also everything can be explained by all the money sinks. ect ge tax. I repeat no one wishes their items to be taxed. so no one will sell unless unfortunately they make more then what the tax would take out. Its a terrible idea that was pushed without player input and i believe if the general public polled it it would be deleted. Some more evidence of what impact it had is the graphs you are showing in this video. absolute titanic of a decision.

Im not sure if any of these economy changes are necessarily bad.
I would argue it is only ''bad'' for low levels who are trying to get into end game. GP comes much harder for lower level players. Otherwise it isn't a big deal really no.
They’re not. This is just weak content farming. He claims they’re not ‘bad’ overall but names a niche reason for thinking they could be considered bad, despite the title of the video clearly making a generalization.
In reality this doesn’t even affect new players or low level players. They don’t need blubbers for example. The game’s content scales with your level. You shouldn’t need blubbers until you’re actually into higher end pvm.
@TheSCPStudio not gunna lie, what are you even talking about. I, for the longest time, ran only rocktails because of the fact that blue blubbers cost so much, keeping me from using brew/blubber tick eating, which has taken me much further into my pvm journey. I always believed the hardest boss I'd kill was vindicta for the longest time, yet yesterday I hit 1000% enrage at telos and got my first dormant weapon drop (already had the orbs). I wouldn't have even attempted this with rocktails or even sailfish. But buying even 100 if these costs 1.5m, for the upkeep costs of augments, degradable gear, cost of overloads, summons etc, yes these do keep lower level players from using blubbers. Not all of us have a bank that makes jagex shudder

@@DylanH-sf5gi it can be annoying but if you afk’d fishing there to 99, you should have plenty. Honestly, a lot of bosses can be no food’. I haven’t touched my food in forever and i do 2k zammy solo, no food. 🤷🏼♂️
@@DylanH-sf5gi after awhile you learn to no food but yeah gathering resources can definitely make you wanna get back to mainscape sometimes. Ironman has become my main but I still enjoy fashion scape and mainscape in general lol

Necro killed the game way more than content creators and jagex are willing to admit. Combat is diluted, drops are low value, motivation is near 0, everyone I know is now going for 120 all because none of us want to pvm anymore. Ive never been a RS3 doomsayer but i genuinely don't see how this game has 3 more years of content coming. Necromancy is going to be, in retrospect, as detrimental to the games longevity as EoC was for many. Even with all the people skilling now it doesn't matter. People either use proteans or do whatever is most AFK which typically doesn't bring a lot of resources into the game. The whole game is broken from pvm to skilling
necro came out which made a lot more people able to do combat, a lot of players quit during this time, etc.
Necro came out and the powercreep allowed people to bot high lvl bosses like Rasial and Vorkath, as a result, bots stopped doing blue blubbers and instead went for the more lucrative high end PVMing stuff. If you we were to get highscores for these 2 bosses in particular, I wont be surprise if the top 10 are all bots.
blubbers went up when people reach rasial and figured out it was a dps dummy that also required the occasional eating but didnt want to eat solid foods so blubbers became very wanted
Honestly big reason for green blubbers prices was created by content creators and pvm, first influx in price i remember when greens jumped to 1k blue blubbers were around 9k and someone said using greens as money sawing trick in a video.
Then we got necro and everyone was doing rasial and any other boss they could comfortably do by using greens instead of blues and from what i have noticed from clanmates/friends they all go for greens first rather than blues cause the difference is quite neglible.
Not sure the economy of the game is "getting worse" when demand rises for blue blubber jellyfish like mad due to necromancy. Logically, the prices will rise. Nothing ridiculous about it. Most of the price rises can be explained by player behaviors on a large scale. PvM supplies in massive demand, major 110 updates coming meaning selling today is risky as tomorrow you could make absolutely insane bank, less skillers than people fighting bosses, merchers, etc etc etc.
Perhaps the main thing is PvM'ers are starting to notice they actually need to pay for their supplies (shocking, I know-those ain't free and you gotta give your share of the profits to skillers to get some) and thus there is a reduction in their profit margins? Same for Bik pages. They are not a free clue scroll fountain. Rather than bossing being a self-sustaining chain where all you need you get as drops with minimal need to go out and actually spend ze coin on supplies, it's healthier to make it just be one activity among many.
Basically, supplies can no longer be taken for granted. And I think that's nice, as skillers get more reason to keep skilling/their role in the game's supply chain is highlighted as not something to be taken lightly. As it should be, in my opinion, over bosses just dropping mostly everything you need.

