I joined the RAF in 1970, from Lowestoft, we used to love coming home on leave to Lowestoft. Especially when we were in the North of Scotland, we would spend a day in the high street shopping, mainly for the kids, Days on the beach. We spent the first part of the nineties living in Germany, so did not set foot in Lowestoft for several years. I could not believe the change, the town had been devastated in two decades, so sad to see it now.
