victor. History is written by witnesses and historians. The lost cause support for the confederacy is clear evidence for this.
2: if western history classes don’t mention Gorbachev a lot, how does that reinforce the idea that history is written by the victor? He has a positive view in the west for exactly as you describe. Blame how watered down History classes are in public school.

(Edit as of 14 November 2019: I have noticed several comments in this thread has been deleted or otherwise removed. Where the thread has once held a complete record of discourse on my comments on Gorbachev, it no longer does. I caution that the arguments, perspectives and representations contained in replies to this post has been edited by UA-cam or some individual with the ability to do so. I am not aware of any replies being personally aggressive or intentionally offensive, and I see no reason behind such editing. While it is sad for me to say, the following is no longer a true recollection of free speech at the time. Below is my original post.)
    This man’s legacy is concession.
When two world powers stood on the edge of world destruction, each more willing and eager to move closer and closer, each willing to threaten and dare the other side, this man conceded the us against them, victory or death, zero-sum race to the end of humanity.
With one fell swoop, he gave up the dreams, blood, sweat and tears of the Russian people. He gave up the hope of Russian domination and he dissolved a union which embodied a millennia of cooperation.
Yet he saved his people, spared them suffering of all the economic and social political toll that was unsustainable to keep the arms race going. He saved the people of Asia, Middle-east and Eastern Europe from decades of proxy wars. He walked the line of reform bordering on treasonous. He saved the world from nuclear war and ensured humanity will continue. And yes, he saved countless Americans, who were the enemies, so that they too, may live on.
Gorbachev demonstrated the spirit of humanity in his concession. The humility to be the loser rather than self-righteous, prideful, and sadistic mutually destructive soviet union. He could have, lived, died and upheld his ideology to the cost of all else, like so many dictators, tyrants and kings of the old. His humanity won. There is no finer moment in human history than when one sacrifice all they hold dear, to ensure salvation upon their enemies. And that, is this mans legacy.

Gorbachev is the last leader of the Soviet Union. He led the Soviets from the height of the cold war, to conceding the code war to America and then disbanding the Union in 1991.
Compared to the Stalinists and hardcore conservatives before him, he was the most progressive. He saw the famine, despair and suffering in his people, so he slowly allowed western developments into the USSR. It was under him that McDonalds was allowed, that Pop music was allowed, that JEANS was allowed into the USSR. From the people's perspective, he was a great reformer, making concessions on the Iron Curtain and allowing these things to bring a little happiness into the lives of the people.
From the USSR traditional leader and bureaucratic system's point of view. Gorbachev was a traitor. He was betraying the ideals of communism and socialism (even though the USSR was never truly Marxist) and the greatest work union of the world. He was allowing the people to be 'contaminated' by western capitalistic and imperialistic ideals. He was making concessions to the enemies without getting anything in return. He was visibly losing on purpose, the cold war. Gorbachev faced a lot of opposition in the USSR internally, there were coups and he was, at one time, arrested by the KGB.
From the western perspective, Gorbachev was the weakest link in the line of USSR leaders. He could be reasoned with and his care for the people of the USSR was a leverage upon which he could be bargained with. Despite all the public impression, Ronald Reagan (who was actually fairly anti-war) met with Gorbachev several month after he was elected at Geneva and reached one of the earliest understandings/agreements on nuclear disarmament. The west saw it as a sign of weakness, and crafted the careful deal of NATO, upon which Gorbachev conceded Germany but NATO must not expand eastwards past Germany. It was made in good faith but after the concession, NATO expanded east until the Russian border. They saw Gorbachev as a fool. A man who made concessions but should have realised the full repercussions.
I have made my perspective on this man clear in my first post. To elaborate, prior to his leadership, the USSR was concerned with how to win a hypothetical nuclear war with the US, or failing to win, how to inflict maximum, first strike, uninterruptible damage to the most major cities as possible. It was an apocalyptic era, the wealthy in the US built their own bomb shelters and stocked them with rations. Children was taught how to flip over their school desks and hide behind them against nuclear fire. The governments were even worse, when US declared a missile defense system that could deflect 90% of the ballistic missiles with certainty, the USSR would declare that if 10% of their nuclear arsenal breached the defense system, it would still average out to about 4-5 nukes per city and cause the total destruction of the US. Each state was drunk on this bravado, us against them certainty that saw nuclear tests gets bigger and bigger, take place in the heavens and under the sea. Moving nukes closer and closer to their enemies, US moved them to Turkey, USSR tried to move them to Cuba. The latter resulted in the closest moment the world ever came to world destruction. It was a drunken zeal that few at the time stopped to consider the true consequences.
Look at the US now, Trumpians and Democratics could not be more divided. It is as if the grand canyon opened beneath the people of the US, each side living in a bubble of their own, shrieking at the other side while refusing to listen. Gorbachev lived during a time and in a USSR ideology 'bubble' worse than today's information bubble. He had no access to the outside world, no internet, no globalist perspective, no friends from overseas. He was born and breed in the deep red, communist agenda that begun with Lenin. Yet something in him allowed him to think above all of that, to lift himself up and step outside of the bubble by himself, against incredible forces, to consider the world and the future. To realise that the only way to win a game of nuclear war, is not to play.
Hence he conceded. Unappreciated and misunderstood, seen in a negative light by most sides, as a traitor, as a weakness, as a fool. But I consider him a great man. I do not consider a country great because it has great military strength and the willingness to apply it. I consider the greatness in countries, in leaders, in humanity by the restraint, humility and mercy in having such force, yet having the wisdom to concede, to be the bigger man in history. As the world move towards more and more division, extremism and conflict (armed or otherwise), may men like Gorbachev prevail.