@@shotnothing3419 its not that supply is not as elsatic, problem is that majority of supply is gone, this is what happens when majority of bots jump from skilling activities to high tier PVM activities mainly because necro is so damn available. majority of bot farms left skilling during that time, big part of elite clue bots also started to pvm instead, prices will keep going up

So much of the shift is the sanctum announcement.
Sanctum drove demand for nox comps to tackle a new dungeon and the source of nox components rax is a literal anti dps boss.
Sanctum drove demand for bubblers as they are pretty much the best food for pvm as they don't hurt your dps by draining adrenaline.
Sanctum drove demand for charges so people can grind the new dungeon for weeks without neededing to resupply.
Bik pages is a mix of public croesus being dead and necro killed demand for cryptbloom and thus made croesus less desirable as a boss for profit.
Elder logs are spiked for bonfire boosts and high end construction training at the fort
The skip tickets is more people playing on linux, mobile, steam, or mac and not having alt 1 to solve the puzzle for them
Bik pages were more likely cos the cluescapers had a MASSIVE opening (10s of 1000s) last month and now they're restocking
Wouldn't most PVMers atlteast end game pvmers not need elder longs because they already have the upgrade?
@@Aioaverona yeah i dont know what elder logs are being used for but it isn't bonfire boots. Most everyone will have the wars upgrade unlocked. As someone that largely PVMs I don't think having some high value skilling items like blubbers and elder logs is a bad thing... As soon as Jagex adds *any* of these items to boss drop tables they become worthless trash and I don't think that is good for the game either.
Fishing blue blubbers is reasonable XP & GP. They should leave it that way.
@mygtavideos3955 Same here. Besides the bonfire boost which requires 1,000 which is roughly 14m, it doesn't serve any other purpose then that, that I know of. In that late of the game, you wouldn't need it for bows or the arrow shaft. Maybe for the fort upgrade and that's why it's so expensive? Botanist work bench, chapel, command center and the guard house all uses elder logs to become T3 could that be the reason?
Just be a self sustaining player and don't even realize there is an issue until people start complaining about. None of this affects me. It's great

@@PvmElegance makes the game more fun that way too. Sure there is something to be said for "some days I just don't feel like doing x so I'll buy it from the GE" but a lot of these things are AFKable/low effort so I just afk when watching something. I have enough supplies to last me for months without replenishment. Or years in the case of some potions
Can't really self sustain on items like bik pages and dyes though. However I can see why ironman mode does appeal to people, so many things have trashed the economy and lets not even talk about how treasure hunter ruined game play levelling achievements

