- In this video we complete half of the metal roof on the pole barn. We did all of this with only 3 people. It was difficult at first, but once we figured out a good system, it was easy and fast! This video explains exactly how to put on a metal roof. It also explains step by step instructions for the beginning barn builder. We have never built a pole barn before and are teaching ourselves as we go. If we can figure it out, anyone can:) We got our metal roofing from a local Amish family. His name is Jacob Yodler. Did you guys think about predrilling the roof metal before taking it up to screw it jn? We were thinking about doing the that but not sure if it would help a ton or not. Thanks
+Frank Christopher Hey! Thanks so much:) And yes, we did think about that but ultimately decided against it just to save time… That would have added another step in the process and we work full time. So we really only have weekends and evenings after work to work on the barn… If you have the time, I recommend doing that. It would make it much easier to screw everything on the roof too because the holes would be marked, and you wouldn’t miss. Good luck with your barn! Your father in law is lucky to have you helping! 30x40 will make an awesome pole barn!