Donald Mackay Yet I’m not wrong. I would much rather be hit in the face than shot. None of the wars since the Second World War have been major escalations of global conflicts. They just have not been anywhere near that bad. That isn’t to say they’ve not been bad it’s just the nuclear option is why we haven’t had a war with over 75 million casualties since the Second World War. I’m sorry but I’d much rather take the 90ish thousand dead U.S soldiers from Vietnam and Korea combined than the millions that another global conflict would’ve cost. WW2 (he couldn’t fight since he was too young but he experienced it)
    Cold War
    Chernobyl (he’s against nuclear weapons)
Allowed elections to the Warsaw Pact members
    Dissolved the Soviet Union
And heck he’s probably watching the news about the war in Ukraine. I would love to see him in person. He’s the type of guy that’s like your grandparents curious about their past and you go with them to a local coffee shop to have a drink.

The USSR was bound to collapse with or without Gorbachev. It is to ethnically diverse and was in too dire of poverty to actually maintain itself. They couldn't project their power in Germany anymore and the second the rest of the world saw that was when the overthrow of communist states finally happened.
People finally saw the evil empire unable to project its power like it used to and they took that chance to get rid of its puppets. Gorbachev took over a crumbling empire. The only thing special about him is that he was there when it finally died

Just before the collapse, people voted to keep the Soviet Union unite in a referendum. After that, in 1993 a democratically elected pro-communist Supreme Council was attacked with tanks by Yeltsin. Even today, after years of Putin's nationalist liberal propaganda, surveys show that a lot of people liked it more to live in USSR and have decent healthcare, education and wages. @@AleksandreMzhavia The USSR had no economy and no food thanks to his economic reforms. I'm not suggesting that the Soviet economy was in good shape before him, it definitely wasn't, however he took a stagnant yet certainly salvageable economy and turned it into a complete mess that, along with other mistakes of his doing, resulted in the collapse of the USSR.

Reflecting on the international tensions during the 20th century, as a proponent for peace, even a peacemaker, Gorbachev stands out beyond others. Considering the legacy of his predecessors, and the political games they had to play, his achievements are nothing short of miraculous. An extraordinary person.