An easy solution to the Bik page prices is to do what they did at solak and have 1 page per kill guaranteed, with a chance to get 25 rarely. 14m per croesus kill would surely get people back into it
This seems like it'd have the inverse reaction than you'd hope.
For the first day, they'd be 14m, the second they'd be 100k. The third, 5k.
Croesus has been hit in quick-ish succession by drop nerfs, seed nerfs then necromancy.
Perhaps give a chance at 2-3 pages in the same drop slots as the main drops. Absolutely not as 100% drops.
Might be that people are prepping for new 110's some are stocking up pages, probably a few econ clans are hoarding them as well. Some people who usually do croseus might be doing other skills prepping for the upcoming new skilling boss. I think its likely a combination of a lot of different changes. As for bots, i dont know if its necessarily worth it for botters to go fish. We know that bosses are being bottes now, i imagine bot detection of a fishing bot is far easier than detecting a bot doing bosses?
macros have been in the game since the start of eoc and have been used against pvpers and bosses. it's so crazy that people are just now finding this out after about a 10 year run only because of youtube vids
Fishing is AFK skill, how can u detect that 100% sure? And yah, 3m hr not worth fishing...
@danielperez9063 I'm not a game developer, but fishing require you to click once what every 10 minutes now, whereas a boss require to some extent constant variable input. Making a fishing bot is easy, but how do you mimic a real players inputs with fishing? I don't know what bot systems Jagex has or the state of the warfare between them and bots, so yeah, I have no idea, but I have a feeling fishing bots are easier to detect.
I noticed on my last episode of clue scroll opening that hard clues have dramatically dropped lately. I use to average 1.6m+ per clue scroll on a 100 average. The last one if I didn’t get lucky with some puzzle skip tickets I would barely be above 100m or 1m average. The rewards are definitely crashing if a lot of people are doing clues lately
clue skips are also about maximising clues completed per hour because that relates to caskets and log progression. The dyes are the gamble of paying back the invested cost of the skip tickets used to try and make as much progression on logs as possible. The elite/master logs are gonna take a lot of opens so trying to get as many as you can only makes sense if you want logress sure there will be money to go along with it.
meanwhile i sold POT LIDS for 400 gp each! There is so much weird crap going on with the economy, i just returned after a long time and i was usually on rs2 and not rs3. But i was so shocked and decided to help fill the GE with a few items for quest lists... people will buy ridiculously high so they dont have to run over anywhere else like for hatchets or pickaxes. So surprising it still works to get stuff from shops and sell in GE.
People stop playing, only end game players that pvm / do clue scrolls / do end game content stay, no1 is doing the resource gathering, low level items farming etc.... its gonna go up, the same with overloads, restores, and bonds.... Its gonna keep going worse, especially since new players wont play it if they see the amount of money needed to get anywhere reasonable in the game, invention, codexes and bonds are way to crazy....
I just catch my own blue blubbers. AFK as fuck, dont know why ppl complain.
Also enough ways for low/mid level players to benefit from these rise in prices of supplies. Don't think there have ever been more viable ways to gain gp as now for the segment of the playerbase.

Croesus as content has aged really badly. The loot balancing made the unique items soo rare and the standard drops become worthless as huge amounts drop into the game. I'm not even remotely excited for the second 'skilling' boss.
Finally, Necromancy ruined the game by making most other combat related upgrades totally redundant for many players, even after several nerfs it is still wildly broken. Also the combat changes to the other styles are not really fun or good to use.

The whole economy in runescape makes no sense to me. Raw chicken sells for over 2k each. The level 1 bow is worth more than every bow better than it up the magic bow... i mean i know magic bow isnt top tier like it once was, but how is it worth less than the level 1 starter item?
More people got into PvM after Necro release. I personally have used more food since necro release than I did from the entirety of 2020-2023. And believe you me, I played a lot.
I think that if they ever expand on invention perks and more rare materials it will have the same impact on the higher tier items.

