I'll fly this route with LH on first class next month.
Nothing beats a 747 sud , perhaps Concorde of course- but (2) totally diff aircraft’s.
However I did fly on BA R class (4) diff occasions.
Once on a chapter into Detroits metro airport circa 1985 LHR-JFK-DTW
And also sked service from JFK and IAD. Extremely slim & narrow aircraft with grapefruit size windows that had cooling elements around the frame so you wouldn’t burn ur fingers during mach 2.02 acceleration.
BA 747-400 in F was wonderful , prior to actual beds. But the recline was so great and so much room , there was very little difference.
Have a nice trip on one of of the very scarce 747- Sud’s !

If I can make a ranking, the best flight in my life is the one I took from Frankfurt to Sydney Via Singapore by Lufthansa in 1991. The vessel was Boeing 747-400 ER and the total flight time was 24 hours including the layover times in Singapore and Melbourne. What makes it memorable is how the cabin crew were very caring and entertaining. I felt at home and in good hands throughout that long flight because of them: both the set that took us from Frankfurt to Singapore, and the set that took us from Singapore to Sydney.

Excellent and very detailed trip report. Outstanding video of the final approach and landing in Changi Airport. Generally, I love all your flight reports. BTW. The Changi Jewel reminds me of such a waterfall in Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport Terminal 3, but not in such a size and magnitude.

I think a A380 is much more modern and attraktive, and lower noisy. But I have respect in the 747 which is basiclly more than 50 years old and always attractive.
If you left Frankfurt airport you left 80's standard. Even the airports in Eastern Europe look newer today. Arriving in Singapore you enter a complete new dimension of luxury and style.

lovely aproach on Singapore, i love that city by the way, been there some times and i am thinking going next year, and that airport is something fantastic.
That 747 landing was really smooth, when i flew them i noticed that, all the landings are always very smooth. Well but the quads are going to give away for the next genarations like 777-X, can't wait to see them flying, 350's and dreamliners.
Question, i noticed in Singapore they use the e-gates to pass the passport at the border but i am aware that we need to fill de desembarkation card online, so if you used the e-gate at the border control they don't ask you for that card?
Keep with the good work and keep bringing that flight reports.

Just a little suggestion, that would be good to present the date format in future video as 30 June 2023, instead of June 30, 2023 as most countries in the world today, and hence more population, use such format internationally.
