I'm a Jock, ex 1 Para, my grandfather was a Gordon Highlander, served in Burma during WW2, a lot of my school friends served in the Gordon's also. So sad to see those fine regiments disappear.
They certainly were good regiments...but no match for the real Highlanders of The Seaforths, The Camerons, or The Gordons. Of course they couldn't match these Regiments....because they were not Highlanders. Now...there's a breed to be conjured with.
Awesome military history documentary

Eh?, get a grip ffs. The KOSB'S come from the famous border reivers ya idiot. Just as fearsome as any highland regiment.
The 25 and 1st of Foot were more than a match for the Jacobite army.
Strange seeing these regiments without a black face and they look better for it! before you people start objecting No Apology ! OK
Well, maybe if people in Scotland would *actually* join up, they wouldn't have been scouting Fiji and elsewhere to plug the gaps...
Name checks out.