Mentioned it in a reply on here. There was a huge clue opening last month (177k+ clues) so those cluers will have had to buy a lot of bik pages to recoup their clues. Then that demand, mixed with the poor supply from only Cro and troves, drove the prices sky high. On top of that we have merchers seeing that spike and jumping at the opportunity - all nearly doubling the price.
The main issue is you get like 2.5 pages from every 50 troves (10 troves per hour) and the rate from croesus is also terrible. Bik is the only way to bypass the 25/50 clue cap so demand is huge.
Necro and Rasial was the reason, and from what i understand with Bik book is that it's a skilling book? and with the announcement of 110 skills, ppl have bought whilst they train.
It might be that due to Nekomancy the market is hitting a spot where the lower numbers of skillers can not fully saturate the ammount of PvMers, thus demand rises while supply dwindles. Ergo the price soars.
The problem with your death guard and death lantern analogy is that you can't wear them unless you've made them before. And the reason they're so cheap is because once you've been to rasial and gotten the upgrades they don't serve a purpose. You can put a lower tier death guard in an eof for the same special attack also so keeping the t90 version is pointless.
The big dip with Elder logs was the release of the Imcando hatchet. Everyone afked elder trees for the max amount of nests to get the pieces of the hatchet.
Plus they crashed when we had events which rewarded infinite porters

What most people are too scared to admit is that the biggest cause for inflation is the constant decline in the player base. I'm a daily RS3 player & its sad to see that our game is really starting to vanish. The roadmap isn't going to save us at this point, I think we're too far gone to make a real comeback.

nothing seems too crazy except dye prices and bik pages. blubbers are a 3 million gp/h strategy on the wiki, even with blubber prices so high its such a waste of time. Noxious components make sense, I farmed a leg a couple months ago, it took a long time even getting lucky.

to me the craziest thin is how cheap ascensions have gotten, just returning after a break and my ascensions are less then 100m for a set now and my sirenic armor is practically free lol
Regular sirenic has been stupid cheap for a long time and ascensions dipped a while back too. There’s just so much better choices now is all
Osrs Experienced a massive bot nuke couple weeks ago so likely Rs3 did the same, lots of commonly botted items skyrocketed in osrs too
Green blubbers were so cheap because they had an event right before necro, something with parcels
And elder logs were so cheap because of the imcando hatchet introduction
There's no liquidity. In OSRS if you want to buy something, you can instant buy for a little more than mid price. Wanna insta buy in RS3? MINIMUM 20% over mid price. It's absurd.
Merchant buy them up because they know you need them for higher lvl pvm and record time kills they dont affect adrenaline and you can spam them with sara brews plus fishing hub is out dated croses is more afk plus menophos gw3 changed the game big time nice to see your still doing videos I watched a few of your guides back in the day wish you the best
Sanctum of rebirth and confirmed magic t95 wand and orb caused some of it, the ones who sold up for necro are wanting to buy back magic, another bit is they said we might be upgrading t95 to better, the logs are lasting from fort forinthy bringing elder planks.

me having bought 15k of them when i noticed the price years ago but still feel like its not a flip to sell themi just get to use them for less >_> one of the rare times ive ever gotten something before the price yeet... I think they had almost ZERO demand before but a lot of people get them from the deep sea net that gets random fish

Merchers happened. When a few people have 90% of the cash in game they can screw everyone else over. As less people are playing, they are able to control more and more
Lower player numbers, and less bots. More people hitting 99/120 fishing everyday and not getting replaced enough.

Stuff like elders and certian other resources i would also attest to 110/120s coming soon wc/fletching will have an update by the end of the year making people want to level it up to be able to do said content with little interference
Rasial jumped blubbers, people who ate cheap solid food needed to eat a lot and save adren when fighting Rassi

Bik book is a niche item for clue scrollers. I dont get the complain as you make a lot of money from clues.

I've been fishing blue jellies for the last couple months, i do play Aus servers an i seen next to no one there not bots nothing, but they did crash because of last DXP, and have now since gone up in price, also fishing blue jellies is the slowest thing you'll ever do so i think that also plays into the price factor of it i can sit for 8 hours and catch a little over 1k that's with full focus. but i might me wrong
It's the flippers driving up the price of everything. Groups of them price fix stuff. You can avoid it by gathering your own...
Necromancy gave more people access to late game content so more people using em?
Price hiked around release of necro and people learned the value of them rather than using solids during fights
Price of green blubbers crashed with the pre-Necromancy box event which shat out food, ashes and bones.
Now, no one fishes them and there is a finite stack of them in-game with nominal replenishment.
I went to ascensions the other day and 1 shard is almost 5k
bots aren't gone hell I was talking to kili row and 5 people spawned all lvl 104 with RC capes and the pet and all had slightly similar names walk in a straight line to the RC portal. Right when when they were out of view 5 lvl 138s popped up with max capes with the same color pattern similar names just no pets walk in a straight line rinse and repeat if that isn't bots idk what is

Here’s the thing. With augmentation one of the biggest gold sinks (repairing armor) is severely lessened. This plus everyone sitting with 10k items in their auto alchers is just causing a ton of inflation with all that gold coming in but not going out. Plus the death cost was reduced. So what gold sinks are there at this point to remove gp from the economy?
No one likes repairing armor. It was always a stupid mechanic. The real problem is the supply just isn't their anymore. Maybe it's time for Jagex to finally realize that this game can't be a slow ass grind like it is today. Not with this playerbase at least. They need to adjust drop tables across the game because 90 percent of them are extremely outdated.
You’re forgetting the 2% G.E tax. Thats a tremendous amount of GP removed from the game a day.
@@Desamous yeah that’s the big one. I just don’t feel like it’s enough since so much trading doesn’t happen on the GE. It’s still got to be an order of magnitude less than the amount f gold coming into the game from drops and Alcoa

Prices of dyes has more to do with merchs, than actual people doing clues.
the game is literally dieing, just look at the population counts of servers now during peak hours, most are barely in the 200s and mostly in the 50s and 100s,
and during non peak hours the game economy literally comes to a standstill....nothing gets traded on the exchange.
just imagine 10 of runescape servers probably has less players than a single maplestory server.
the whole market is out of wack now, gp prices of all the higher level weapons and gears have collapsed while bond prices keep surging astronomically......either indicating a shortage of players or demand for in game items and a increase price for items with real world value aka bonds....
or g.e. tax is working too well and jagex is sucking all the money out of the game.
this game is in a terrible shape there is absolutely no reason to do any low level or mid level activities now as their roi when u compare to the price of a bond is next to nothing.....
can u imagine a year or two ago, bond prices were already high at 60 million but u could get one in a couple hours of 10 mil or 20 mil money makers or even 10 hours of a 5 to 6 mil money makers....
now u have to work 10 to 20 hours even 30 just for a bond......

i think from my own personal observations 1 billion gp is the same as 100 mil gp in RS3. The purchasing power is lower now. It also seems to me EVERYTHING has gone up why? i dont know. Elder logs are up because more people have seen the profit margins for elder frames. but 13k plus for a log? way too much so we sit back and let the prices drop because less people are buying the logs... we will see.
compare rs3 bonds to osrs it is 10x it's crazy
Elder logs aren’t commonly gathered I do them since I have porters and gote and that’s the only real reason I do it. My logs will sell for like 170m+ but it’s my 120wc method so I’ll get a lot more

Make all food not drain adrenaline.
Just use overload, then combo eat with brew+blueblubber and sailfish for panic.

Bond prices end of story
Bik pages are more expensive because grimoire mechanics changed. People were monitoring internal cd for the book and were micro activating/deactivating book. Bik book is op shit, everybody was using it in my guild when I started playing, it's still very strong if you want clue completions, still doesn't even really loose money. Croesus is still run quite a bit, it is a top money maker in the wiki, the price increase is due to an increase of consumption of bik pages. But to be fair, skilling godbook pages dropped from boss content stinks.

@@pondracek croesus drops combat gear as well. It is still a boss, when doing Croesus you press more button than any osrs player bossing on their retro game and it requires a bit more of you than most regular bossing content. Some players who mainly skill cannot do Croesus properly, it's not cool for them.

You click once roughly every 15 seconds or so. May as well declare big game hunter bossing and all active skilling bossing, from caches to dinarrow propellant.
